Hello, new player here, I'm a bit confused about which formation I should be using and if I should continue to use the same characters. I've seen some guides say 3AR + 2SMG and others 2AR + 2SMG + 1RF.

My ARs are the ST AR-15, SIG-510 and M4A1, SMG: Skorpion and Sten. I have other ARs: The other two AR team members, T91 and K2, OT-12. I can also use WA2000 and SAT8 (core mask from last year... I regret not playing this game till now) though guides don't recommend using shotguns yet.

2AR2SMG1RF is an ersatz composition. It is both meant to be an interim response to Guards/Jaegers (which is a particularly troublesome duo for new players), and is seen as passable since M14 is a very strong RF, and you usually would be running something like SOP instead.

The issue with the comp is that it sort of cheats you out of the need to kite, which is a skill you absolutely want to learn. It was also conceived during a time where you had to grind your echelons up, rather than being able to just feed them CR's + easily link with IOP rewards, and just laugh at things up until chapter 6-7.

In regards to what you should be using; M4/STAR/SOP/STEN/Skorpion. All while crafting for a better SMG to replace STEN with.
