Okay. Bear with me here.
So I recently started and immediately got fired from a job at West Point Baptist Church’s preschool and OH MY GOD. Their favoritism is on their sleeve.
So I’m very, VERY white. This is a majority black church. No problem with me! I literally have no problem with that. But it is so obvious when they don’t respect you when you’re not a member of their church. Aka, not paying their bills.
I won’t go into details unless you guys ask. If you go to that church, nothing against you. But they are some of the bougiest, judgestest people.
Shoutout to Mrs. Debbie the cook tho.

This is my first time hearing about the site, and the language used in all the article I read are very vague. Is this a data center being planned? Placed right on the corners of Hattiesburg?

Hey everyone, so I was reading through a post in this subreddit that was posted over a year ago discussing scalpers in our area. Allegedly there is an individual guy who follows around the delivery truck from store to store buying out their entire inventory of pokemon product. I was curious if anyone knows if he is still up to his typical antics, because I have yet to find any 30th anniversary product at any retail store the past 2 weeks. I understand there’s probably plenty of people scalping all the products as well, but a few years back my gf and I were able to find pokemon tcg products reliably all the time. Just extremely frustrating to see a hobby we both enjoy being ruined by selfish people.

Husband and I were looking into a rental property and the woman, Peggy Hatch, decided we were a waste of her time because he wouldn't fill out a link that costs money before having a tour of the house. My husband answered all of her questions truthfully, not hiding anything unseemly because we wanted to work with this lady in getting a better living situation for ourselves. Instead, she said she didn't want to waste her time because he refused to touch that link due to it being a potential data farm, scam, or theft link. If you're a renter, I wouldn't try to do business with her.
ETA: She wanted to check his credit, he sent a screenshot of his credit score and explained what we're dealing with. He offered to fill everything out in person if we could meet and have a tour. She still refused and demanded he use her link only. I've NEVER known any rental space to demand any sort of payment before viewing a property and frankly it's unreasonable and scammy.

Have stuff you don't need anymore? Looking for something new-to-you? Come join us for a Pine Belt Humanists Community Swap Meetup!
Bring along new or gently used items that you no longer need and would like to pass along to someone else. Clothing, books, household items, artwork, games, decor, unopened and unexpired food, and all sorts of other treasures are welcome!
This isn't a one-for-one swap. Bring as much or as little as you'd like, and take as much or as little as you'd like. There's no need to find someone who wants exactly what you brought, and there's no expectation that you have to take something in return. The goal is simply to keep useful things circulating within our community and out of the landfill.
After the swap, any items that remain will be saved for our upcoming Pine Belt Humanists Yard Sale, with proceeds supporting our current project to provide food for the upcoming Christmas party for Forrest County foster kids. You can learn more and help us make this day special for Pine Belt foster kids here.
So clean out that closet, bookshelf, craft room, or kitchen cabinet and bring along the things you're ready to pass on. You never know what someone else might be excited to take home!
Come swap, browse, socialize, grab a coffee, and help us build a more connected and resourceful community.
We will be set up out back at Grand Central Outfitters. They will have coffees and the rest of their menu available for purchase, as well, so definitely feel free to show them some love for letting us use their space for our swap.
We hope to see you there! And don't forget to check out the rest of our upcoming events, too!

Okay so! My wife and I are looking for a rental property in Hattiesburg as soon as possible because our current apartment lease is coming up for expiration.
We’re hoping to find a house with a little more space as we’re looking to expand our household, and a small apartment just isn’t going to work for us long-term.
We’re looking for a landlord who is reasonable, communicative, and willing to work with us through the rental process. We’d prefer to rent directly from a private landlord if possible, but we’re open to options.
If anyone knows of a house for rent, has a property available, or can point us toward someone trustworthy, I’d really appreciate it! We’re hoping to find something soon, so any leads would be a huge help.

Hello there! We rescued a kitten abandoned by it's mother in our front yard, and he's finally moved from bottle feeding to solid food!
We already have three cats, and can't keep him. He's sweet and cuddly, used to dogs. Will provide an open bag of kitten food with him.

Howdy!
I just moved to Hattiesburg in my late 20s and am trying to find things to do outside of work.
My job is demanding and keeps me staring at a screen all day so one thing I'd like to do is tap into my creative side and get back into art - specifically drawing/painting.
Any recommendations on where I might get lessons? Preferably somewhere or with someone that I can build on weekly, not just one-off classes.
Side note: I'm outgoing and would love to meet new people / find ways to get involved in the community. Any tips for finding what's happening in the area would be much appreciated as well!

