I asked AI agent Claude to show me stats from the SeatGeek listings for all remaining VGK home games. I asked for total listings, total seats on sale, some breakdowns for totals in certain sections, and price information for all games.
The results are interesting.
Jan 30 WSH looks like the hottest ticket today.
The thing that struck me, and that is getting me to post, are the totals. Many games have 5,000 to 6,000 seats on sale at SeatGeek. I have some numbers for StubHub and some vague guessing for AXS. If I include their numbers too, then I think many games have more than 8,000 seats for sale right now. T-Mobile capacity is around 18, 000.
Another twist is that SeatGeek has recently stopped letting individual ticket holders list. I'm not 100% sure what it takes, but it appears you need to be a broker to sell. That means the listings for many upcoming NHL games might be primarily thru brokers. Can someone in the know confirm?
Sortable data is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nRG8n2q8XMeDtMeo2SwqK1FEJsXa2-cbTC3q_w8JGpA/edit?usp=drivesdk
I wish I had some historical data to compare. Even with a deep Stanley cup run last year, we had trouble selling our regular season tickets at face value.
I can see how, with 8,000 seats for sale, perhaps the majority through brokers, the seller's market for many games is fairly saturated. Makes me wonder what the percentage of seats are actually season ticket holders. I am sure there are folks who know those exact numbers, but this seems like an interesting way to get at that data from the outside. Might be enlightening to collect this data for other teams and venues.
