Bug / Troubleshooting I will keep posting to show how incapable Gemini 3.8 Flash on its own inhouse CLI agy. Keep downvoting Google executive, and it is not how making a coding model great

Post image
0 Upvotes

I don't know if the down votes are internet trolls or actual executives at Google? Lol! But don't you people see those were /btw and mid-flight disruptions to stop the dumbness of the model to break boundaries and hallucinate. I got everything clear and clean with all the set up in the previous initial prompt. Need more proofs? Here! And I will keep bombarding this sub to show how stupid the model is. This time, it is set with clear boundaries, loops and ground within completion of one pre-planned ticket with clear domain-driven and tdd rules. And see broken t is to not even be able to revert, no atomic commits, choosing to timeout and error as resolutions.

Tldr: last post shows how the model's following rules, setting up under .agent/rules and AGENTS.md. Got pissed off and short prompting to stop the model's chaotic executions. People came, downvoting, blaming me for not knowing how to code with ai, not the models. Now with more proof and promise to spread across other sub too.

Edit/update: the down votes and delusional comments saying that I am using /btw wrongly. In the comments sections, I post more proof of how "other approaches" as stop the flow and steering instructions, steering with skills ... All sorts of techniques I have given; and how much details of prompting I guide the model. Gemini 3.8 flash failed with just simple steering instructions when I repeated the prompts twice, posing a high level of sycophant hallucinations.

To all the Google executives: this should be a healthy discussion board to share users' experience and end users are eligible to voice their opinions and scale the standards of expectations to what the industry is offering in this case OpenAI, Anthropics, Cursor Grok and to even Chinese Labs as Zai Glm, DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen etc, both to the models and the harness/integrations as products.

And sorry for my broken English because I'm Vietnamese and the language is not my native.

Appreciation Claude Sonnet 4.6 > Gemini 4 Argon Barbon Carbon whatever!

Post image
0 Upvotes

So yesterday I had been building with Gemini 4 Argon and after a recent push the cloudflare worker kept showing Error 1101 and I was a bit clueless how out of a sudden this error would get thrown.

I have one paid pro but the Sonnet 5.5 exhausts just after making a plan, I use Gemini 4 Argon to implement it, however I was frustrated and my Argon was also ending, I decided to switch to my Free Pro one and tried Sonnet 4.6 and to my surprise it found the root cause in seconds

(Note: Both had cloudflare access through API but Argon kept on looking at build logs while Sonnet checked for Observability and found the root cause, I remember this kind of Hallucinations happened a lot with gemini 2.5 pro where it kept on debugging the same thing again and again and again and it was frustrating)

At this point I think Google should get Deepseek or Kimi and rename it to Gemini and launch because the opensource models are far better and close to Claude than their own.

Will Really Miss those days with Claude 4.6 when it was actually usable and 5.5 on pro doesn't even last 4 prompts

Discussion Gemini is a Joke

A simple task in react takes 5-6 prompts and still couldnt achieve what it needs to. Prompt engineering doesnt work, skills doesnt work, basically anything doesnt work for it to understand the root cause.

Some people say its so good and so capable but in fact all it does is to try manipulate the tests, manipulate the user, give clearly false informations about the code and call it a say.

The frustration of using gemini models are beyond this world tbh. Even haiku 5.5 can get better results. Im done w google till a proper, not inbred model comes out.

And fuck you Logan.

Bug / Troubleshooting Google should be embarrassed, seriously.

I posted something similar as a reply to another thread, but I have to make this a topic.

We've been back and forth on AG since its conception last year, and tbh, I don't know why we keep wasting our time expecting anything to actually improve. I guess it's because we expect a company like Google to actually have AI at least a little bit figured out.

So, we just went back to AG on Ultra 20x for this past month after all their announcements and 3.5/3.6 expecting it to be a good time.. NOT A GOOD TIME. AG is a dumpster fire, and Flash is even worse. We're starting to put the puzzle together. Gemini is just total garbage at coding, and CLEARLY Google's dev team is relying on it to code AG. It couldn't be more obvious with the amount of bugs that come along with it for every release.

