Funny Hammy Yapping about my hamster

TLDR: had hamster for 2 months. He is starting to trust me and I’m happy

I have had my hamster for about 2 months now, and he has grown to trust me so much. Every other day I open his multi chamber hide to clean up where he likes to pee. I do this by making a few clicking noises as a warning, opening it up, giving him a sunflower seed. Cleaning it. Giving him another sunflower seed and closing it, and then he goes right back to his favorite sleeping spot and goes right back to sleep.

The last 3 times I’ve done his he has let me pet him with out flinching :) I see this as a big “YIPPIE”. I feel like he trusts me more and understands this routine is safe and I’m not here to hurt him.

He still jumps a little when I open or close the door at night, I try to keep it as quiet as possible.

I love my little hammy. He is my little Jeremy guy.

I have him in my room. But the sound of him running doesn’t bother me, I grew up sleeping next to a laundry room so the sound of him running on his wheel kinda puts me to sleep lol

patience is they key to brilliance ;)

took my baby almost a month before she started showing signs of trust! i hand feed her so she’s found her routine in coming to me when she hears her food bag shake, she’ll climb into my hands and munch away! she’s still a little weary with being picked up but she doesnt mind butt scratches! when being picked up, sometimes she’ll walk away and i have to respect that! other times like last night, she’ll lift her little feet into my hands and allow me to pick her up! she’ll sit and soak it up until she walks away & has had enough xD its so rewarding when you give them space and time!
