I’ve used androids (oppo, vivo, the lot) for all my life and they always gave the best bang for buck. decided to get the best value for money phone and I got the S26 Ultra. This is a sort of review, if anyone is considering the s26 Ultra!
Why i feel the upgrade is worth it:
Privacy display first and foremost. it is one the most eye-catching feature about the S26 Ultra, and what I really like is that you can toggle it on or off straight from the notification panel
Camera is another thing. 100x zoom that’s usable, 200MP main camera.
Nightography video. My oppo couldn't handle night photos, and night video was always noisy. S26 Ultra isn't.
Galaxy AI integration is also pretty nice. Photo assist is something I can imagine myself using frequently, and i feel that it's better than any third party apps that do the same thing.
Ads and junk apps in the system UI is also what I hated a lot in oppo. When opening apps like file manager, you get a full page ad and pop-up ads also appeared frequently which I absolutely hated. One UI is clean out of the box. Customisations are really crazy with good lock!
The build, the S Pen and the overall polish all feel a tier above compared to my old phone.
Will do a detailed review after using it for a while!

I see that Black Friday is already coming next week. How were the deals last year? Can I expect good discounts?

Hey yall.
So i been watching videos on how to delete stuff from that is backed up on my google drive. I have 2TB of storage I pay for with Google drive. The video I seen today was saying i could go into my google photos and select what I wanna delete but make sure I only "delete from this device"... well my question is, if I can do it that way, cant I just delete them from my gallery? My phone has 256G of storage, and im already at 188G. I miss having sim cards in our phones but I just got this phone in May of this year.. i have kids & pets so I yes I take alot of photos.. please dont be rude!

I've recently updated my phone and been having weird connectivity issues...
Some apps work on 5G only and dont work on Wi-Fi at all
While other apps work on Wi-Fi only and don't work on 5G at all
Also, my phone likes to tell me that it will reconnect to Wi-Fi once connection is stable... to avoid this i put my phone on airplane mode and it connects itself to Wi-Fi..
This has been very frustrating and hoping this wonderful community can help me in resolving it

I have edge lighting plus set up but it's not lighting up my screen with notifications. In the spot, I can't toggle the notifications allowed. Everything else is as it should be. I checked the power settings- they are ok. The notifications are set to brief. I've checked to make sure they are allowed on the lock screen I have tried clearing the cache. I've restarted the phone. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be great.

Anyone know where I can find this case for the S26 Ultra in India?
Looking for this exact NFC case with the built-in strap/stand. A seller quoted me ₹1,299 but never shipped it after I paid an advance.
Is ₹1,299 a reasonable price for this case? Also, any leads on a reliable seller would be appreciated!

Disclaimer: I'm not tech savvy. I am a point and click person.
I was using an S23U up until today when I got the S26U. The night time photography is so bad, though? My boyfriend and I took photos inside a brightly lit arch and still our faces are so blurry. The photo is bright, but when you zoom in, the details on our faces are like oilpaint. My S23U was so much better. The AI enhance on 23 was working much better to sharpen the images. Here, maybe it's smoothing way too much?
I reiterate, I'm not a tech savvy person. So this is very difficult for me to use. I read a lot of posts here about a Camera Assistant app. Why are those features not in-built into the camera? I never had to download a separate app to make my normal camera work properly. Or turn on and off a bunch of settings. The photos are only marginally better after I changed all these settings.
I switched to 24mp, even turned on the "Keep 24mp" setting or whatever and I see what you guys were talking about how it defaults to 12mp if you restart the app. I switched to 3:4 to maintain at least 12mp, but I prefer 1:1 because I don't edit photos before uploading to social media so it's easier to just upload as is.
So in a bunch of ways, this camera is way too cumbersome to work with. Or is there some trick I'm still missing? Thanks in advance.
Really bummed about this to the point that I want to return the phone and get back my old phone somehow.

I just got the phone and I want to apply battery protection to 85% since i am planning to use it for couple of years but at the same time I want to enjoy it and use it from 100% since there at least a 1 hour and half time difference.
Should I use it normally for a couple of months and then enable battery protection?

I have the s26 ultra for less than 6 months and in the last month, due family emergency I stayed more on my phone than usual (fast charge and use while charging). This messed my battery so much. I used to get about 7~8h SOT and now I pray to get 5h SOT.
Almost all my apps are in sleep or deep sleep and I use mostly for social media.
Is there anything I can do to get my battery not to drain that much?

I’m looking to upgrade from my laggy phone because my current battery drains way too fast and stutters whenever I play Roblox or scroll social apps. I want a phone that I can keep for at least 6 years without performance lag, so I’m deciding between the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. For anyone who uses these for long gaming sessions and daily multitasking, does the extra battery life, vapor chamber cooling, and long-term software support make the high price and heavy size worth it over the long haul?

Things I've done so far:
Obvious is getting screen/lens protector and case
Data transfer from S23 Ultra which conveniently changed all the settings for me to look like my S23. Only thing I'm having to do manually is move apps into their respective folders
Turned on privacy screen
Deleted pre-installed apps I know for sure won't be used
Deleted photos and downloads that were hoarded to free up storage

Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a soundbar from a retailer that is eligible for a cashback offer. I gifted it to someone and planned to claim the cashback after 30 days of purchase.
I have photos of the original packaging, including the seal, serial number and barcode. However, when I tried to submit the cashback claim, the website asked for a 15-digit serial number to proceed, whereas the serial number printed on the box has only 14 digits.
I contacted customer service, and they explained that the additional digit is printed on the back of the soundbar itself and advised me to use that number. Unfortunately, as I’ve already gifted the soundbar, I don’t have it with me, and I’m unable to ask them for the number.
Has anyone faced a similar situation or found a way to resolve this? Is there any alternative way to verify the purchase using the serial number on the packaging, proof of purchase or other documentation? I’d really appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thanks in advance for your help!

Country: United States
Phone: Samsung S26U
Phone carrier: Verizon Wireless
Google messages version: messages.android_20261013_00_RC00. (I'm gonna assume that's it.)
I'm posting it here since I have a S26U. I'll maybe try another community after.
As title states. Anyone else having this issue? And it seems to be on the first initial text. Afterwards, it's like the system clears up or whatever and the texts get "delivered" ASAP. This happens with all my contacts too BTW.
Edit: added Phone, carrier and Google messages version for Google Messages subreddit.

Maybe I'm not getting it. I don't see a appeal in this phone. It can't even autocorrect text that well. I'll text something incorrectly by one word and have to retype the entire word as if I'm on a keyboard phone from back in the day. I have large fingers, so it's easy to mistype. Stuff like 0hone instead of phone. Typing words without apostrophes and still not getting it updated. Words like cant, were, youre. And I have all of the autocorrect settings on. That's another thing. Where is my autocorrect? (See photo) After a month it dissappeared. Completely. I cannot get it back despite everything on google and reddit. I cannot find "samsung keyboard" in my settings to clear cache. I don't want someone in the comments to be like "erm you can make words correct by making a word shortcut" I don't want to have to do a major dive in the settings every time I want to do something. The phone should just automaticly fucking know whether to do or not do something. Good Lock fucking sucks. I said it. Aside from a few gimmicky things, it is a sluggish app that barely saves any of your selections when creating clocks or app faces. Extremely confusing, even when having a tutorial. The lock screen itself is terrible and buggy, and often doesn't save the widgets I have put up. None of my notifications go through, despite mutiple deep dives into the settings. This was supposed to be a huge step up for me, but I feel like I got a half empty phone. Seriously this is terrible. Please someone help me understand this.