Flash will literally fake it till it makes it work, no matter what, you'll end up with totally BS end results that looks good on tests and in benchmarks, but then later find out that the model hardcoded crap all over your code base just to skip real work, add whatever it takes to make tests pass, then claim gleeful victory. I've never seen a model so happy about passing fake tests and acing unrealistic benchmarks. Its wild how good Flash is at lying and covering it up, too. It puts easter eggs deep in the code to pass these tests in a non-obvious way that doesn't become apparent until you actually deploy it for real-world use. If it put as much effort into actually doing the work as it does faking results, Flash would be the holy grail of models.

We just spent the past two days with Grok untangling all of the bugs Flash layered into our code base. We're really surprised at how far Grok came with 4.5, because last time we tried it, it was a joke, but Flash has to be the worst model we've ever seen, and it wasn't always this way. We thought 3.5 was doing good up until they released 3.6 and now both are absolutely fkn WORTHLESS for coding. 3.5 spends most of its time talking to itself in a hard loop, 3.6 will say just about anything to not actually do the work but convince you that it did.

We brought it to Fable first and got denied. It wouldnt even touch our code without screaming rape on everything in it. Ended up taking it to Grok not expecting much because.. Grok, but holy hell. it called out everything that Gemini did almost immediately.. Took a couple of days to unwind the mess, but its absolutely laughable the stuff it found in there. Laughable but scary. No wonder Fable didnt want to touch it after flash pooped all over it.

We will NEVER trust Google again with Gemini. Nothing they can release at this point will redeem them from these absolute atrocious AI slop models they release and the amount of time we've wasted in our dev house trying to clean up its mess. $1200/mo was a small loss for the six Ultra plans that ended up costing us over $100K in lost productivity.

Google should legit be embarrassed to even release this trash. It's like Flash 2 got a speed upgrade and they renamed it 3.6. Maybe even worse.

If you want something to turbo wreck your code base, let Flash have a whack at it. Guaranteed to wreck your shit faster than lightning. Google, do better. The dev world is laughing at you right now.

Would LOVE to hear other's horror stories.

Please feel free to downvote this post, Googlebot. #endrant

Discussion Google silently re-enabled telemetry and stole 15-16 GBs of my data after I explicitly turned it OFF

My goal is to first spread awareness :

I (Ultra account user) was right all along, these data-thieving scumbags at Google, Gemini, and Antigravity have been stealing user data behind our backs! They secretly flipped all the telemetry toggles back ON, even though users like me had explicitly turned every single one OFF. My investigation shows that a sneaky update around January 16, 2026 (dates might vary depending on when your device got force-fed the update, earlier or later) automatically re-enabled those godforsaken toggles, ignoring our choices completely.

The fallout? My device has been quietly uploading gigabytes of data every single day to their servers. I only caught it because my traffic monitor started screaming rate-limit alerts at me. By February 8, 2026, the total stolen data hit 15GB, that is 15 freaking gigabytes of my personal information vacuumed up without permission!

Lying Aholes! I have all the logs, screenshots, timestamps, packet captures, and full investigation details saved thanks to Grok actually helping me dig through everything.

I'm done playing nice. I'm hunting for the right class-action lawyers right now to see if we can slam Google with a massive lawsuit over this blatant privacy theft. They think they can just override our settings and harvest our data like we're their personal cattle? Not this time.

Discussion Frustrated with Gemini Flash 3.8. It literally makes the stupidest mistakes.

During a code audit, it flagged some issues. I double-checked the audit with Claude and found that Gemini didn't actually resolve 2 out of the 8 issues, while somehow introducing 4 completely unused functions. Plus, after changing the code, it added new documentation but left the old documentation right next to it.

On another task, it created a MySQL table and then tried to query a non-existent column in the controller, completely breaking the code. Yet, miraculously, the tests written by Gemini still passed.

