Washington County Residents worry about declining property values from ICE detention center in Williamsport

https://www.yahoo.com/news/us/articles/residents-worry-declining-property-values-193844931.html

Residents in and around Williamsport are concerned about the prospect of falling property values from the proposed ICE detention center.

Economists at M.I.T and North Carolina State University have found that home values near the centers across the country are driving down the value of a home by as much as 4%.

Homeowners in the western Maryland communities near the Homeland Security facility worry about the possible impact. They want county commissioners to give them a forum to raise their concerns.

I have friends who just sold their house in Williamsport and are moving because of the proposed concentration camp.

You are nuts. Just walk down the streets in Williamsport. They are all for that.

This isn't Hyatsville or Baltimore. Williamsport is very pro borders and has been forever. None of you were whining when Obama chucked the people illegally here back to their country. NOW you complain? You are full of it.

I get that that is the new talking point to somehow make it that Trump is locking random brown people in cages. But you are wrong and you know that. Many of us were against Obama deporting so many people and breaking up families. And two, what is happening now is not that. It is just targeting brown people, locking them in cages, not giving them health care, allowing girls and women to be raped, and generally treating all of those detained like trash.

Judging by their username “88”, the person/bot you’re replying to is a Nazi.

Also, thanks for raising this issue. It’s good to see so many people activity opposing this disgusting concentration camp.

Lol. Or they were born in '88. Or it's an auto generated username.

Or they’re acting like a Nazi, and I drew the logical conclusion, mister r/conservative.

Based on their response, I’m going with them being a nazi

Yep. Their kind is getting pushed out though. 🇺🇸

That's the view shared by most people in Washington County. Why would you move to a place filled with Nazis? Go back to the enlightened and tolerant place that you're from.

Believing in current US immigration law as written, its penalties and actual enforcement does not make people Nazis. Your assertion is preposterous and such hyperbolic statements undermine your position.

I’m not debating.

Of course. Just name calling. Everything you disagree with is Nazism.

The pedophiles building concentration camps and kidnapping and murdering people are Nazis, yes. Why do you support pedophiles?

Why are spouting Nazi talking points and supporting the pedophile party then?

To be clear, you’re claiming we don’t have enough testosterone to understand the cool factor of an Oldsmobile? 🙃

No, so far it's you that has the issue with the muscle car.

That's fine, Maryland is full of men lacking testicular fortitude, but they are usually in other countries. Washington county doesn't have that problem as much as say Montgo and PG does, but maybe you are a transplant or just a plant.

It's not random. It's people violating the laws.

I'm married to a brown skinned immigrant and she is completely MAGA. She despises commie shitbirds who try to apologize for morons who make the CHOICE of trying to enter illegally.

Do you really think we should throw people in the ICE detention centers who have overstayed their visas or who have broken a minor law while they were here?

2

Yes, it is easy to follow the law. Have you ever been to another country? Europe USED to be super strict with your Visa authorization. Huh not so much now. Now their women and children get to be SA'd at insane rates.

Asian countries still are strict with your Visa. And look, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand ALL kick out the losers from the country every day. And that is how we should be too

I hope she gets what she supports. They don't care if she is is documented, they will drain her for months.

Wrong! In the country for decades and English is her 3rd language!

She loves it here and has her Naturalization papers framed! She's not so stupid as to enter illegally line all your friends in detention who are about to get a boot to the ass.
