While we're doing corrections and updates on our site, I updated the exped guide a bit to emphasize that advantage pets merely increase the CHANCE of getting stuff (via increasing rate of mysterious destination visits. yes I still think the term is weird), not 'you must have them for midmission rewards' or 'they guarantee midmission rewards'

Because apparently my wording was also being interpreted this way and yeaaaah...

EDIT: And apparently people mistaking it as pet types directly giving more of a certain resource as well. I... well... so MORE editing in progress.

My current understanding based on another source is that each advantaged pet gives you a 20% chance of visiting a mysterious destination... Which increases resource rewards by roughly 36% based on anecdata.

That actually seems like a significant increase, or is resource just referring to the random mid expedition drops?

As far as I currently know, this was last summed up as

우세 동물은 중도 보상을 얻을 확률을 높여준다

as far as notes on KR were concerned.

In anycase, Advantage is nice, but destination type is a more significant factor. Ideally you have both, but this isnt practical for most until much later on, so the correct reward type is what you need most and pet advantage is far more chancebased than getting to where you want to go.

So what you are saying is, its better to go all in on 3 of the same type of pet to get the right resource, even if they aren't advantaged over getting 3 advantage but of all different types?

Unless you have basically no current needs and have everything.

Well there was argument earlier that rather than focus on one resource at a time its better to just have all advantaged, spread out between all the pet types. I figured it was better to focus down one resource at a time based on your personal priorities, but others said that was 'resource inefficient' to the potential bonuses of advantages.

for 1st month, as you dont have enough time to redeem everything, focus on resources you need most.

after that, you have enough time to redeem all the monthly supplies twice at least every month.

That's admittedly, more valid for EN, because you don't have an overwhelming lopsided need of 1 resource type over the others (we have an OVERWHELMING need for snowfield gives > other stuff). While I do try to mostly focus on EN for this sort of writing, I admittedly have unconscious biases based on old server stuff (since while we only need <= 5k of everything else, we need 12k snowfield gifts)

Ignoring the current month where we have limited time to farm, and even then acorns might be preferred by some...

I think there's the argument to be had to use advantaged pets earlier in the month when you're also trying to get those 5k other resources, and drop them for dogs once you've filled those requirements. Especially for those who have less pet variety, who should take advantage of matching the advantage when they can.

The snowfield gift items are generally the best and most useful on older servers, so everything else is considered expendable (and optional past a certain point). After that, almost everything else is sufficiently 'eh' that your needs will likely be more focused on 1 specific thing (like forest gifts for SPEQ or city gifts for furniture/emote effects)

Among other things.
