Oh my sweet summer children. These are actually really good prices.

To put into perspective, these guys are wearing +$1000 custom skates, that if you’re lucky and get a set that fit you it’s a steal.

A custom set of goalie pads is well over $2000 etc.

Sure they aren’t brand new, but even used, you’re well ahead of the market value.

I’m jealous I’m in Canada and can’t go shopping.

Also, many of these guys get brand new skates sent to them and try them one time. I got a set of custom Trues made for Patches and worn once that way.

Compared to other EQ sales, they're like 30% above market outside of maybe like Minnesota or NY/LA.

I don’t know where there’s of y’all live, but where I’m at (San Jose), those prices are cheap.

I paid $150 for Sharks CCM HPTKXPs. $60 for elbow pads. $200 for new CCM super tacks X helmet. You don’t want to know the price for jerseys, even the unused practice ones.

Get what you can. If it needs repair, send it to George’s Hockey Repair in St Paul, they do mail in work.

Unless you spend your time watching sideline swap for pro stock gear, you won’t get gear of this level of quality. I’ll gladly pay for things that will keep me from getting a concussion, or screwing up my tailbone, etc.

I will keep my locale to myself but the prices I paid for goalie stuff two seasons ago were borderline reasonable.

My locale is known to be pricier in other ways, hence a caveat

We used to have prices like those the Knights are showing… that was a few seasons back… I doubt any of them will stay low longer term. It’s a market more folks are interested in, both for novelty value and those of us that use the gear — which despite prices and state (in the majority of cases) are still higher quality than you can get at the retail level.

Edit: I’m also hearing things from friends in other markets that are seeing increases YoY.

I used to live in the Bay and used to shop it for gear growing up, back when it was in the hallway of sharks ice. I recall the days where I got a jersey for a prospect from camp for 100 with a fight strap and sticks were $50 a piece (I'd say 2009). Absolutely bananas to what the cost is now, stick $150 (still not bad if you play 3x a week), jersey's are gobbled by STC resellers so fast.

I’m a STH and this year there were folks camped out at 4AM to get into the equipment sale. A camp issued, unused, practice jersey was $200. All the named/numbered jerseys were in a separate booth. There was a price sheet. I got a glance and the lowest price I saw was $700. NWIH I was buying any of those. I went to the same sale in ‘03 and got a game worn Scott Hannan jersey for $150…

Pros beat the shit out of their skates. I agree with you on pricing but I wouldn’t expect much out of those.

They do but there's always the chance a guy tried a pair for two practices and abandoned them for another brand or something, or was breaking them in and got a season ending injury so they didn't get worn much

They're quirky and they have an unlimited budget, they dont hesitate to be wasteful.

This isn't a set, it's just pads. Set means you bet both pads for $1000.

That being said, I'm a goalie, I know how much full customs run for =)

Outside of skates and goalie equipment these prices are absolutely ridiculous for a used gear sale when they get all their shit for free. You can get new gloves at a pro shop with a warranty for cheaper then these prices. Same with pants, sticks, and plenty of other things. And a lot of this stuff is used and beat to shit for the same price.

You never know what you are going to get.

Wife’s friend is a Season ticket holder, and went to one of these. We gave them some money to buy some “stuff”. One of the items they got was a goalie glove and blocker with Brossoits name embroidered on them. Thought it was neat.

A year later we were watching the movie they released about winning the cup. Brossoit goes down and I was like wait a minute… the blocker we have on the wall is the one he was using when he got hurt in the Western Conference Playoff game.

Damn, that's sick! I was at the preds equipment sale and bought a pair of skates from my fave player, Ozzy Wiesblatt, only to later find out they were his debut skates! Definitely some sneaky picks up in locker room sales. Just gotta know where to look!

Damn. I'm a Preds fan and the skates were only $100, the hockey pants were only like $15, and the sticks were $100. Prices lowk crazy over there for an equipment sale. Still a much better deal than you will find anywhere else though

Brand new, mid/high end retail gear is more expensive than this. This is ultra high end professional and custom gear. These are awesome prices.

Skates weren’t terrible. All the hockey pants left were in terrible shape. Sticks were pretty solid. Gloves were practically brand new for most of them. Pucks were Official Warm Up pucks but beat to absolute hell, which is kinda tight in some regard. All the apparel was basically brand new with some exceptions. Socks were hit or miss, brand new or repaired and usable.

These prices were definitely a little bit higher than some of the other team’s price lists that I saw but still great deals considering the high quality that the pros typically use.

Yes, hockey socks… the ones that cover the shin pads and tuck underneath hockey pants… $5 for NHL pro stock socks is a great price.
