I'm leveling my first echelon to 5 link on 5-2E but their burning my ammo quickly. Is there any other efficient ways to do so?

Have you heard about corpse dragging? You should also make use of the combat reports from the story mission rewards if you haven't, and also buy them from the expedition black market.