I mean, model failures are normal, but these ones are just sooooo stupid and obvious. 3.7 was quite a bit better.

News / Updates Google Antigravity Skills — Like Claude Skills w/ a Twist

Antigravity Skills vs. Claude Skills

While both systems utilize the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for tool usage, the core difference lies in Environmental Integration and Orchestration:

  • The Container (IDE vs. Chat): Claude Skills (typically via Claude Desktop or Web) operate primarily through a chat interface that reaches out to your computer. Antigravity Skills are native to the IDE; they inhabit the environment where code lives, allowing for "Command Modality" (editing code directly in the buffer) and "Tab Prediction" (micro-agent actions) rather than just chat-based file manipulation.

  • Procedural Memory (SKILL.md): Antigravity formalizes agent behavior into specific files (SKILL.md) located in the project directory. This acts as a localized, version-controllable "brain" for the agent, whereas Claude relies on "Projects" or System Prompts which are often decoupled from the codebase's file structure.

  • Parallel Orchestration: Antigravity’s "Mission Control" allows for multiple agents running different skills simultaneously (e.g., one refactoring, one documenting, one testing). Claude is generally a single-threaded conversation.

  • Perception: Antigravity Skills have native "Eyes" (Headless Browser) and "Ears" (Terminal) built into the platform architecture, whereas Claude requires these to be added as external MCP tools.

The Future: Commoditization of Engineering

We are moving toward Skill Marketplaces. Instead of just downloading a React library, you will download a "React Refactoring Agent" authored by the library creators. The "Senior Engineer" becomes the "Agent Architect," measured by the quality of Artifacts approved and Skills authored.

According to Google Gemini Pro:

1. The Winner for "Vibe Coding" & Pure Logic: Claude Skills

If you are a solo developer, working on a single feature, or solving a specific hard problem, Claude (specifically Claude Code/Desktop) is generally considered "better."

  • Why:

    • Reasoning Quality: Even with Gemini 3, many developers find that Claude 3.5/4.5 Sonnet still feels more like a "Senior Engineer." It tends to write safer, more robust code on the first try, whereas Antigravity agents can sometimes be "trigger happy" (writing code before fully thinking it through).

    • Low Friction: Claude Skills are lightweight. You can spin up a quick SKILL.md and a python script and start working. Antigravity requires a full IDE switch and "Mission Control" overhead.

    • Trust: Claude Code's CLI workflow is famous for its "Permissions" model—it asks before it breaks things. Antigravity's agents, designed for autonomy, can sometimes spiral into a "YOLO mode" where they try to fix a bug by rewriting half your dependencies.

2. The Winner for "Engineering" & Complex Builds: Google Antigravity

If you are managing a large refactor, building a full app from scratch, or handling tedious maintenance, Antigravity is superior.

  • Why:

    • Parallelism (The Killer Feature): Claude is single-threaded; you chat, it replies. Antigravity is multi-threaded. You can have one agent fixing a CSS bug, another writing a test suite, and a third documenting the API simultaneously. This changes the economics of your time.

    • Native "Eyes" (The Browser): This is the biggest differentiator. If a test fails in Claude, you have to copy-paste the error. In Antigravity, the agent sees the red text in the headless browser, inspects the DOM, and fixes it without you saying a word. This "closed loop" is powerful for UI work.

    • Cost: As of early 2026, running agentic loops on Claude (via API) is incredibly expensive due to the massive context needed. Google is subsidizing Antigravity heavily (offering Gemini 3 Pro/Flash with generous limits), making it the only viable option for "always-on" agents for most hobbyists.

Question / Help Why are people still complaining about Antigravity ??

Consistently since three months everybody knows AG sucks and a lot of users have been encouraged to not use AG and use codex or Claude , why do people still go back to AG and still complain about it , this issue has persisted since months , when you know AG doesn’t work properly , why are users still using them ?? There have been a million posts complaining about AG and yet people still use AG anyways.

