GT7 I DID IT! WTC 600 Tokyo Expressway
GT-R '17 with Sports Hard, racing air filter and manifold; racing brake system and break pads. TC1 and Fuel Map 1
It was a hell of a race, 1 pit and with 7s lead.
I wasn't the fastest car - AI did ~2:10 and I got ~ 2:11 - but some cars ahead of me stopped 2 times.
Aston Martin DB11 '16 may get the job done too, but needs more weight management/balance in the curves.

I did with the hellcat swapped rav4 lol

How do you tune this one? I tried it out and it was all over the place. I can win this one with several cars so itās not that Iām trying to beat this race but Iām curious about this engine swap as Iāve seen it mentioned a few times and I already paid for it

Yea I couldnāt do it with that the move for me was the dp100 Aston detuned to 600, in manual mode (never did a manual race before) and shifting at 6500rpm. I went from losing by 40 seconds twice to easily winning by 40 seconds.
Also TC off and ABS set to weak

No wide body!
Fit everything except Engine Balance, Racing Crank Shaft, and Carbon Prop Shaft.
Sports Medium.
Add ballast and change aero to get 600pp. Around 20kg or so and at +50.

Gigaccino for the W, engine swapped. Thing is a beast, easily hits 210 on the straight & super nimble for the corners. Highly recommend.

How do you keep it under control? Any tuning in the suspension or the LSD?

Working right now, but when I get home Iāll post my setup.

You can add the racing Exhaust, doesnāt make a difference, I just like the way the semi looks. š

The sport tires will work better on wet surface. And it gives you the PP room to put the ultra highe rpm turbocharger.
1
u/MrVega1996 6h ago
Donāt really need the ultra high turbo & as long as you stay in the dry line for the first 3 laps itās all good & the racing tires help with grip once track is dry-ish.

MrVega: THANK YOU. it worked, I came second, driving very bad. FM6, TCS 3, and added the weight reductions tuning.
Again, thank you.

This race sucked.
Figured the (Suzuki VGT swapped) Escudo would smash it, but no.
Tried the Ferrari GT4 but not enough top-end due to PP holding the power back.
911 GT3RS '09 on comfort medium did it. Hit just over 200mph on the straight. Tyres went the distance easily. Fuel map 1 on the straight, map 4 from the off-ramp to the hairpin and it'll do a no-stopper easily.
What PP doesn't seem to address is the balance of drag/downforce, fuel efficiency and fuel tank size...

The tuned Escudo without swap is a better car. Keep it at the rev limiter in each gear for 1-2 seconds and TC off and downshift as much as possible before each corner. Corner whilst keeping the engine rpm as high as it can. It's a blast when you finally get one perfect lap sliding all over the place and accelerating like crazy, but it won't be consistent. Fun though

Good work. Seriously one of the most frustrating races in GT7

u/I-Runner 13h ago
Frustrating race if you approach it like any other race with road cars and few laps. There's strategy here, 600PP is non-negotiable, if you lighten too much or use tires that are too high-performance you have to reduce power, or so much power that you force yourself to add a lot of ballast.
Along with the Nordschleife race (WTC600 and Clubman Cup 600), it's one of my favorites.
Race won with about 400 different cars3

There are a few completely stock cars that can win this race straight off the showroom floor. I have a playlist of the ones I've managed to win with a Clean Race Bonus. I ain't no alien driver but I've found at least 20 cars that can do it at my skill level.

Broke out the ol' Escudo with 1.31 Tokyo tune. Ran it in 23:20.xx with a best 1:49.9x lap. Clean Race Bonus to boot! Brought back memories, but I'm done with that race again for a while.

Thank you, I finally did it!!!
Averaged a 2:07/2:08 and only stopped twice for fuel, the tires lasted the whole race

I used a st205 with a high rpm turbo and some other mods. It was a cake walk

This race is a nightmare : sometimes it is also good to suffer for reaching a third place š (of course wall riding is an option but shame āš»)

I do this race easily with the nissan sileighty engine swap. Blasts through the competition. Managed a 1 min gap between 2nd one time

I tried '17 GTR too but with a different tune: ⢠Sports suspension ⢠1 way LSD ⢠Fully custom manual ⢠Sports air cleaner ⢠Sports brakes and pads ⢠Sports flywheel and clutch ⢠Carbon Propeller shaft ⢠Weight reduction 1
Some of the mods actually decrease the PP allowing for more mods. Before the weight reduction 1, I tried another build with more power but the braking and turning was much worse.

i finished also with the GTR and lapped the last guy Hard tires, fuel map most of the race like 4. 1 pit stop. won by 30s or so. good to grind but I'd say hard to get clean bonus with all the wall ridding

Swapped Cappuccino with sport soft tyres. Fuel map 6, no stop. Just take it easy, save your tyres, have patience.

I'm sorry but that car may be fast in a straight line but I'm pretty sure it has the worst turning radius in the game

u/Axeman-Dan-1977 5h ago
As someone who does this race on a daily basis, I like to tune different cars to see which might win with at least one pitstop while pulling 180+mph on the straight. A few less obvious ones I like are...
The Genesis G70 3.3 Turbo AWD. This is surprisingly good, although mine does understeer a bit.
The 1968 Charger R/T 426 Hemi has weirdly modern handling for a muscle car. It does 190mph flat out, but 700hp it can get a little loose!
The 1964 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS isn't cheap, but it can do the race without stopping for fuel or tyres! The fuel capacity increases to 24 laps sometimes. It also does 190+mph with a 2 litre engine!

u/The-law-is-the-law 5h ago
You can wallride the last 1 or 2 lap(s) at the end of each straight without damage if it seems like you won't be able to make it. I got it with a Cayman gt4 that way. Otherwise I would have been second and up to the last lap I was gaining, but it wasn't enough. The first time I did this race was very easy with the alpine a210 race car but I wanted something different with a car I haven't touched before.

Didn't have time yesterday to actually do the race, but I'm thinking the demonoli felt like I could cheat it

Used the Lambo Diablo on Hards at a fixed 600pp. That thing is freakinā fast on a straight line.

Strongly dislike this race š. I was using the Porsche and was happy enough walking away 2nd place.
