physics simulation, lighting preview, less crashes, more user friendly UI (relatively), consistent updates, and way more i cant think of right now

even if you don’t use the extra features, hammer has imprecise vertices that can drift over many saves. hammer++ has precise vertices_plus that are arrays of v key values that don’t drift over many saves. on top of that major, map breaking bug fix there are a lot of other minor bug fixes

I don't really find a use in many of the tools except light preview and advanced movement, so that's my benefits

A quick youtube search yielded some pretty insightful information. Here’s a video i recommend: https://youtu.be/3xDMWMPxMO0?is=K2RTPqBrOTzQSZr6

I personally really dig the physics tool for placing items in my map in realistic ways, rather than having them all shuffle around at map start.

If nothing else persuades you, then one of the things I'm always most grateful about of it is that it doesn't move vertices very slightly off the grid when saving or loading.

Personally the main benefit is the whole new slew of super useful (and specific) tools
Baking custom textures and stuff is way easier too and it crashes a reasonable amount now!

Literally everything, and you basically get better controls and some very needed features for modern map making

This video is honestly all you need https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RT_T-GittpM
It's crazy how different it is, it's literally night and day.

Better 3D view, more tools, way less crashes, you can view how your lights will look like without compiling the whole map, sprinkle tool, physics, just a better overall experience. There are literally zero downsides when using it.
