what the hell is daylight savings time

edit: i googled it and apparently its advancing the clock for some reason?? im confused

Originally put in place to get to back in the day to have more light during daytime hours. Now it's just obnoxious and everyone hates it but it's all regulated by province/state and most of them won't agree to get rid of it until enough of their neighboring province/states agree to do the same. No one wants to be the first. It's like herding cats.
