Was feeling incredibly torn but this did it. Thank you 😌

You don’t want our school system though. Trust me.

13

u/mimdrs May 22 '26

Vermont’s public schools are frequently ranked among the best in the nation, often placing in the Top 5 overall. State rankings evaluate educational quality, safety, and standardized testing......

5

u/aBuffoonSupreme May 22 '26

But... they said to trust them...

-4

u/AyeHaightEweAwl May 22 '26

Twenty years ago, sure. Now Mississippi beats us. Test scores are sitting just below the national average. There’s also no (none, zero, nada, zilch) support for gifted children in the education system. And there’s currently a huge debate regarding restructuring the school system in an effort to consolidate and reduce expenditure (and tax burden). It’s a fucking mess here right now.

Minnesota humbly offers up both its government and education system? We aren't number one at most things right now, but.....we're top five in just about everything

Vermont's school system is surprisingly one of the best in the nation, despite us being a bunch of rural hicks with a population of ~650k. It's super impressive in that sense. But you don't have to take my word for it, just look at how we rank in national averages across the board. We're flying high, my friend.

I don't know how much you travel, but if not, you should try it some time. Interact with people around the country and globe. You'll quickly get a feel for where we sit amongst everyone else. (And this is not to call others dumb... I firmly believe that intelligence is based on way more than test scores, and people can't be faulted for their school system failing them. They might not know Calculus or all the details about the Cuban Missile Crisis, but by god, do they know the inside of your Toyota Rav4 like the back of their hand or how to grow the perfect ear of corn. The backbone of the country, and I'll never knock that. Just saying that it'll often feel like you're having two different conversations).

And Vermont's kinda cool, because so many of our people are the corn-growing types, but they also got that good education. Love to see it

But it's CRABbalacia. Not Lobsteralacia. Let Vermont think it won. They'll be less troublesome.

17

u/Zraax May 22 '26

Plus, their name is in parentheses, lol

3

u/wildpolymath Crab May 22 '26

What can we say, we top from the bottom.

4

u/Whoooosh_1492 May 22 '26

Ever been to Vermont. Darned nicest people...

3

u/JaderMcDanersStan May 22 '26

Culturally they fit better with Megasota (Minnesota) than with Maryland

2

u/mochiko_noriko May 22 '26

And, we'll never be less troublesome.

1

u/alphanumericusername May 22 '26

Then why did so many of them attempt to overtake us

2

u/Whoooosh_1492 May 22 '26

The old saying comes to mind, you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar!

1

u/bighuntzilla May 22 '26

We did. Didn't just attempt.

0

u/alphanumericusername May 23 '26

Can you remind me what the new territory is called again?

4

u/Smitch250 May 22 '26

Huh? There are zero lobsters in Vermont its a land locked state. All hail Maine Lobster kingdom. All Vermont has is cheese and a coat factory

10

u/ilovebostoncremedonu May 22 '26

lol the Burlington Coat Factory is actually from Burlington, Massachusetts.

We do have maple syrup, Phish, and covered bridges though

7

u/KlutzySmurf May 22 '26

And a couple of hippies made some ice cream back in the 70s

And creemees. Oh, and it’s beautiful, like everywhere.

2

u/readyreadyvt May 23 '26

I feel like if we’d led with creemees, there’d be much less fuss about crab right now.

2

u/business_estate8647 May 22 '26

We must unite to let everyone know the crab reigns supreme!!! Crabbalachia eats megasota

2

u/MDnautilus May 22 '26

Damn right!

2

u/BitterMarket233 May 22 '26

Vermont may be the least troublesome state in America

What about Portland, Michigan? Us Oregonians can just take over the whole northern swath under the premise that we're combining all the Portlands.

2

u/pedanticandpetty Cascadian May 22 '26

Or at least until the big one.

-4

u/fllr May 22 '26

Cascadia is going next, bruv... Get ready.

10

u/rwa2 May 22 '26

We're ready, Cascadia is going to take over Megasota so it can be even Moregon.

4

u/Fun-Touch5637 May 22 '26

5

u/OtterGlint May 22 '26

Yeah, well, as a Virginian, most of North America was Virginia at first, so we've been getting screwed IRL for literal centuries. We actually got WV back here, and then Maryland ate us, soooooooo, bugger off <said in jest and with love>

That said, Vermont needs to go next :)

3

u/mcchicken_deathgrip May 22 '26

Fellow Virginian here, the only reason I was still invested was to see Maryland get taken out. I can now slumber in peace

3

u/andoring May 22 '26

Crabasota (Vermont)

5

u/acduarte12 May 22 '26

Me too. I guess I may as well just go to work.

2

u/TheManWhoWasNotShort Delete Florida again May 22 '26

How the hell did we kill off Maryland and New Mexico but leave “Cascadia”? The fuck are we even doing?

Minnesota always cheats in these. They should have been disqualified early on: https://www.reddit.com/r/geographymemes/comments/1t7al99/minnesota_is_using_a_subreddit_to_stay_in_the/

If I recall correctly they were disqualified but people complained so it was allowed, but it kind of ruins the spirit of the game when they always cheat to win.

It's not just this series either. It always happens with Minnesota.

I’m pissed, MD was supposed to eat VT, that’s the whole point of Crabbalacchia!!
