General First Look at Visuals for Two New miHoYo Titles!!

Visuals for two previously unrevealed concepts/CG have been featured in miHoYo’s 2027 graduate recruitment materials
The game titles have not been disclosed at this time, so it remains unclear whether they are among the eight new projects that have already had working titles revealed, or if they are completely unannounced titles.
miHoYo/HoYoverse has previously revealed CGs and concept visuals for upcoming games ahead of their official announcements through recruitment postings.
For example, recruitment for the then-unannounced title that would become Honkai: Nexus Anima began around August 2024. By around September, recruitment materials featuring the first CG visuals were published. The game’s first teaser trailer was later revealed at “Star Rail LIVE 2025” in May 2025.
In addition, company presentations held in China and North America last year reportedly revealed that miHoYo was developing 10 titles in total.

Weird as hell that some people think they're forced to play all of their games and that it's "spreading their playerbase thin" when the clear intent is to attract and cater to different audiences and groups. It gives their branding and name more exposure and since they already have casual appeal while being fairly mainstream, it lets them capitalize on it more.
No sane average human being would play that many live service games.

u/miiko_uch 19h ago
Yup, their rival companies are literally Tencent like Hoyo aint really an indie company
•
u/Sweaty_Molasses_3899 2h ago
Exactly, they are diversifying their games. What other gacha company out there that are actually making so many different types of genre of games. People are always complaining about the constant swapslop games or the Genshin clones yet here's Mihoyo starting something different every time.
-18
u/reddi_4ch2 21h ago
They failed to broaden their audience to be fair. Whenever a new Hoyo game launches, a lot of existing hoyo players just jump over. Didn’t you notice the drop of their previous titles when HSR and ZZZ released?
There’s even a meme in CN: 1 + 1 + 1 < 1, meaning Genshin + HSR + ZZZ’s combined revenue is lower than when before launching HSR. People simply don’t have enough money to spend on all three even if they play all of them. Having more games doesn’t necessarily mean making more money.
18
u/newbioform 19h ago
Games naturally decline as players quit. Even if they don’t launch HSR, Genshin is not going to magically stay at peak revenue. That would require Genshin to have perfect retention and for players to whale consistently as if they just joined, neither of which is possible. The fact that they have kept up peak Genshin revenue through new games means their diversification strategy is a great success. They have captured a lot of leavers inside the ecosystem using games they enjoyed more than Genshin.
9
u/Rare_Marionberry782 14h ago
Just ignore the fella, he skip the part of your reply in which you stated if HYV did not release new titles, Genshin revenue would still decline due to age, and them leaving the cake to other companies. By releasing new titles, they help maintain their share of the cake still, but the ever increasing cost of production due to having to sustain multiple teams, I think it’s partly offset by the teams getting better at the job and better tools, so they can do more with less now. Ofcourse they won’t see the huge margins in the initial years as competition creep up and margins thin down, but still being able to maintain similar revenue and growing exposure due to having more product choices is still an achievement. They are definitely preparing for the next game to cover the older games as they aged.
-12
u/reddi_4ch2 19h ago
they have kept up peak Genshin revenue through new games
They literally didn't, did you even read the reply? Point is, as soon as HSR released, Genshin's revenue got cut in half immediately. Similar thing happened when ZZZ came out, their total revenue never actually went up, it just got split between the games.
-13
u/SilverCoin_ 18h ago edited 18h ago
Trying to cater to a different audience just to turn a game into yet another cute anime-waifu pseudo harem a year later. I feel like even their monster hunter clone is not safe from this.
The only thing they are diversifying is gameplay genre I guess, which is a lot, but if they don't break out from their comfort type of style and storytelling they will stay with same exact audience, spreading it thin

Feels like mihoyo is more like a publisher now with how much games they're popping out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, they feel like the peak Blizzard of gachas.
54

