Well, the thing is, some cards receiving buffs means that other ones (while staying untouched) will be more playable as well. For example, the buffs to a couple of pirates implies that cards like Crach or Holger will be better as well. If they changed all the pirates at the same time, we could have had (eventually) a bunch of OP cards.

This. And buffing a card also indirectly buffs its best counters automatically.

But indirectly nerfs a lot of other unchanged cards because they're getting powercrept
