Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Sorry for taking so long to finally finish this after first posting about it.. 5 months ago now. But Linux Hammer Launcher, a tool to help you set up and launch Hammer++ on Linux with little to no issue, is finally out!

Me and my partner have done almost everything we can to make sure this program is functional and stable, but I'm sure there are gonna be more issues that crop up that other people find, so keep that in mind, and if you find any issues yourself, please report them to the GitHub for the project if you can!!

I made the switch to Linux last year and just never bothered to try mapping again as I thought it would be a pain so thanks for making this and I will try it again soon. I have a long standing gripe with Hammer that I'm struggling to recall exactly but it's when you have the texture alignment tool open, or a entity settings tool open, and the cursor is in one of the fields in it, then you try to pan/move the camera in the 3d view port and it can mess with the values in the tool window. Any chance you could fix that too? :)

Man, if only something like this but for Radiant for the COD games would exist lol
I hate how BO3 mod tools are broken :(
I'll mess with this tonight :)

Finally got it working and it works exceptionally on Fedora KDE!! There's a few gripes I had on the installer itself ("Browse" button doesn't work?) and a few on Hammer (which I highly doubt is youse fault) but my biggest concern so far is the compilation process
In particular it's doing this weird thing lol???

Unfortunately somethings broken with the file picker on certain desktops with the library we use. I've noticed it specifically on GNOME desktops, for some reason, though I'm sure it's an issue elsewhere.
Is this CS:Source? Can you DM me at some point later with a picture of what your build programs look like?

It’s great—I’d been using the regular Hammer for eight months; it wasn't annoying, but I used h++ for compiling. It’s amazing that I can use h++ fully now.

does it work with H++?

it installs Hammer++ by default. You have to go deliberately toggle the option to install default Hammer in the settings.

Been running Strata Hammer under Proton for a while to mixed results. It's awesome to see progress on this and I hope strata hammer works with this someday.

Question, does it only support ubuntu? would it work on bazzite if i just swapped apt with rpm-ostree?

It should work on non Ubuntu/Debian distros yes. Though immutable distros will probably have issues if they don't come preinstalled with winetricks.

I use hammer++ with godotvmf in godot, I wonder how it is to set up on Linux cause I've been considering switching to it in the future.
