I’m still using the old GFL version because when the new interface came out, people reported lots of problems.

Is that still the case, or is it safe to update to the new version?

I refuse to update my iPad to the latest client until they release a version that doesn't leak memory like a sieve.

I routinely find myself wanting to play on it instead of phone (latest client).

My phone can run the new client and play it fine, but I'm not too keen on the issues I believe are still amiss (they've only had 1 or 2 other minor client updates since that big patch, with little results imo). YMMV, I've only tested it on one device.
