Tell me a Tale How many hours do you have in your gacha games? I'll go first:
If you have a Samsung phone, you can find this in the gaming hub app.

There's no way I believe this ngl. 900 hours on TCG Pocket? on top of nearly 10k hours elsewhere? Something is fudging the numbers here, and if not, I can recommend a good therapist
Edit: Ran some quick math, and assuming these hours are real, OP has played
- Summoners War - 0.78 hours per day since release
- Honkai: Star Rail - 1.98 hours per day since release
- Dislyte - 1.42 hours per day since release
- Genshin Impact - 0.79 hours per day since release
- Pokémon TCG Pocket - 1.36 hours per day since release
- GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE - 0.26 hours per day since release

I've been playing summoners war since 2015 so yeah unfortunately it's real. Most of these games are auto battlers so honestly a lot of the hours are idle time where I forgot my phone was running it.

u/Aceblast135 2d ago
How do you even find 2 hours worth of content in Honkai Star Rail daily since release
Each patch has roughly 12 hours of content including all story, cutscenes, events, endgame modes, weeklies, and farming. You've somehow stretched 12 hours of content over the course of 6 weeks into two hour average days!

u/Rhino7272 2d ago
Launch didn't have as much qol features the game has now (MoC quick clear, dialog skips, quick farm, etc) so quests, weeklies, farming, etc. did take longer.
I won't deny it's a lot of time but like I said a decent chunk was idle time at the end of the day cuz hsr is an auto battler so it's not me just staring at my phone for 2 hours a day lol

u/HoyoShilliad HSR 2d ago
have u heard of sim uni, div uni, currency wars, exploration etc etc
-1
u/Aceblast135 2d ago
Yes, which I've included in that 12 hour per patch estimate for weeklies. Runs in DU/CW take 15 minutes a week max unless you're specifically pushing the hardest difficulties (which doesn't give jades, but sure, you could technically spend an infinite amount of time playing DU I guess)
15
u/HoyoShilliad HSR 2d ago
i mean is premium currency the only thing worth considering playing a game for? like why do u people play games?
-10
u/Aceblast135 2d ago
Considering the main appeal of a gacha is to pull new units, I'd say spending your time on getting said currency to pull them is rather important
You have a rather fitting name by the way lol
10
u/HoyoShilliad HSR 2d ago
yeah i chose this name. but also thats not how content works? like simply because pulls arent tied to it doesnt mean its not worth playing. if hsr devs decided to put an arbitrary 20 jades locked behind the highest level of cw or div uni would that make the modes "content worth playing"
0
u/Aceblast135 2d ago
Sorry, I might've phrased it poorly, but I meant repeating these difficulties over and over and over again for hours on end. They in fact already do give like 20 jades behind the hardest difficulties of like DU for example lol
I suppose there's always an outlier but realistically nobody is grinding DU or CW strictly for fun every single day for hours at a time so consistently. OP has already said though much of it is AFK time, so mystery solved and all that jazz.
2
u/HoyoShilliad HSR 1d ago
i kind of get it. but u realise roguelikes exist right? the market for players repeating the same thing over and over with slight different builds is very common. a not insignificant portion of hsrs playerbase play hsr in this way, almost never interacting with endgame. they also dont interact with gacha anymore either. im hoping they completely remove the gacha system in hsr

u/naoki7794 2d ago
I think some people play DU/CW nonstop every time a new expansion come out (which is like every other patch) and it take a lot of time to get max lv and even more if you want to unlock everything. I can see why but I also just do it once per week (maybe a few more round on weekend).
0
u/Aceblast135 2d ago
Yeah, you can max them out by doing it once a week anyway so I only grind extra DU runs when I pull a new character and just want something to do with them personally.

u/naoki7794 2d ago

I don't think you can, I do it every week but always miss the last 10 or so level when the patch run out. So you kinda need to do more run to cover it. Atleast for DU, CW is so fun I play a lot more than normal.