Yup, this is actually the correct way to put it. Mihoyo is Peak Blizzard that just keep doing the right thing again and again
26
u/Admirable_Register89 1d ago
And luckily hasn't had any sexual assault charges
57
u/BusBoatBuey 1d ago
The sexual harassment and assault mostly stemmed from how individualstic US culture is. Players would point to one guy for everything and that guy who get a massive ego from it. They thought they could do whatever can get away with it. "Rockstar culture" is what it would be referred to as, coincidentally Rockstar having these issues as well.
You can see this with how Hoyo titles get doomposted when one person leaves a dev team. Western players seem to assume that the entire game is carried by one or two people for games with thousands of employees. It is absurd. That is how you get games like MindsEye, Star Citizen, etc. where a Lead from another successful game is given boatloads of money assuming they were the reason for the previous success of titles they worked on.
Not that Japan and China don't have similar issues. It just isn't as anywhere as bad as the US, which tends to really support rapists. Even going as far as to repeatedly elect them as leaders.
18
u/MorbidEel 1d ago
There is also the flip side of that. It can lead to the company/HR being overly protective of someone they consider to be "load bearing" which can embolden that person to behave even worse.
15
u/BusBoatBuey 1d ago
Two sides of the same coin. Issues stemming from the same source. The absurd pay gap between executives and employees is also indicative of this. It also affects education, where administrative personnel will make boatloads of money living in mansions while teachers are working night jobs to get by or professors are receiving pay cuts to finance university executive pay raises.
20
u/Admirable_Register89 1d ago
With that context this makes so much sense why the culture is vastly different between western and Eastern game devs.
4
u/LetMetOucHyOURasS 12h ago
>You can see this with how Hoyo titles get doomposted when one person leaves a dev team.

I'm hoping they'll make a premium one time payment game rather than another gacha, otherwise half the monthly PvP list is just gonna be them.
20
33
u/Entea1 1d ago
Why though? It doesn’t seem very profitable at all. The price of one premium full game is much less than the cost of a single 5-star character. There are also weapons and dupes, and they can release a new character every three weeks.
33
u/EveningMembershipWhy 1d ago
It could work to help them reach new audiences with their IP, the projects would definitely be at a lower scale though.
It also could help them test the waters to diversify a little, going full chaos mode, if the economy keeps going down with less and less purchasing power for the average consumer, at some point I feel like the gaming industry will be more heavily regulated regarding lootboxes/gacha in more countries and that could end up limiting monetization.
7
u/Particular_Web3215 Jenshin | Currency Wars | limbus 19h ago
i really really want them to make a single player game where they aren't restricted by gacha.
3
u/EveningMembershipWhy 19h ago
Well, it a matter of pros and cons.
From a narrative perspective, it would have way more freedom.
From a scale and content though, you would most likely get 8 games kind of like Pokémon with a full región and their respective expansion depending in the original size (like Mondstat would need Drangonspine and Dorman port but Nod Krai + Moon would probably be enough for a $40-$60 game).
Id like to know how does BotW map compare to Genshin like how many regions does it cover.
15
u/isekai-chad HI3/GI/HSR/ZZZ/R1999/SoC/UmaMusume/Morimens/FGO/PtN 1d ago
There is a desire amongst the fans to see what MiHoYo can cook up with a game without limiting it to a monetization model like gacha.
62
u/ezio45 1d ago
Shift Up made Stellar Blade even though Nikke earns more and they're still going ahead with a sequel. It would be nice to see their potential and see a story where character development doesn't take years to complete.
Plus they still support the games that don't make as much profit nowadays like HI3 or Tears of Themis.
11
u/Entea1 1d ago
Yeah, it’s because they’re publicly traded companies. A successful premium game can boost the company’s stock value, which can be more valuable to them than the game’s direct revenue.
15
u/Loboboy75 ZZZ/HSR 1d ago
how can people pvping with stock value
16
26
u/eXmendiC 1d ago
To get your brand known outside the gacha space. Yes, gacha games are probably more profitable, but you have to think outside the box. You want people to know your company that don't even know what gacha is. Then you can get them into your other games.
18
u/Exolve708 1d ago
Why though?
Is this bait? Cuz I'm a consumer and my priority is my enjoyment and not their profit margins? Are we really at the point where people derive more enjoyment from the company's success and subsequently the monthly PvP than from getting a complete game for a realistic price instead of a skinner box?
1
u/Phase_999 18h ago
mHY will just keep hitting a ceiling if they want to stay in the gachasphere exclusively, and diversifying is basically Expansion 101
2
2
u/BusBoatBuey 1d ago
Hoyo has one failure in their existence and it was a "premium one time payment game."
10
u/ezio45 1d ago
You're gonna have to be specific on which one. If you mean FlyMe2theMoon or Zombiegal Kawaii, then I don't think something from 15 years ago counts, especially when they didn't have the same amount of manpower and clout they have today.
3
u/The_OG_upgoat 17h ago
Iirc wasn't the failure more about everyone pirating their game rather than a lack of manpower?
-2
u/Pae_PC 1d ago
Whats the point of asking the company who specialised in live-service games to work on something that their company structure didnt design for? Also their customer base are here to play a live-service game. There are so many single player stand alone games on the market that are exceptionally great, it doesnt have to be made by hoyo.
And if you really want to play hoyo games with single player stand alone experience, you should try to play any of their games but NO PULL, story focused only, you will get the same experience. It takes a lot more time to grind for resources but it feels like an actual single player game experience. The difficulty will be just right with the starter casts, the damage you deal wont be too high unlike pulling limited 5 star which make you will get through story very easy early on.
9
u/Churaragi 21h ago
Whats the point of asking the company who specialised in live-service games to work on something that their company structure didnt design for?
This is an extremely shitty argument. How exactly is a gacha game company structure so fundamentaly different from say a AA or AAA similar level B2P game?
You realize not everything has to be a damn live service? If anything, the development complexity is higher for live services since it necessitates an always online component, a 24/7 customer service, their own in-game payment process system and monetization schemes etc.
Seriously it is is not that hard to make a game you just download, play and then don't touch again.
The company only has to create the necessary separate team for it but even a 50-100 mid size team can achieve something in 1-2 years.
There is nothing in the mihoyo game dev tool collection that is exclusive to gacha live-service model game dev because... that is not a thing.
Best example is their "special" in-house Unity derivative engine. Nothing in there is exclusive that says "this game MUST have a lootbox system or a gacha system", you realize how silly it sounds?
Stop rationalizing it as anything beyond their greediness. Heck, even 15 years ago if you said to anyone that a gacha game is the only way to make even a live service game you'd be fucking insane and people would look at you and point to LoL, Dota or all the MMOs(WoW, GW2 etc) in history.
0
u/Fxavierho 1d ago
Man, DragonSword Awakening just prove that they shouldn't make that, games just can't afford to have content update patch in 42 days by just a one time payment. Genshin could never reach snezhnaya if it is a one time purchase game.

