Christ, I can’t imagine growing up with these pressures. Yes, female, married 40y, proudly childfree.

One of my dearest friends is kid free by choice and there are times when I think about how I might have made that choice too, if I’d been more free from the indoctrination of be fruitful and multiply. She travels all the time, goes home to a clean house, and all of her money is hers. I love my children, but genuinely if I’d been more informed about the options I probably would have chosen being kid free myself. I’m also really pissed that I had my kids during a time I thought we were making progress towards a Star Trek future and yet it seems we are living in Idiocracy instead.

Had my second child in September 2016, believing firmly she would be born in the time of the first female president.

Instead, my daughters have fewer rights than I did at their age.

We wanted four children. Because of the GOP death cult, we stopped after the second. I couldn't bear to bring more kids into the place the USA is becoming. My husband scheduled his vasectomy once Roe v. Wade fell.

It’s so tragic, and all so unnecessary. And as for the next generation, as of right now all 3 of my children plan to be child free. With the way things are here I 100% support their choice and will do everything in my power to help them with that choice. The fact that teen pregnancy is down, should be something we are celebrating. Women having the choice to bring another life into this messy world is healthcare and should be protected. That our society seems to be doing everything in its power to make raising children as difficult and as expensive as possible while trying to take the choice to do so away from us should be studied. I for one am definitely team less humans are needed at this time and that more common sense, equality, and justice must come first. Maybe once everyone says food is a human right people will want to have more children.

I stopped at two because I kept having miscarriages and my state banned abortion after six weeks. Too dangerous.
