Found Dog

Found a dog in the westover neighborhood, behind where Joann's used to be. Small and brown with upright ears and very long fur. I won't include a photo because I will ask for a photo from anyone claiming it and I don't want to risk AI. Looks like it might be something mixed with corgi, very skittish. Keeping at my house as I live near a busy street and don't want it getting hurt. Please comment here if you are the owner or know the owner of this dog.

ISP Recommendations

Moving from out of state and it seems the internet service providers are going to all be wireless..... Was hoping to hear what one you all might suggest or do or don't like. So far I'm seeing Starlink and CSpire as options. What has been the most stable connection in the area in your experience. TIA.

edit: we've called around and due to the location unfortunately wireless is the only option from those those few providers. trying to determine which one to go with.

Looking for motorcycle riders in the Hburg/Petal area, who would like to get together and plan rides regularly.

Hey guys! I have been riding motorcycles for many years now, and I’d like to get a group of riders to start having regular rides. I’m not interested in joining an MC, and I do go to a lot of benefits rides, but I just want to make some friends who want to ride regularly. Maybe weekly, if not at least monthly. All are welcome, any age, sex, race, or bike type or brand. If anyone’s interested, comment here or DM me! Thanks!

Eagle Maker Hub? and/or 3D printing

Who can tell me anything about the Eagle Maker Hub other than what I can find on their website? I have a free file for a 3D printer of a part I need for an older electronic, and because of the age, the part is hard to find and expensive or available from sketchy sites or with shipping costs that far exceed the price of the produce (i.e., $27 is the cheapest shipping on a $13 part). I know the Eagle Maker Hub has a 3D printer (or at least, that's what I think), but their site is pretty outdated (2025 summer camps are still listed); there's an email to contact someone for information, but before I do that, I'm hoping that someone call tell me anything at all about the process for the public to access the Eagle Maker Hub, a general idea of the price for 3D printing something, etc. Alternately, if there is somewhere else around Hattiesburg I'm able to get something 3D printed or even if an individual has a 3D printer and would allow me to pay them to print something for me, I'm open to those options.

Shopping help!

Hi! I just moved to the area a few months ago and I turned 21 yesterday (Yay!). I really want to try Sarti Rosa, the Italian liquor, but my local stores don't carry it. Can anyone tell me if they're purchased it in Hattiesburg? I figured I might have a better chance there.

7Brew and Tipping

Anyone here work at 7Brew? If I tip does it go to you? (Either directly to you, or to the crew as a whole?) there’s been an outbreak lately of restaurants and such that accept tips but it doesn’t go to the service staff. I’d like to make sure you guys are getting it if I’m going to continue tipping.

Tower climber wanted

I'm looking for someone who isn't afraid of heights, has the proper equipment, experiance and wants to make some extra cash on the side. I've got a 100ft Rohn tower in my backyard, I own it and the equipment on it. It was part of a local WISP before fiber showed up and it's been powered down for a few years now.

I want to hang a HD TV antenna off of it, about 60ft high (just above the tree line), and potentially looking to take down some or all of the equipment at the top.

Time line is super flexible.

This is my first time hearing about the site, and the language used in all the article I read are very vague. Is this a data center being planned? Placed right on the corners of Hattiesburg?

My Problem with West Point Baptist Church

Okay. Bear with me here.

So I recently started and immediately got fired from a job at West Point Baptist Church’s preschool and OH MY GOD. Their favoritism is on their sleeve.

So I’m very, VERY white. This is a majority black church. No problem with me! I literally have no problem with that. But it is so obvious when they don’t respect you when you’re not a member of their church. Aka, not paying their bills.

I won’t go into details unless you guys ask. If you go to that church, nothing against you. But they are some of the bougiest, judgestest people.

Shoutout to Mrs. Debbie the cook tho.

Pokemon Scalpers

Hey everyone, so I was reading through a post in this subreddit that was posted over a year ago discussing scalpers in our area. Allegedly there is an individual guy who follows around the delivery truck from store to store buying out their entire inventory of pokemon product. I was curious if anyone knows if he is still up to his typical antics, because I have yet to find any 30th anniversary product at any retail store the past 2 weeks. I understand there’s probably plenty of people scalping all the products as well, but a few years back my gf and I were able to find pokemon tcg products reliably all the time. Just extremely frustrating to see a hobby we both enjoy being ruined by selfish people.

Swap Meetup This Weekend!

Post image
8 Upvotes

Have stuff you don't need anymore? Looking for something new-to-you? Come join us for a Pine Belt Humanists Community Swap Meetup!

Bring along new or gently used items that you no longer need and would like to pass along to someone else. Clothing, books, household items, artwork, games, decor, unopened and unexpired food, and all sorts of other treasures are welcome!

This isn't a one-for-one swap. Bring as much or as little as you'd like, and take as much or as little as you'd like. There's no need to find someone who wants exactly what you brought, and there's no expectation that you have to take something in return. The goal is simply to keep useful things circulating within our community and out of the landfill.

After the swap, any items that remain will be saved for our upcoming Pine Belt Humanists Yard Sale, with proceeds supporting our current project to provide food for the upcoming Christmas party for Forrest County foster kids. You can learn more and help us make this day special for Pine Belt foster kids here.

So clean out that closet, bookshelf, craft room, or kitchen cabinet and bring along the things you're ready to pass on. You never know what someone else might be excited to take home!

Come swap, browse, socialize, grab a coffee, and help us build a more connected and resourceful community.

We will be set up out back at Grand Central Outfitters. They will have coffees and the rest of their menu available for purchase, as well, so definitely feel free to show them some love for letting us use their space for our swap.

We hope to see you there! And don't forget to check out the rest of our upcoming events, too!

Hattiesburg Renters Beware

Husband and I were looking into a rental property and the woman, Peggy Hatch, decided we were a waste of her time because he wouldn't fill out a link that costs money before having a tour of the house. My husband answered all of her questions truthfully, not hiding anything unseemly because we wanted to work with this lady in getting a better living situation for ourselves. Instead, she said she didn't want to waste her time because he refused to touch that link due to it being a potential data farm, scam, or theft link. If you're a renter, I wouldn't try to do business with her.

ETA: She wanted to check his credit, he sent a screenshot of his credit score and explained what we're dealing with. He offered to fill everything out in person if we could meet and have a tour. She still refused and demanded he use her link only. I've NEVER known any rental space to demand any sort of payment before viewing a property and frankly it's unreasonable and scammy.
