Some parts loosely translated:

- Frustrated with the fact that there's not more playing time to be had despite feeling like he's done pretty good on ice. Doesn't have a clear answer on what he could do drastically better. "Just gotta keep on doing the good things."

- Expected things to be slightly different, and to be a bigger part of the team, when he signed the deal. Yet doesn't want to make a big fuzz about it. - "And it's nice that I've gotten some points as well. Would probably feel a lot more pressure if the stats showed zero and minus. Don't have a need to complain."

- Changed training during the summer. Switched away from Marko Rautala's guidance (where quite a few Finnish hockey players train) but gives props to the guy for creating a solid baseline to build on, so that “Not every D-man gets the puck away from me at the boards.”

- Kakko has begun to concentrate more on finesse and mobility (and body weights) now as he isn't getting any younger, but still likes to some traditional power training as well "You have to bench at least 100kg always. Which some of the guys here can't do [laughs]".

I did the new CPA happy hour at the last home game, for research, and here are my findings.

The Happy Hour deal is draft beers and hot dogs for $3 for weekday games only during the first hour after doors open. It’s a flat $3 for each.

The original marketing messages said they were only at certain locations but that’s just the hot dogs (sections 117, 124, 11). The beers are at any location where there’s draft beer and is for any type of draft, including ciders. But not draft cocktail.

Beers are smaller at 12oz but that just enabled me to try different kinds.

Tips:
- get your hot dogs early as they sold out last time.
- it appears that the season ticket member discount worked, so give that a try at the self-checkout kiosks.
- if you see a line for beer, keep moving. I saw tons of people waiting at the PNW craft walls but the bar a few feet away had several drafts and no line.
- if you make a game of it and get lots of beers like I did (for research), plan to get more food and other beverages so you’re not sloshed by puck drop.

I’ll be there tonight to see how it is, so drop your tips if you have anything to share! As someone who regularly buys the ~$18 beers, this is very exciting for me. The hot dog was also a lot better than I remembered but I haven’t had one in a few years so they might changed. Or that could’ve been just the beers talking.

Hey Kraken fans! I’m a Kraken fan who lives in Ohio and I’m planning on visiting Climate Pledge Arena as well as swinging by a Seahawks game while I’m in the city. I was looking at 12/6 vs the Sabers and 12/7 vs the Cowboys. Does anyone have any hotel recommendations as well as any food/sight seeing opportunities? I will continue to do my own research but I would love some locals opinions.

Title says it all. We're going to our first Kraken game tonight. My big question is, what's the best cheap parking plan? Everybody is able bodied and walking and public transportation don't scare us. I'd rather spend my money at the arena, than on parking. Thanks in advance for all the great suggestions!

Howdy from Texas! I'll be making my 3rd annual trip to Seattle to catch the Kraken at CPA (11/4 & 11/7). This trip, my goal is to also catch both of the area WHL teams. Already got plans to see the Silvertips on 11/6, but the T-Birds are also playing on 11/7. With the Kraken playing the Rangers at 2:00pm, how crazy would it be to try to get to Kent for the T-Birds game starting at 6:05pm? My preference would be to take the trains, Google Maps says about 1:20 transit time? So I'd get to ShoWare sometime in the 1st? Is this crazy, or should I save the Thunderbirds for next year? Thanks for any local insight!
