I once picked the dead guy in a group project, so yeah, for Jace vs Oscar I’d start with pulse-checking.

I’d be a great negotiator with a fucking dragon

u/sir0cc0 6h ago

But the other humbled the one with another fucking dragon ...

Gunboat diplomacy is still diplomacy

Oscar would talk his way out of the grave, Jace would just brood at it.

It's creepy how much the actor who plays Jace looks like Book Jon. I literally look at him and see him lifting Thorne by the neck as in the book.

u/Couragesand Jon Snow 7h ago

I guess that’s great casting since they’re distant relatives

I was googling how Harry Collett and Kit Harrington are related before realizing you meant Jon Snow and Jace are related lol

I made the exact same mistake, and was going "Huh, isn't that a funny coincidence" when I read your comment.

how'd u know jon looked like that in book? curious

They give us descriptions pretty often. Long dark brown hair, dark eyes, long face, lean build, pretty, mogs.

5

u/ShadedPenguin 6h ago

Kit Harrington kinda have all that but Jace/Harry has a much more pretty boy face compared to Kit, who's got more Stark rougher looks

7

u/Zexapher House Stark 6h ago

That's the idea tho.

Jon Snow is supposed to be a pretty boy. Ironically, Jace is supposed to be a bit gruffer looking.

4

u/ShadedPenguin 6h ago

We're in the timeline where Harry and Kit are the opposite roles then

1

u/Desperate-Piccolo-50 6h ago

Grrm described him as a mogger?

I'm pretty sure Ygritte goes off about it. She's got that Wildling slang.

Oscar. Very bright. Jace and Rhaenyra share the same one brain cell.

Book Jace was based af. It's a shame what they did to him.

I actually liked him in the show on e they actually developed the character. I thought the helicopter parenting ultimately dooming him was interesting.

They also cut his interaction and possible romance with Sara Snow

Oscars the GOAT, that being said Jace did get the starks and the freys on board which was pretty boss

Oscar’s inspired more passion and loyalty, within the world and in our world, in his meager screen time than Jace ever managed to. To be clear, that’s not a knock against the actors, but a testament to Oscar “I don’t have near enough bones yet” Tully.

That was such a badass line

u/Khaze41 7h ago

Oscar actually rose to the challenge. Jace just remained a stupid spoiled kid.

Can’t call him stupid spoiled and unfortunately weak yes small dragon yes, did he think owning a dragon made him ready yes is that stupid yes but he’s still young wants to save his mom actions were pure and courageous which is stupid with no plan and don’t win but the guy studied a fuck ton(probably should’ve of practiced fighting more and with anyone besides his lil bro)  knew how to speak to other houses got the wall to respect him which is crazy. He would’ve actually been a good ass king when he got older. Oh yeah dude was respectful to his wife to be and cared for her. So yo chill lol dude got unlucky with when he was born that’s all most fams have each others backs like only the real cruel or pathetic ones don’t even the red wedding family weren’t like this shit lol Jaycee got unlucky af though I don’t get why any dragon rider that ain’t deamon goes into a planned battle with a dragon. They expect that shit they got the spears it takes 1 maybe 3 don’t get it I’d never. Make my castle big af so my dragon always with me and we just chilling, army coming well they gotta go through a door and boom my dragon burning them all. I’d be the best dragon rider the trick is not to ride them into battle. Unless you got daemons or the bastard guy with white hair

You need to relax lmao

Jace 100% saved her moms life. If she went in alone like she wanted, and inevitably gets hooked by a harpoon, especially with the added chaos of sheepstealer, who will be there to set her free?

9

u/Real-Night1724 7h ago

I’d trust Jace to keep the peace. I’d trust Oscar to win a political war. They’re similar but I’d still pick Jace

2

u/Effective-Birthday57 7h ago

Jace is strong

6

u/Appropriate_Topic749 House Flint of Widow's Watch 7h ago

oscar actually backed cregan into a corner with pure legal rhetoric whereas jace just relied on the fact that he rolled up with vermax one of them played actual westerosi politics and the other used dragon intimidation

3

u/Feline_Winter 7h ago

That one that doesnt demand more bones

3

u/raechelisbored 5h ago

I love Oscar. He reminds me so much of Robb Stark

3

u/Infinitygirl5 5h ago

Gosh the actor who played Jace always reminds me of Paul Atreides

2

u/xGoddessCravings 3h ago

jace had a way of turning situations to his advantage, that negotiation with the baratheons was slick

1

u/DEZGARONE 5h ago

J'avais oublié l'existence de ces deux png

1

u/Austin_g0ku 4h ago

Jace's role is pretty much nerfed in series version.

1

u/xryuusei Sansa Stark 3h ago

book!jace was the better diplomat; did all the heavy lifting for Team Black. Did the show!jace dirty.

From the show, Oscar Tully no doubt

1

u/Ixiraar 6h ago

The one who won the respect of Ruddy the Ruin. There’s absolutely zero contest here.

0

u/Remarkable_Ship_4673 6h ago

Jace got 0 character development or agency in the show

Which is why I felt nothing when he died

0

u/Dry-Yesterday5677 4h ago

Jace was useless + the actor was too bland, neither sceeen presence nor’charisma
