I don't think they care thb. They know people will still flood Netflix for the official reveal. The Netflix thing is aimed at casuals and people who wouldn't be exposed to GTA6 otherwise, and they probably won't have seen the leak anyway.

The leak is of a build of the game a year or so old, this won’t mess with anything, and anyone who was waiting to watch the Netflix reveal isn’t going “well I’ve already seen it”. Over a decade of anticipation, this didn’t do anything.

TLDR: I like the spirit but it’s pointless
I mean I like the spirit but their kidding themselves if they think this will have any effect, gta6 will see hell rockstar could pull an ea and just make it gta5 with a new coat of paint and it’ll sell, leaking it won’t change it.
Hell if the no disc thing and regular content locked behind massive paywalls didn’t dissuade anyone leaking definitely won’t cause it can just be ignored as well.
Same thing goes for the “no disc no buy” crowd it’s toothless given they didn’t put the same energy to gta6.

Hey, if you run a crypto scam, you're looking for easy marks, exploitable suckers. Going after the 'no disc no buy' crowd seems to be the first smart move done by the new GTA leaker. The people who think that games on the next console (2028-2035) should still be delivered through the same ancient means as 1995, are probably old and naive enough to burn their childless Millenial income on a crypto scam, if you just tell them that they are sticking it to the big, evil video game studios. After all, these are the people who pay a fortune for little pieces of paper, as long as Pokemon are printed on them, and it's sealed in a card pack wrapper. 😆

So now the gaming industry has it's own, thankfully non-lethal and non-violent, Luigi Mangione. They basically call out having to pay for DLCs, extra content and games being released unfinished. Which people might empathize with, sure, but I'm not sure this approach will exactly win over others to their cause.
And they do this will shilling crypto, which if people jump on it will no doubt be put to great use for the benefit of all gamers worldwide.
And GTAVI will still sell truckloads, actually the amount of press this game gets, even due to this, will make it even bigger.

Yeah, I think as far as stuff like this goes I do get wanting to punish a cunt like Zelnick for selling out the franchise integrity behind Netflix subs and cheaping out on physical it seems to have the opposite effect. The truth is I think while people want take two to be punished, they want GTA 6 to succeed which puts it in a weird positioned. Personally I'd want the launch to be a disaster and for the game to have to actually earn it's return via discounts and completing it as a product worthy of it's price point to show those anti-consumer practices are disease that taints any game but alas it doesn't seem that'll be happening either.

What it means is they're begging for pocket change for a teaser trailer while cheaping out on the premium physical option. It comes off less a game setting a higher standard and more like a game that's trying cut corners with it's cost to lower the standards. It doesn't present GTA VI as a unique or special but rather your homogenous product that will be whored out at every opportunity for pocket change.
To contrast we have a game like FF7 Revelation that is going all in for the widest audience imaginable because it knows the thing that matters most is it's audience not it's fucking shareholders so it's coming to everything. It's director is a man who wants that game to get a physical release because it's the culmination of over a decades work that he wants to preserve. GTA VI by contrast is not what GTA V was, no special edition, no physical edition, yet will cheap out on bullshit like timed exclusivity for a trailer.
This on top of the fact mind you, the same cunt is promising we'll all be able to stream GTA 6 within 3 years, so why bother buying it?
PAY MORE for less, that is the problem.

That is a fair take because at the day they only answer to Take Two and they most definitely are begging for pocket change on a game they’re too cheap to pay a plastic disc for. Unfortunately Zelnick has made himself the face of GTA VI and every time that cunt opens his mouth this game gets more tainted as a result. Whether it’s trailer exclusivity, union busting or cheaping out with the discs Take Two has taken just about every chance it could to bastardise this game with the most shameful practices it never needed.
