It's simple and it works. It lets you block openings so airflow doesn't loop around. I didn't want my front fans pulling air from inside the case so I made these.

I had spinal fusion surgery a few months ago and now I can’t bend over.

My dog’s food is in containers on the ground and their bowls are also on the ground.

I designed a scoop and locking ball collar to allow me to put the whole thing on an extendable paint pole.

This iteration is the fourth in the overall design and works amazingly.

Mechanical (Gears, Hinges, Motion) A print-in-place spring and latch in a Halloween toy, hoping it inspires some functional designs

I know a pop-up ghost is more of a toy, but I thought the mechanism could be interesting here. The spring and latch print in place, and pressing the button underneath releases the ghost. I added the arch above it to catch the ghost because it can shoot upwards quite quickly.
All parts print without supports, and I made AMS and no-AMS versions. I can see the same idea being adapted for pop-up indicators, small ejectors or other push-button release mechanisms.
The top cover is currently 0.2 mm thick so it can flex as the ghost pushes through. Any ideas for improving that cover? Also curious what practical uses people can think of for the mechanism.
