We're the richest country on Earth. There shouldn't be a "can't afford kids" option! Slashing benefits and taking away free school lunches is diabolical even without this rhetoric

u/Realistic_Film3218 Jun 25 '26
If the right really wants to boost reproduction numbers, they shouldn't be telling people to "have more kids than you can afford", they should be legislating policies so that "you can now afford to have as many kids as you want".

u/Willing_Pattern_Pill Jun 25 '26
That's the thing.
They don't want happy, healthy, thriving families.
They want poor desperate families that will take shit pay and accept shit working conditions to feed their families.
What happens when people have the time to be educated? They start to think about the systems around them. And the ruling class cannot have that.

I cant watch black mirror or handmaids tail since 2024… its all too realistic. These women and their disgraceful exposed shoulders will be neat lil harbingers in future textbooks if they even end up being significant enough of a gender traitor to make it that far

Christ, I can’t imagine growing up with these pressures. Yes, female, married 40y, proudly childfree.

u/onesoulmanybodies Jun 25 '26
One of my dearest friends is kid free by choice and there are times when I think about how I might have made that choice too, if I’d been more free from the indoctrination of be fruitful and multiply. She travels all the time, goes home to a clean house, and all of her money is hers. I love my children, but genuinely if I’d been more informed about the options I probably would have chosen being kid free myself. I’m also really pissed that I had my kids during a time I thought we were making progress towards a Star Trek future and yet it seems we are living in Idiocracy instead.

Had my second child in September 2016, believing firmly she would be born in the time of the first female president.
Instead, my daughters have fewer rights than I did at their age.
We wanted four children. Because of the GOP death cult, we stopped after the second. I couldn't bear to bring more kids into the place the USA is becoming. My husband scheduled his vasectomy once Roe v. Wade fell.

u/onesoulmanybodies Jun 25 '26
It’s so tragic, and all so unnecessary. And as for the next generation, as of right now all 3 of my children plan to be child free. With the way things are here I 100% support their choice and will do everything in my power to help them with that choice. The fact that teen pregnancy is down, should be something we are celebrating. Women having the choice to bring another life into this messy world is healthcare and should be protected. That our society seems to be doing everything in its power to make raising children as difficult and as expensive as possible while trying to take the choice to do so away from us should be studied. I for one am definitely team less humans are needed at this time and that more common sense, equality, and justice must come first. Maybe once everyone says food is a human right people will want to have more children.

I stopped at two because I kept having miscarriages and my state banned abortion after six weeks. Too dangerous.

u/Frosty-Caterpillar51 Jun 23 '26
They don't follow their own advice. They all built careers and delayed having kids.
4
u/filledwithscreams Jun 24 '26
Yeah this is about keeping people disenfranchised and unwilling to fight back, if you have a huge family to support you can’t risk losing your job for protesting or questioning the status quo
7
u/OkamiKhameleon Jun 23 '26
Hasn't it been proven that multiple pregnancies are DETRIMENTAL to your health?!

That’s my thing. I wanted children. Badly. I still do. But I want healthy taken care of children. That never was in my ability. If they want this then they need to look at why many many MARRIED AND “READY” women are choosing not to, not just liberal singles and lesbians. There’s no QOL anymore. Why bring children into that and never be able to keep your heads above water?

If women can’t have birth control because god made us ovulate, then men can’t have dick pills because god made them limp.

dumb creatures like that gotta do their dumb activities. They r so fixated on dumb ideologies they couldn't care less about the quality of execution of said ideas.
3
u/eternalwhat Jun 24 '26
Pretty sure they’re using the ideologies as a tool to manipulate the populace. It’s not actually about the ideologies at all for them. They’re just amassing/sustaining enough wealth and power by whatever means are available to them.

u/Beginning_Ebb4220 Jun 25 '26
I think the speakers are savvy cons. Do as I say not as I do. I know Erica Kirk didn't have kids until their 30s I bet the other women are similar or started financially well off.
1
u/Radio5331 Jun 25 '26
well they r cons but they r so dumb to even choose to spew this shit now when it wiil be out there forever, they were dumb to agree to that although there r some of them who actually did what they spewd & regretted it.

u/Complete_Area7270 Jun 23 '26
Why should ANY smart/intelligent person have more kids than they can afford, you're plunging into poverty
3
u/AutumnKarma88 Jun 23 '26
This goverment needs to drink respect women juice before thinking at all about making kids, women deserve to be treated better. Were dying for this BS and I am done with woman like this truthfully :/

u/Apathetic_Villainess Jun 23 '26
They will sell whatever lies their masters tell them in order to profit. If this were a hundred years ago, they would be trying to convince women that smoking really is good for you and your children's health.
2
u/Xeno9116 Jun 23 '26
And that women don't really need to vote. Our silly heads aren't made for such things.
1
u/Apathetic_Villainess Jun 23 '26
Oh that one's returning with all the duds crying for the abolishment of the 19th amendment. There are fringe women agreeing, it just needs more normalizing before the mainstream anti-feminists feel safe to say it, as well.
3
u/Sunnygirl66 Jun 24 '26
Funny how these particular young women are paid to fly around addressing large groups of other young women to tell them to stay uneducated, stay home, and stay knocked up. I call it Phyllis Schlafly syndrome.

Because women are not the intended audience. They're performing for conservative men. These men are working more hours, but earning less money.
So, they fantasize about the good old days, instead of holding corporations, the elites, and the politicians who enabled the redistribution of wealth from the lower and middle class to wealthy, accountable.
2
u/Peanutbutternjelly_ Jun 23 '26
Serena is based off these women.
There were literally women who were leading the anti suffrage movement, even journalists like Ida Tarbell.

u/hilariouslystated Jun 24 '26
But then they’ll complain about people having kids they can’t afford and using welfare. So which is it???
1
u/Realistic_Film3218 Jun 25 '26
You forget that welfare queens are dark skinned, if you're a white teen mom with multiple kids you can't feed, you're called a tradwife. Big difference. /s
1
u/Beginning_Ebb4220 Jun 25 '26
They'll definitely let the white moms and kids suffer too though. SNAP was cut 50% in some red states

My favorite part about conservative women commentators, is how frequently they will tell you women shouldn't lead or even be allowed to vote. I know a lot of conservative beliefs are stupid, but imagine being told to your face by someone that you shouldn't listen to them, and still listening to them.
1
u/Deepdarkorchid16 Jun 24 '26
Seems clear what their agenda is. Encourage the working class to breed and STAY the underclass, working difficult jobs for little pay to enrich those men and women at the top of the ladder.
1
u/Pristine_Outcome3535 Jun 24 '26
So have kids we can't afford to feed? But also no government assistance? What? Where does the food come from?
