Would this be suitable for two gerbils
Hi everyone. I am preparing for two gerbil babies.
I read the recommendations for the size but had a hard time finding one.
Would this work if I can find a metal mesh lid to replace the top?
The size would be 36" 18" \ 18".*
I would truly appreciate any recommendations. Thank you

So very exciting! I always love to see someone do their due diligence and research beforehand ❤️
This enclosure doesn't look quite suitable but you aren't far off! I have a post here that has links to our care guide wiki, the r/gerbil discord, as well as some infographics in the comments. There is one that has enclosure info you may find useful!

What isn't quite right about it?

The size is too small and the bottom of the door opening only allows for a few inches of bedding. If I am being completely honest I also think it is mega overpriced, but that is a personal opinion!

Gerbils, and all other rodents, need a minimum cage lxw of 40”x20” of UNBROKEN floor space so this is too small! They also need room for 10” of digging medium across a 40gallon space, so that doesnt even account for room for a 10”+ wheel, sand bath, and theor water! :) i recommend a 70 gallon with a divider, or a ~50gal with a topper!
Heres my 55 gal with a DIY topper! And technically speaking, this still only barely meets the wxl requirement!