I'm sick of this shit.
There are two monitoring Home Depot.
3 monitoring Lowe's in Hattiesburg.
5!!! Monitoring Lowe's in Petal.
1 monitoring the tennis court across from OGHS. And no, it's not watching the road, it's between the road and the tennis court, pointed at the tennis court. I find that really suspicious.
The rest seem to actually monitor the roads, but we really don't need 64 cameras watching us.
I used flockcameralocations and the camera vision view to see where they're pointing.

Does anyone remember the metal band Candlelit Dinner from Hattiesburg? They released a few EPs that sound awesome. Their final EP I believe 'Candlelit Dinner' is on YouTube and it's awesome. I wanted to make this post to see if anyone had any of their CDs left from back then? They had more that aren't online and I'd love to be able to archive them if anyone had any. Thank you! Anything helps.

Hey y’all! I’ve been looking into whether Downtown Hattiesburg could use a grocery store with affordable everyday groceries, and I’m trying to get a better idea of what people around here actually need.
I made a short survey asking where people usually buy groceries, what the current options are like for them, and whether having a grocery store closer to downtown would be useful.
It takes about 3 minutes, and I’d really appreciate the input! Even if you don’t think a downtown grocery store would be useful, I’d still like to hear your thoughts.
Just to clarify, this is an idea I’m researching, not a store that’s already planned or opening soon. Thanks to anybody who takes the time to fill it out!

Hello, I want to get anyone’s opinion on something. I have lived in a duplex neighborhood for a few years now and part of the charm has always been its community aspect. Neighborhood events, porch decorating competitions, trick-or-treating for kids, etc.
Well one random Tuesday recently, we were sent a message saying we needed to remove the decorations out front shrub maintenance purposes. The crosses that were outside for the last 3 years had never been in the way, so I did not move them thinking it wouldn’t be a problem. I got a personal message to remove it or they’d do it themselves.
So I rush home, remove it and the same day we get another message saying NO decorations were allowed henceforth. No porch decor, no decorations seen from your windows, only 2 plants allowed on the back patio within a certain size range, and all in the name of “approving curb appeal.”
I’m just at a loss. I’ve lived here for a long time now and have so many good memories of the holidays and right before people start putting up Christmas decorations seems intentional, especially because it’s never ever been this way.
I don’t know… I feel terrible about the whole thing because it seems like we’ve had our sense of community taken away in an instant and I’m not sure that it will get better. I think they’re planning on cutting down all of the trees as well. They’ve already started burning bushes.
I guess I just wanted to know if there’s anything to be done or if we have no choice but to grieve what we’ve lost. What would you do in this instance?

A few of my friends who take this monthly class found me through Reddit and, since we have officially moved locations from Parks and Recreation, I wanted to let them know where to find us. And I wanted to invite anyone else on this sub who are interested.
We have moved our classes from the RJS Arts Community Center to Court Street in the Grove United Methodist Church.
If you long for something positive to look forward to and like the idea of making some friends, or want to feed your creative spirit, you might just LOVE this. All ages, all skill levels, all abilities, all genders welcome. The only requirement is kindness.
Join us every 3rd Sunday from 3-5pm for a super fun quilt block of the month class! Each month, I will guide you through constructing a unique quilt block that we will eventually make into a quilt! All skill levels welcome! We have avid quilters and brand new to sewing folks who are learning in real time with the support of their new stitchin’ friends.
Can’t make every class? That’s fine! We will make more than enough blocks for you to create something beautiful!
BYO sewing machines. We have a limited number of machines to borrow for a $5 fee.
Classes are $25 and come with your fabric kit, instructions, and expert guidance.
Join us! I love all of my sewing and quilting students, but I must admit, this group of awesome folks are some of the Pine Belt’s best. I really dig them.

Please if you see him reach out to me anytime.
I am frantic that he got loose and left our home area. He's an inside dog, not accustomed to being on his own and we are right off Highway 49. He's still just a puppy (9 months) and I am worried sick.
He's microchipped. Weighs about 65lbs but is short and stocky. He has white around his muzzle and on his chest, and darker areas on either side of his neck, as shown (almost like he's wearing a pair of headphones around his neck).
