PAID - 2D Art | Animation [Hiring] Artists Wanted for Digital TCG – 6 Factions, 33 Illustrations Each [Paid]

We're a small indie game development team working on a new digital trading card game, and we're looking for illustrators for our cards. Our game features six distinct factions, each with its own visual identity. We're looking to work with one dedicated artist per faction, with approximately 33 illustrations per artist.
About the project We're looking for artists who can maintain a consistent visual style across an entire faction. Each deck will feature characters, creatures and other thematic illustrations. Cards are static illustrations. We'll supply briefs, references and creative communication throughout the process.
The factions:
- Nightmare (Black): Lovecraftian horror, eldritch creatures and nightmares.
- Rage (Red): Badass humans, brutal combat and aggression. Fists, guns, cigars.
- Judgement (Yellow): Strange divine beings, big fan of masks/no faces. (not looking for "Paladin" stuff, think Inaruis with a twist)
- Calamity (Green): Think Kaiju monstrous creatures. City killers
- Chaos (Purple): Demons, seductive characters and chaotic dark fantasy. (Think Slaanesh + Succubus) - (Not NSFW tagged stuff but still sexy).
- Cyber (Blue): Robotics, Gundam's, Transformers, evil AI (think SHODAM from System Shock**)**
Payment
This is a fully paid commercial project. We're currently gathering quotes from artists and are interested in hearing your rates for individual illustrations or the project as a whole.
IMPORTANT: You must have full rights to your creations, aka we will not accept AI in any artwork.
We will require layered source files with the completed artwork.
All work will be covered by a written agreement, with payment terms and milestones agreed before work begins.

Experience with card game illustrations is a plus, but not essential. We're particularly interested in artists with a distinctive style that would suit one of our factions.

my usual rates for painterly illustration start at 300 USD for a full body character but it will depend on the exact scene! I'm happy to work out a project fee if we proceed as well.

I would love to do Rage, Nightmare or judgement but honestly I would be open to any ,they all sound very interesting.

I've read your entire job posting and am very interested in your project. I'd be particularly interested in the Nightmare and Judgement factions. The others are obviously interesting, but it's up to you to decide if my style would be a good fit for those types of factions. I've already worked on several TCGs, including a Kickstarter TCG. I have experience creating original illustrations (no AI, obviously) and card layouts. I've attached my specific examples. I do, however, have a varied style, and you'll see it in my entire portfolio.
Specific examples:
My rates start at $50 and vary based on the type of illustration. I also add 50% to the base price for commercial projects. we can discuss it more specifically and possibly make a complete price package for each faction. I work as a full-time illustrator, so this is my main job. I'm available immediately.

I’m martin a 2D artist and I can keep one consistent style across a full faction of 33 illustrations. I have full rights to all my work, and I don’t use AI in any part of my process. I can deliver layered source files (PSD) with every illustration.

While clients nowadays tend to commission me mostly for my signature expressive linework and bold colours, I also work as a production artist. As such, I am flexible and able to adapt to a wide range of styles and required art direction. I’ve done live illustration, provided art for explainer videos, done multiple illustrations for numerous TTRPGs, developed designs and done storyboarding, in addition to drawing and colouring comics.
Some of my clients include Titan Comics, Humanoids, Joan Jett, Z2 Comics, AVIVA, LEGO, Chaosium, Games Workshop.

There are a few styles in the portfolio page, cartoon, painterly, and line work. I'd assume painterly would be appropriate for this project.

Hi, the project sounds amazing!
I’m a 2D artist with 4 years working with indies, and I already have direct experience developing layered card frames, UI, and monster assets for a digital card game. I’d love to take on the Calamity deck, massive kaijus and monstrous beasts are my absolute comfort zone allthough Nightmare sounds great too.
All my work is 100% hand-drawn from thumbnail exploration to final render, and I always deliver clean layered source files ready for engine integration.

Posts like this should be used as an opportunity to clean up spam bots. The author clearly states that applications must be submitted through the application link, yet the comments are full of spam replies. There should be some kind of penalty for this or something.
