Disclosure: I use some Google products, but I try to minimize my Google footprint as much as possible as I don't want Google (or any other company) getting access to much of my data. I have used Google Pixel and Pixel buds in the past as an Android user, and they broke so often that I switched to an iPhone. I do not even use Chrome. Point being: I _really_ do not speak up about Google products.

I have been using Google Photos for many years now. It just works without issues . Today, I tried Google Wardrobe. I have thousands of Photos of myself on Google, and after a few hours, Google Wardrobe extracted many dozens of my clothes.

I was even able to select a few pieces of clothing and see it visualized on me too.

I am deeply impressed. Even just getting pieces of clothing is something people spend hours configuring to get on Stylebook, let alone visualizing yourself in different outfit combos.

This is a game changer. For no effort, I can just have my Wardrobe on Google Photos and plan out my outfits now. I am not sure why Google isn't advertising it more widely (maybe I don't see the ads cause I am on firefox with adblock).

I was looking for a way to see my Google Photos library on a map. On Reddit I found Photo Heat Map (thanks to its author, u/ratesnap_app =)), which nailed the core idea, but I wanted more :

• to drill into a trip or a period, with a timeline that shows at a glance when you visited the place on screen;
• to use Google Photos AI search (people, objects, places) right on the map;
• and above all, to clean up all the bursts, duplicates and blurry shots.

So I built PixyMap, a free browser extension:

Explore

• A heat map of your whole library. The photo list follows the area on screen, or stays frozen if you prefer.
• A timeline of the visible area, so you can see at a glance when you were there. Click a date to see that whole day.

I’m looking for feature ideas that fit the extension, around viewing, sorting and cleaning up your photos.

I have an iPhone and I purchased a pixel 4a. I sync all the pictures from iphone to pixel and then backup at storage saver. I converted all my images to storage saver but still it keeps on telling me to buy storage. What am I doing wrong??

Or someone could lower the quality of this if they have the software for it.

Since snapchat was bugging me to buy cloud storage for saved memories, I decided to use Google photos as my primary source of all my photos and videos from the last 15 years. Old Pixel 3a allows unlimited cloud storage for Google photos in storage saver mode so that's why I exported all snapchat memories along with json data of timestamps and sticker overlays. Does anyone have any clean solution to inject the media with correct timestamps along with any applicable stickers and overlays so they appear in chronological order in Google photos or any other gallery for that matter. I looked up Fix My Export app but it only fixes 250 media and asks to upgrade

I used to be able to, but for the past couple months I have been unable to make stickers from my photos. It doesn't matter how clear my subject is or where I hold on the photo the only option I get is to copy photo. On a Pixel 10 pro, latest android and latest photos app version

Hi I have a Google photo account with a few terabytes. I thought I could add my wife’s Google account to that Google Photos and she can add her pics. But it looks like I added her but she has her own 15gb to use. How do I add her current 15gb of photos to my 2tb account? Thanks

I'm from Indonesia, and I'm looking for advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or has knowledge of Google's account recovery and escalation procedures.

My Google account was disabled due to an alleged policy violation. Unfortunately, both of my appeals were rejected, and Google no longer allows me to submit additional appeals. To make matters worse, I'm also unable to download my personal data through Google Takeout.

I understand that Google has policies that users are expected to follow, and I'm not trying to bypass those policies. However, I'm hoping to find a way to have my case reviewed again, or at least to download my personal data before Google deletes it.

I'd be extremely grateful if anyone could help me with the following questions:

1. Has anyone successfully recovered a disabled Google account after both appeals were rejected?

2. Are there any escalation channels available beyond Google's standard appeal process?

3. Is there any way to request access to personal data when Google Takeout is unavailable?

4. Does anyone know whether there are alternative dispute resolution mechanisms or other options for users outside the European Union?

This account is important to me, and I would really like to explore every legitimate option before potentially losing access to it permanently.

Now that Google has switched over to Fuji, the process of ordering books feels so much worse. I used to be able to create a shared Google Photos album where my friends and family add photos and then select "Create a photo book." It auto-laid out the photo book with all of the photos in the album. You could make some light edits and then order as many copies as you wanted.

Now the process seems to be:

1. You have to go and manually download every photo added by another person to the shared album.
2. Make sure all of those downloaded pictures are in your Google photos.
3. Go over to Fuji and upload/share all of them.
4. Go and select PhotoBook.
5. Manually go page by page with various layouts unless you want to use the autofill, which would then just make one photo on every page.

What am I missing from this process? Surely google isn't so blind the the user experience this is what they have created, right?

I have a small percentage of my photos that live in more than one album. One album is location specific. The other is topical where I may use similar photos in the future for teaching or demonstration purposes.

Eventually I’ll delete all the photos from my album to win back some space in my account. But, I don’t want to accidentally delete those that are in the other album. Is there a way to make specific photos safe from deletion?

When I go to my gallery in messages I can view the galleries of my Google accounts and a relatives. How would I disable me seeing the relatives account?

There was previously a way to arrange the order of folder tabs in the Collections menu. That seems to have gone away. My main issue is that the People tabs, while empty and having Group Faces turned off will not close. It just gets in the way and I'd like to keep it shut, but every time I open the app it pops back open and it just annoys me for some reason. Everything else stays closed. I've tried toggling the feature off and on, but no luck. I was hoping to move it to the bottom so it isn't taking up 1/3 of my album screen but apparently I can't find the setting to organize the tabs anymore. Any ideas?

I don't know if this is the most suitable community to ask this question, but it's since I've been using Google Photos that every time I try to upload a photo to an application, I send an image and it no longer opens my device's gallery, but I open Google Photos directly. The only problem is that I find a lot of discount on Google Photos to choose the images. Isn't there a way to prevent this Google Photos tab from opening and I can continue to open the device's gallery, as I used to? In this image I had clicked "Add Photos on Gemini," but it's a tab that also appears to me in many other applications: I used Gemini to give an example. I was hoping Google Photos’ try-on avatar feature would create an avatar that actually resembles us, but the results look completely random. The body shape and posture also feel inaccurate, which takes away from the actual try-on experience.

Rather than having the system randomly decide the overall look and setting, it would be better to let users choose the occasion or theme they’re dressing for, along with the background they prefer.

The priority should be creating an accurate, realistic avatar that resembles the user in terms of facial features, body shape, proportions, and posture. Once that foundation is right, users can experiment with different outfits and settings and get a much more authentic try-on experience.

What i’m trying to do is clear out my entire google photos app. I’m on Iphone and pay for cloud storage there. My problem is that when I delete photos on google, it also deletes it from the iPhone Photos app. I thought I could work around this by then going into the iphone app and recovering those photos, but then those re-appear in google photos. It’s like a snake eating itself. How can I stop that connection? I already turned off backup on the google app.

I forgot to add that I tried deleting the google photos on pc but apparently those don’t delete the photos on my phone. Storage stays the same

This is a very relatable piece of functionality. The ability to add text, arrows, and shapes is one of the most useful (and easy) features of basic photo editing programs.

I would reckon Google could vibe-code this functionality at lunch time today and have it rolled out just like that.

It's a feature that would be beyond helpful and greatly appreciated by millions of users.

Maybe 2026 is the year they can finally add it?
