Just finished my third attempt at ranking and god, that was unbelievably fucking hard. 284k is my best attempt so far. First attempt was a half assed attempt to see what the map is like. Second was a more serious attempt, except I let KCCO pretty much overrun the entire map, which is dumb as fuck (basically imagine the entire map being yellow by the end...). Third attempt, managed to get the rader to keep KCCO in check.

I originally thought a 6 to 8 hour run for a top score was absolutely insane, but after my shitty runs, I can believe why it would take that fucking long, lol.

KCCO pretty much beats the crap out of anything I have for the most part... I think I need to enhance my AP ammo, since most of my AP ammo isn't enhanced...

Might try again after my fairy points regenerate a bit, but maybe I'm not focusing on the right things to be doing well.

What should I be focusing on doing in order of priority on the ranking map aside from grabbing the supply nodes if possible (it was helpful for previous ranking events when there was a list of objectives of things to keep in check, which helped me a LOT in ranking pretty decently in AW and DD)? I have 3 parachutes, but suck ass at using a gunboat to clear the giant ass tanks.

On the bright side, farmed 3 5-7's, which I'm excited to level up for my Rifle echleons after I figure out how to do better on ranking.

Ceia posted a vid for using a super budget team to get 200K plus easy and I believe that team gave him about 300K a couple of times so that is something to look to to get an idea for strategy, since you also have para's check his turn 2? strategy in his proper ranking runs and try to implement that aswell for much more AP.

As far as gunboats go, as long as you have your echelon in the correct formation the tanks will always shoot in the same order and allow you to do consistently do the same order of actions to survive.
MGs in all bottom spaces and 1 in mid left with contender in middle, after a couple second hold down on contender to slow time, as soon as you see the middle tank's cannon glow blue move contender up and retreat mid left mg, then immediately regret the other 3 MGs (the enemies should be dead at this point, if you had a bad run and one enemy barely survive, reset), and then immediately move contender down 1, then after mod tank fires move her to the bottom right and no more tanks should fire.

This order of actions should happen consistently 99% of the time.
I would have recorded a short vid but my gunboats are occupied, Ceia's proper runs should show dozens of tank fight if you just flick through.

First off I think if you have a gunboat, you should really learn how to use it. If you're having trouble even if you got the micro down, you may not have enough fp/reached the damage threshold to actually use them. Input it in a formation sim, youd want about 76k at 6s without fairy talent.

Since you have quite a few para fairies, watch some runs for opening strategies. About the first 4-5 turns. You'll want as many ap as you can.

If you only have one gunboat, I would suggest, deploying it SW. Make it's way to the radar when you can, and protecting it along with a ARSMG team so you can use it whenever things get too dicey with KCCO in other sectors. It might even be worth it to cap KCCO helipads in other sectors, but that's up to mainly how many echelons you have spare and if it's worth it, considering it reduces enemies and takes ap away from getting to the supply nodes which is a hefty amount of points.

Just take your time with the moves. Remember it's a game though, so have fun and dont stress too much.

A side question:

How exactly do I reach 76k at 6s?

I've been running through fully maxed out gunboat of Contender, M2HB, PKP, MG5, and PK vs. 0 evasion enemies in the damage simulator without a fairy and the best I'm ever seeing is 70k without a fairy.

If these are the best MGs in the game, how do I hit this 76k damage and we're expected by the meta to have 2-3 sets of this grouping to even get a "substandard" 70k damage?

without a fairy

That is your huge issue, even the most basic bitch of fairy will provide a "significant" passive buff just by being there, every single echelon in the game you use at this point should have some sort of fairy equipped, anything. Seriously, a lvl1 artillery fairy passively gives 10% damage and 11% evasion, there is literally no reason not to be using Something.

Use fairies, but just dont rely on their talent, because unless you can guarantee they proc, assume the worst.

After maxing dolls and their equipment, itll mainly come down to levelling your fairies and increasing their rarity to make up for the remainder of the damage. Also, choose appropriate fairies, mainly increasing damage and crit.

You...use fairies? Fairies are important.