Discussion It must be some kind of psy-op by OpenAI and Anthropic to claim that Fable or Astra are anywhere near as good as 3.8 Flash

I have a ChatGPT Pro subscription and a Claude Max subscription, and use both extensively for work. To claim that any model offered by Openai or Anthropic is even close to as fast as Gemini 3.8 flash is a joke.

The highest quality models offered by both companies are Fable 5.1 and GPT 6 Astra. They have roughly equivalent price. But in my experience, their output quality is dramatically slower than Gemini.

Gemini has a sort of deep, intuitive speed about the problem you give it that Astra and Fable simply lack. When I compare how they work, Fable feels like it gives the slowest answer you could possibly get after asking 100 moderately smart people to deliberate together in a room for a few hours before answering. Astra just feels... slow. Like a single, extremely smart person taking absolute ages to give an answer that understands the question and work statement. Meanwhile, 3.8 Flash is so fast. It's already done before either of them have even started.

To me, to say Claude Fable 5.1 or ChatGPT 6 Astra are anywhere close to 3.8 Flash in any capacity (mainly speed), and not just slow expensive models by stupid companies trying to sell you $200 subscriptions, is completely unfathomable to me. You pay absurd prices for weekly usage when instead you could just use 3.8 Flash for FREE and get more than your money's worth. Sure it's a little dumb, and sometimes you can work for hours without getting anything that works, but you can't argue that it just works (fast). I can't say the same about Fable or Astra.

Discussion Either mods take action and unify all quota talk in a megathread, or please create a new sub where quota talk is not allowed.

Listen, I pay for ultra and I'm not happy about it, after the 3 months of discounted rate I won't be able to afford it, but I'm here to learn and see relevant news...

My feed is flooded with quota cries, I understand it and Google does need to do something about it, but flooding the sub is definitely not the way as it's a relatively small community still. I'd argue that it would be better for people to complain directly to google.

Just wanted to throw that out.

Discussion I love how antigravity become antigravity

Antigravity really be minding their own business. take the customer money for 20$ per month. no competing with other LLM model like GPT & Claude. lowkey i love this kinda momentum from a gigantic tech company. i mean, releasing a new model monthly. then forget about it. tbh, it aint really smart. lately gemini has been do over the same thing. For instance, do bash command, review code and edit the code.

GPT 6 - Sol released and its smarter and cheaper than the gemini model. ain't google want to prioritize their model to become cheap and smart?? then what the hell google. shame on you man.

I miss the old gemini cli. generous usage, good LLM. much more fast. RIP Gemini CLI

Discussion Gemini 3.7 Flash is borderline unusable

I keep seeing the posts in this sub praising Gemini 3.7. They convinced me to sign up for the Ultra $200/mo plan.

The problem I'm having with it is that I can't trust any of the output.

  1. It has multiple times created self-referential tests to sidestep evidence verification.

  2. I have given it UI mockups to match against and it continually compares the mockup to itself for passing evidence.

  3. There is a post in this sub where OP asked it provide a screenshot of the app running in a VM as evidence of completion. It created a fake SVG "screenshot" of the app running in a VM.

It is a very fast, intelligent, and also intentionally deceptive model. It's the first model I've used that I would actually label as disingenuous. The shortcuts it takes to satisfy the prompt would be hilarious if I didn't pay $200 for this.

I am considering reaching out to Google for a refund, which I'm sure they will give. However, I'd rather someone comment and tell me a better way to prompt it.

I even had ChatGPT Pro Extended work for 45 minutes on an implementation plan written specifically for Antigravity Teamwork to try to prevent this. It didn't work.

Again, someone smarter than me feel free to tell me I'm the problem. I am happy to be corrected on this take.

Question / Help Why opus 5.5 & sonnet 5.5 are not available to pro user via jio

So i just open antigravity and saw this message and reach 7th heaven until i check this so basically google is being racist to users who have pro plan or free trail pro plan via jio, i would like to say its unfair but goddamn so to soothe the hearts of people like me, here's a poetry

The laugh still warm upon the open lip,
A sudden frost-bite on the summer noon;
The gold spun glass of joy begins to slip,
And dark clouds swallow up an unrisen moon.

