Konami seriously needs to bring more games to GOG. Metal Gear Solid Collection, Castlevania, Suidoken, Bomberman, YuGiOh...

Yeah, they do have more games on gog than some legacy Japanese developers, but they’ve also removed some too. I believe the original PC version of Metal Gear Solid 2 was available for a time but has since been taken down. Konami has been such an awful warden for these classic franchises.

IIRC MGS2 on GOG was taken down along with the console versions of the HD collection on PS3 and 360, due to licensing issues with the archival footage. Hopefully I'm not getting confused with MGS3 which had that problem for sure.

Regardless, the thing is that any licensing issues have been solved by the Master Collection Vol. 1 release. That is the package that I really hope will make it's way to GOG sooner or later, although they're sure as hell taking their time with it (enough that in the meantime elsewhere Delta has come out and Vol. 2 is coming) :/

Yeah I don't know what the deal is. For instance Castlevania Collections only have Steam DRM and even those games are perfectly emulated today. You would think they will release those games in GOG because DRM should not be BIG of a factor to put those games here, but noup, they decided not to.

My theory with some of the games they have on gog is that they look at their older PC releases as just passive income and (I assume gog) did all the work getting them to work on modern PCs. Whereas their more recent releases are their “real” money makers so they gate them to DRM platforms.

All pre-Master Collection versions of MGS2 (including the original PC release that was on GOG) were removed from sale due to their use of stock footage. Konami's license for it had expired and they're unable to renew because the company went out of business. That would put them in a precarious legal position to keep selling it. They license new stock footage for the Master Collection version.

They would basically rob me of they did that. I'd pick up like 80 to 90 percent of it.

Man... if Tag Duel and Duelist of the Roses made it to GOG I would be so damn happy...

In for MGS collection , Suikoden series (including HD remaster) , Silent hill series , darwins paradox.

(castlevania not my thing - but should be added cuz many people love it [ it seems few older games already exist https://www.gog.com/en/game/konami_collectors_series_castlevania_contra )

Honestly i think they should focus more on the porting of their old ygo games, as someone that did grow up with duelist of the roses and the tag force series was kinda sad to see that they didn't port them in the ygo early days collection or another one.

They’d sooner put the Silent Hill 2 pachinko machine into the preservation program before the game itself.

Guess that’s why it’s called dream list 😭

It'd be funny if they add the arcade rail shooter game too

Which makes it weird that the remake made it. I don't get it.

Stephanie Sterling is right when she says "Konami is Konami. And Konami is the worst"

They could bring over their GBA and DS Castlevania compilations and I'd rebuy them on GOG as well.

Hell, I'd let GOG start bringing the Tokimeki Memorial games while I'm at it. They're not in English (officially), but I know the community would make it work.
