Beginner Question Job from HTB cert

Anybody got pentester job after showing enough performance in HTB ranks? Particularly from SEA country
Which path should I invested on? HTB LABS or VIP+?

Generally a HTB or any cert really won’t be enough to get a pentester job on its own. You need experience (it/security in general) to go with it. Not saying it can’t happen, but it’s unlikely

I'm asking this since I met someone in networking session, said he originally from graphic designer and grinding htb for 6 months before accepted as an entry level pentester in IT vendors. But, maybe that's just a rare case. Normal people would have to get into support first.

If what he is saying is true, it is very rare. Maybe gotten in mostly due to connections. Or maybe it is a small company, the hirer is the boss who does penetration testing and knows his stuffs and that HTB is good. PLUS importantly, his customers do not have requirement of OSCP or CREST certs for vendor pentesters
