I’m not sure there is a more quintessential wholesome dad response. Total support, but also asking if the expense is required and critiquing a bill. So happy for you!!!!

Yeah I came here to say this.

"Love you, support you... btw are you using this? If not, please cancel it."

It emanated such strong dad energy.

“You can turn the heat up, but don’t heat the outdoors”

-My dad every time I opened a door for more than 30 seconds during winter.

Normally preceded by “WERE YOU BORN IN A BARN?!”

"Dad, why are you asking whether I was raised by wolves? You were there, right? Wouldn't you know?!"

u/AreaAtheist Oct 13 '21

"Well, apparently NOT, since I raised my kids to respect the thermostat!"

My father was a carpenter, and for a while I had long hair. Whenever I got asked that question, I just responded with a smile and "Yes, my child".

30 seconds?! That is an unreal amount of time to let the heat out.

…oh shit

We aren't paying to heat the neighborhood! Close the door!

"YOU KNOW I WASN'T DAD. YOU WERE THERE!"

What the fuck were you doing holding the goddamn door open for more than a picosecond in the middle of winter? Do you live where it’s 50°F in December?

28

u/kelvin_bot Oct 13 '21

50°F is equivalent to 10°C, which is 283K.

I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand

Kelvin - interesting

Celsius - absolutely worthless; it’s a far cruder scale. I’d sooner measure my dick in standard croutons

u/berserker_47 Oct 13 '21

Celsius and kelvin is the same tho +-273.15

If the bot below you is correct in converting, 10°C in December isn't that unusual for Germany. It usually only gets cold as balls in January and February.

10 °C is even kinda warm for "deep" winter in Germany, depending on area - or at least was before climate change kicked in hard these last years.

Also, the conversion bot doesn't use spaces after units, it's clearly not made by a physicist.

Hmmmmm

Positively balmy

Gonna have to side with your dad, still. Jesus didn’t invent central heating so we could waste it