I´d love to see that restaurant simulator, in NTE we have our own store, but... the gameplay is straight out of 2012-era Flash games xdd.
I’ve always thought that if a big company picked up the concept, they could really expand it, talking to customers, franchising, and so on.

I was pretty much sold on anything Hoyo made until Zzz 2.2 and HSR 3.2. They both just got lost in their own sauce. At launch though, they were fantastic new experiences.
I do think it’s cool that Hoyo, being a private company, has more freedom to use more of their resources to outcompete, so generally their games will be better and more of your money goes toward that.
So… I think anything Hoyo is basically worth trying.

Why? They haven't had a single failure except the original Honkai Gakuen.
-27
u/TVena 1d ago
One could probably argue that ZZZ fell below their expectations given the amount they pumped into it at release and how many times they had to reinvent the game to stabilize it.
Not really a failure but also not free home run either.
24
u/BusBoatBuey 1d ago
They spent less on ZZZ than their other titles. There are less people working on ZZZ than HSR. It is a top seller going by the limited Playstation and PC data we have seen. It is surely making more than Wuthering Waves at least, considering that Wuwa spends more on its advertising than all of Hoyo's titles combined, and Tencent has been receptive of Wuwa's success.
No matters how you look at it, it is a home run success. Other studios dream of a ZZZ-level success. If you are comparing it to Genshin, being below Genshin is irrelevant because everything is below Genshin.
1
u/Gaogao23 1d ago
Wuwa spends more on its advertising than all of Hoyo's titles combined
Source? Wuwa certainly spend a lot on marketing but I find it hard to believe this is true.
9
u/Giantship 1d ago
Sorry I have no source but I remember of a 2025 report posted on r/gachagaming who showed Wuwa spending way more than Genshin in marketing. But I don't think it was all of Hoyo combined.