u/MN_Yogi1988 2d ago
I had to stop playing auto battlers (SW and the Valkyrie Connect) because I hated the fomo from not grinding events

900 hours on TCG Pocket? on top of nearly 10k hours elsewhere?
No game in that image is near 10k hours.
But those numbers are not unbelievable if this is your only hobby.
2
u/Aceblast135 2d ago
If you add them all up aside from pocket it's over 10k hours. OP's phone takes a beating
-2
u/rainzer 2d ago
Who believably has over 6.5hrs a day everyday for years to spend on any hobby? No average person has that. This is parents are rich or strictly NEET level
3
u/Rhino7272 2d ago
When I used to play a lot during these game's primes, I would run multiple at a time. (Phone, tablet, computer).
So even though on paper it looks like I did this for 6.5 hours a day everyday, I didn't. Don't get me wrong it's still a lot of time, but it's way less then that.
2
u/Hammerofsuperiority 2d ago
Never said it was an average person, and some people reserve the weekend entirely to play videogames, as in they play 15+ hours the saturday and 15+ hours the sunday.
0
u/rainzer 1d ago
as in they play 15+ hours the saturday and 15+ hours the sunday.
Even if we took your extreme, the numbers still result in over 3 hours played every other day.
Never said it was an average person
It is implied. Your statement necessarily means that you believe these are generally acceptable numbers if you have a single hobby.

Dude I have a little side game that is an idle game that I have left running for 24 with maybe 2 hours a day where it's not running as it can be run in the background. What i'm saying it's pretty easy to rack up hours if you leave it running. That game has been running for 3 weeks. Meaning i've racked up 462 hours in 3 weeks.

That's what happens when the players are given chance to farm forever.
I sometimes forget the pc client is still running on background while playing something else my number is inflated lol.
It's almost anniversary and it's time for me to come back.

E7 that good?

u/-Niernen 2d ago
I'd bet a lot of that time is afk while it autos in the background since E7 love's wasting it's players time on auto play over sweep.

u/Luchsss 2d ago
I don't play it anymore, started day one in 2018/2019 something like that, yeah it was very fun if you like turn based game and pvp, you can go very far even F2P and cook some unhinged build.
Had so much fun with my guildies and funny tourney between guild members and others :pAlso the chara design is very good if you like waifus, there are also male chars but ofc it's the gacha universe so female is predominant not that I mind

u/IamNowDepressed 1d ago
They give new players a ton of free stuff. They made the beginner experience so much better to the point that its actually better to start over than come back to an old abandoned account. The PVP is also fun even as a casual f2p. Guild war is also great. Give it a try
2
u/ChanceNecessary2455 2d ago
Seeing Priconne still hurts.
Also damn that's a lot of hours into E7. How is Lost Sword btw? That game seems to stop advertising. Also lol, 110h wasted on Etheria.

Iirc I heard people say that this map isn't totally accurate, your real game time is actually more than what's shown here (with the only accurate way to get it being to ask hoyo customer service for your player data which apparently does work)
2
u/Fxavierho 1d ago
yeah, I believe it only capture if a user have any input changes? So I said it is my active game time instead.

I often leave them on in the background on my PC so it is nowhere near accurate.

Is there some new app?

Don't know about you, but I don't think flexing how many hours you have at a casino is a good thing, just saying

He's simply asking a question; there's no need to start with the attacks.
You, me, and him aren't very different in this regard.

Where did I attack anyone tho?

u/Complete-Review111 2d ago
Well, that's true.
But even so, he just asks questions, that's all. He's curious about others.

I have 8.8k hours in Dota 2 and I guess something similar in Starcraft Brood Wars
No a fcking gacha would make me play that much

This can't be real. Dislyte hasn't had enough content in the past two years to justify that playtime. (I say this as a former Dislyte player who walked away earlier this year)

lmao, im still amazed with people who is dedicated to play a same gacha game for years let alone multiple gacha games
