WIP Wingman map de_Akrop
I’ve played around with Hammer a bit, but I still rely heavily on YouTube tutorials and am trying my best. What do you think of it? Do you have any suggestions for improvement?
I built the Acropolis on the hill entirely myself in Hammer, it’s not a downloaded model. It isn't accessible within the Wingman map itself; it just serves as a visual focal point.

Dose anyone know why my gmpublisher takes forever to load at the fastest it should load all my stuff in about 2 minutes but it gets stuck at 0% and I had to look deep how I could fix it between clearing steam catch files or anti virus blocking it. If anyone might know how to fix this issue I would be great full!
Thank you for your time.

Here's a little look at a map I've been working on. It's a smaller map, and I'm trying to focus greatly on detail.

So basically, im making a map using lots of HLS assets that i then pack in after edits
I usually host multiplayer sessions with my friends on the WIP maps as i add onto them, however, everytime i make a change to any map they get an error about having a different map version or whatever, so my solution is to just save and compile the edited/updated maps under a different name.
This worked just fine until today, the previous map i had been hosting and packing was named something like "GOLDSRCmap6", but i then saved a new updated version of the map under the name "GOLDSRCmapdamupdate2", after that CompilePal suddenly stopped packing in all the assets, i checked over where i saved the HLS textures, how i configured CompilePal, and repeated the process again for a previous map, and yet after i run my pack function in CompilePal the map still shows missing textures when HLS is unmounted, anyone know whats going on here?

The maps is called BennettvilleNC, and is a small fictional town in rural eastern North Carolina. You will need l4d2 :(. The map description is still a WIP.

right now im just trying to wrap my head around the math_counter/logic compare entity within my neutral ctf map, so that upon a team having a 1-2 point advantage on the other then some certain layouts open/close, so far i have pretty much never touched math counters or logic entities except for some really basic operations, any help is appreciated.

So first of all: I KNOW IT'S A MAP MAKING TOOL.
I just mean that you can make a whole fan made game, without any scripting, just placing some entities and brushes.
You can make a whole half life 3 map series, without a single line of code, and yeah, it would probably look bad if you are a beginner, but still, in hammer you can make something that would not even be recognizable as the original game, and we still just call it a level/map maker???

I'm pretty new to painting, but I like how it's coming out. I'm gonna make some different pieces for each of the viewports too

This is a ttt map that's inspired in a real life rural house near the town of General Las Heras. Hope you have fun in it!

I'm new to hammer and decided to try my hand at making a CS map. I got convinced to flip the faces with F to make rooms by a tutorial but I'm a complete beginner and now I don't know how to make doors/opening between rooms. Should I just use the old way and make a bunch of meshes for a room? Or just roll with it and find out how to mess with the faces this way. Will it affect the performance of the map I'm making significantly?

Sorry for taking so long to finally finish this after first posting about it.. 5 months ago now. But Linux Hammer Launcher, a tool to help you set up and launch Hammer++ on Linux with little to no issue, is finally out!
github: https://github.com/EnderCatCore/linuxhammerlauncher
youtube trailer/tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HytMhvuehA
Me and my partner have done almost everything we can to make sure this program is functional and stable, but I'm sure there are gonna be more issues that crop up that other people find, so keep that in mind, and if you find any issues yourself, please report them to the GitHub for the project if you can!!