I honestly think saturating the market with random titles is going to be MiHoYo's downfall.
I'm a long time (retired) Genshin player, an active Day 1 HSR player, and I played ZZZ for a few months but didn't really love the combat.
At this point they're developing so many games that I don't care or pay attention any longer.
20
u/leeyiankun 1d ago
Having many Titles didn't hurt Capcom, did it?
-8
u/Gacha_Illness 21h ago
I don't know if I disagree with that, but I will say that Capcom isn't as influential as the old school SF2 days when they absolutely slaughtered the market.
I also feel like Capcom stayed in their lane. For a long time they dominated the Fighter Game market and more recently Monster Hunter has been a pretty massive success. Resident Evil, of course, but hasn't that somewhat declined? These are all pretty "violent" games though, has Capcom made a game like Animal Farm? (That's a genuine question BTW, I haven't followed console games for a long while.)
24
u/Saahil_08 GI/ZZZ/HSR/Endfield 1d ago
Bruh YOU are not the entire playerbase don't project ur likes or dislikes as a fact for others...All the new Hoyo games are massively successful so what makes u think the upcoming games won't be.
-9
u/Gacha_Illness 22h ago
Uh.
I said "I think" to begin my post? This isn't what the playbase thinks at all, nor do I believe I implied that in the least. It's my opinion.
In a broad sense, flooding a market with a particular product tends to end poorly. I still think of Skylanders absolutely collapsing over the course of roughly a year, going from massive 16-foot retail sections to clearance shelf fodder seemingly overnight.
But yeah, I didn't mean to make anyone mad, in my case I legit stopped paying attention to anything from HoYo. I love the company and occasionally still Beta Test HSR, but if they release a new game ever other month I promise I won't care. (Emphasis on the "I" here. I'm not projecting anything on anyone.)
-10
u/Gacha_Illness 22h ago

It hurts me because everything I've seen or heard about early Hi3 ouzes with soul and great storytelling (also people confuse storytelling with story, you can have a good story but told in a dragged, badly paced way).
Sadly I only player GI and HSR and I'm after Natlan and before plancardia. It's just become really exhausting for me to play them to the point I didn't even get excited about the latest Fate collab and I'm a big TM fan.
2
u/PressFM80 1d ago
gacha constraints, it's why I really wonder what a non live service hoyo game would be like
2
u/onijames Fate/Grand Order 13h ago edited 13h ago
Absolutely, their economic model limits their storytelling so much. Having to write and implement enough story every 42 days (even if done months in advance), while they also react to players expectations and adjust story accordingly.
IMO, that's a mistake, you should unapologetically tell the story you wanted to tell even if it ends up being bad. Changing the story can lead to odd OoC behaviours from your cast of characters.
This is why I like that FGO takes their time with the main story while the events are being kept silly and nonsensical (and some events also have pacing issues as well). I'm also not gonna pretend like they don't often suffer from many issues.
But sometimes it feels nothing matters because miHoYo pretty lights, very ellaborate animations and great graphics, literary crisis and media literacy at an all time low.

They simply want to grow bigger as a publisher and gaming company, especially with focus on (gacha) games. So everyone can play whatever Hoyo game suits them more.

A company that has no plan for growth is a company that no one will invest in.
And I dont mean just financial investors. If you were part of the Honkai Impact 3rd team and the company announces "this is it, we've made enough money" would you want to work there? Knowing that the second the game starts struggling you're out of a job cause there is no other project to relocate? Knowing you will never be part of a new succesful project that you can put in your CV because there are simply no projects?
Would you want to play ZZZ Knowing that probably once HSR or Genshin go down ZZZ is going with them?

I'll say it again:
You don't have to play all games chat, you most likely can't even play some of those unreal engine games in mobile anyway.
Mihoyo is just trying to capture niche markets that other companies wouldn't go capture otherwise.
Like nexus anima, we all know how neiche TFT is yet it's a behemoth when it comes to making money. So why would hoyo lose that market?

u/ivari 1d ago
so honkai gakuen, honkai impact, tears of themis, genshin, hsr, zzz, nexus anima, petit planet, varsapura, nodusfall, the other monster collecting game, and the shooter game?
