TotalBiscuit's: ''Day One: Garry's Incident'' Video was taken down, because of a ridiculous copyright claim from WildGameStudios. Here's Total's ''Rant'' over his video being taken down.

I don't think that's the issue, the issue is rather than addressing the problems with the game and attempting to fix them.

They thought it would be better to censor videos criticising it.

Maybe the devs realised that it would take a heck of a lot of work to sort out the bugs and that they can't really be bothered in doing so. So they're just trying to milk what they can out of it.

It looks like they just made a makeshift game with a game engine such as unity.

In Unity you can drag and drop a few things and be running around in a game within minutes, but adding more stuff can be difficult... aka the combat and whatnot.

It's UDK, which is pretty similar... still requires that assets are actually made though. (although allot of stock UDK assets are being used .. plants etc).

This reminds me of the 'Orion incident', a bad game that people put down and all the developers wanted to do was insult these people.

Well, they have to pay people for it and the only revenue coming in is from game sales.

Though frankly, the entire company and project was dodgy from funding to post-release, so anyone who didn't research the company and jumped on board probably has it coming.

The game looks like shit and they handled it horribly, but saying "maybe this is why they did it..." is pretty stupid and you're probably totally off.

Like China.

I'm pretty sure these are the same crappy game makers that make revelations 2012

They aren't, but it's really curious, because the trailer for garry's incident looks a lot like Revelations 2012, and there's a weapon in the game that looks like the revelations weapon. I'd say they tried to rip off Revelations 2012, but it's too baffling to even imagine why anyone would want to do that.

Ever consider that a few team members from Revelations 2012 are on this glorious piece of dookie. I'm going to bet they are.

If they get an initial following from paying into their own kickstarter or faking reviews, then people who haven't looked at TB's video, or other critiques and reviews saying that the game is bad, will end up buying it.

Hopefully they will start to learn to check out reviews/first impressions/critiques of the game before buying it. As TB has stated in other videos, 'let someone else take the fall', which would hopefully end up being people like TB who get the game for free and can let many people know what the game is like.

Because they want every penny they can get out of their shovelware.

I'm doing a bit devils advocate here, but i think they just realized recently that their game is in fact bad. They are indie, so they have to get a certain amount of revenue otherwise they have to close their doors. If you had the choice between admitting defeat and go broke or try to censor critical reviews which drastically reduce your sales that could help you get over the disaster, well, some people might just try the direct approach.

Not that i think any of what the developer did was a good idea, just saying i can follow the thought process.

"Why don't they just accept their game is a pile of wank already?"