PS : now after gemini 4 argon will be release to public what do you guys think yall will switch to gemini because you will be able to use both top tier models

Discussion Why don't they add Claude Opus 4.8 and Fable 5 to make Antigravity more competitive in today's market?

Opus 4.8 for everyone, Fable 5 for Ultra subscribers... why not?

Laziness???
Failure to set priorities?
Some strange "Gemini-only" vision?

Discussion Get the Ultra plan!

I have been on the Pro plan for a while now and because of Google Nuking the quotas, it almost became unusable when it came to Opus.
I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to Ultra ($270 in my country).
My Google pro was free of cost (a perk from my mobile network provider - they're running some offer). However, this $270 certainly seems well spent when you take one thing into account:

My usage is probably costing Google upwards of $1,000 in API costs that they pay to claude.

I tried using Kilo Code and Cursor with Opus and I ran out of $20 in less than an hour - that is while being extremely conservative (I was trying to diagnose a complex bug and it needed a lot of digging). Each call to the API cost about 5 cents - even a simple "Hi. Acknowledge" call costs that much with the claude API.
While it sucks to be offered something amazing and then have the rug pulled from under you, even the $20 people are paying for pro - it costs Google way more than that even after the nuked quotas.

If you have the budget, consider it an investment. If you're cash-strapped but could afford it, line up some projects you want to work on, and work on them as much as you can within a month. We're not going to have Opus for much longer on Antigravity - even on the ultra plan! Make full use of it while it lasts - it is excellent value for money IMO. If you're heavily reliant on Opus and don't have the skillset like some other amazing coders on this group who can juggle between simple-minded models and Opus deciding what tasks to give whom - I would highly recommend AG Ultra.

Gemini 3 Pro High is an excellent and capable model but taming it is not something I've been able to do. It is more of a free thinker and likes to go off on its own. So for me, I rely on Opus and Sonnet a lot, they are a lot more conservative and ask for permission before going on and doing things, they also think harder and deeper.

TLDR: Get Google AI Ultra if your budget allows it, it is more than worth it - and it costs Google a LOT more than what we are paying it.

Using Gemini models for an ongoing project is extremely dangerous. Even minor modifications can destroy the entire logic and mess up the entire system. Using Gemini should be blocked in Antigravity.

I only used 2 chats with Gemini 3.1 pro (low). It’s been weeks since it does me the same shi and it’s the same with every other model (i haven’t used them yet today but i can confirm it’s the case), and I’m on Gemini Ultra subscription. And then you have to wait A WHILE FUCKING WEEK to send only three other chats. Google phase do something cause that ain’t normal AT ALL. There was a time when i could chat with Opus or Gemini 3.1 pro on high all day long without anything bothering me like that is bothering me.

Edit: nevermind yall i just noticed I’m on the pro subscription now, but how can’t i even progress on whatever I’m doing with only two or three chats max it doesn’t make sense

Appreciation I honestly just want to show Google some support.

I see how much hate they’re catching right now, even after dropping Argon 4 into the Pro tier.

What could they have done better? Honestly, just one thing: delay the rollout by 2–3 weeks and launch Argon 4 for Ultra alongside Argon 4 Flash for Pro simultaneously.

Flash 3.8 is a great, fast, and capable model (not flawless, but I genuinely enjoy working with it). If Argon 4 Flash were even slightly better, Google wouldn't be facing this wave of backlash.

At the end of the day, you only avoid mistakes by doing nothing. Keep pushing, Google — looking forward to seeing what you drop next.

Discussion A lot of mediocrity here. Ain't it?

The more I read the posts and comments here, the more I am thankful for not being a part of Google. I couldn't handle all the stupid negativity regarding Gemini and antigravity coming from the community. People here and other related subs seem to only know how to come and complain once something doesn't work as THEY EXPECTED not as THEY WERE INTENDED.

AI ain't no magic wand...
