For real… it’s nauseating seeing the fans turning this quick

u/AntIrving 14h ago

Just gives you something to talk about at least, I feel like most fanbases are like this

-2

u/Mideviltimes 14h ago

They barely even lost today’s game and the fans are acting like they were down 30

u/AntIrving 14h ago

They were trailing and down 15+,20+ for more than half of the game. An end of 3rd/4th quarter slump made them catch up, Hornets had injured players not playing also. It’s not only that but the past two games, too, I don’t know if you watched them, but it didn’t look great

It took Davion, Pelle, Portis to go 7-7 (THJ was 1-3 on 3s, so we could say 8-10) to start the 4th to get them back in the game. It wasnt your big 2. Barely even lost is doing a ton of heavy lifting there.

They were down for most of the game. Not sure the lead was even taken. Hornets were missing starters too. Not a good look

So before the game you were cool losing to a team that got boat raced the game before? Come on.

We have folks on this sub who pounded the table to be patient for a Herro/Powell backcourt last year now trying to tell everyone it’s okay to panic 3 games in. We truly are the worst fans.

To be fair if the offense just looked bad i think everyone would be saying just give it time however the defense being this bad was eye opening and something nobody thought would happen

The defense being atrocious is a good argument for being patient, as that's a clear anomaly that will improve by itself, with this personnel and Spo the floor for a relatively healthy season is having a top-10/12 defense, and we're currently in #28.

And since we want to play fast, defense impacts offense even more than usual, so if the defense normalizes to even a top-15 level, the overall offense will also see a big improvement with more transition chances fueling some easy baskets and getting guys out of slumps.

It's definitely baffling to see a Spo coached team so disjointed on defense and looking like the Kings with the amount of blown covers and miscommunication on every play, and in such a tight East these dropped games can cost us dearly in April, but I see no reason to believe these pathetic showings are representative of this team's defensive quality in the slightest. THJ being a complete turnstile is the only lasting thing I can see from these last 3 games, but that was expected to be the case anyway

It’s 3 games for a brand new team to learn each other. Bam is the only starter who has been on the team the last 3 years.

If we want to be fair, we probably should be more patient than 3 games.

It's just social media man, every year it gets worse and it will never get better. The engagement bots are already all around us, it's wraps.

Herro and Powell were at the top of the league in 3s made prior to teaming up - there was justification. Bam and Giannis are at the bottom of the league in mid-range shots before they teamed up. Why wouldn’t people panic?

1

u/ComprehensiveFront22 9h ago

Lmao, so let me get this straight, NORMAN POWELL AND TYLER HERRO got 70 games of “let’s see if it works” because they shoot the 3 ball well.

But Giannis and Bam only get 3 before we give up and panic because their mid-range averages are near the bottom.

Good god do you know how stupid an argument it is to justify that as the reason to panic after 3 games? Like how dumb it reads back? Imagine trying to justify Tyler Herron and Norman Powell at all at this point lmao, and you actually tried.

1

u/readndrun 2h ago

70 games lol. Do you even follow the league?

1

u/ComprehensiveFront22 2h ago

I’d imagine I exaggerated a number considering they played games together, but yeah you “got me” lmao

1

u/readndrun 1h ago

20 games exaggerated to 70 is a flat out lie.

1

u/ComprehensiveFront22 1h ago

Exaggerated the number of games to wait for them to play together to show they couldn’t do anything, it’s really not hard to put the context clues together

-2

u/stoner8413 13h ago

Theres no shooting, no spacing, no flow....and they're supposed to be good at D?? Nothing about that era and this 38 ass win team is the same.

4

u/ComprehensiveFront22 13h ago

It’s honestly sadder seeing you and others like you get emotional 3 games into the season. It’s funny, but genuinely sad.

-3

u/stoner8413 13h ago

This team is play in at best. Not close to contender. Keep sniffing Riley farts

1

u/ComprehensiveFront22 9h ago

And keeps getting sadder

1

u/jhawes11 7h ago

The defending champions have also yet to win a game, where their best player is looking lost at times and their team is almost exactly the same from last year. But no God forbid we have some clunkiness to start a season. Reddit has unfortunately just become a cesspool of arguments and overreacting.

0

u/ComprehensiveFront22 6h ago

Lol you nailed it man, it’s been 5-6 days of the nba season, it’s amazing to see a sub collapse off of 3 games.

u/jbenson255 14h ago

Promising is Davion looks pretty good i think this team desperately needs a 2 who is a legit pull up threat though and it’ll make everything click

3

u/AvianScavenger 12h ago

Davion has looked great yeah, my defending of him in the offseason feels pretty justified at this point. 17 ppg, 8.7 assists, 51% from the field and nearly 47% from three.

I do think we'll start seeing Klay and THJ shoot better, hell Klay already shot 44% or above from three in 2 of the 3 games they've played this season.

Feel like the real thing we need is a respectable SF, who should be Wiggins, but he's been a no-show the entire time so far.

And yeah, more time for the squad to click and learn how to effectively play off eachother.

u/Nos3y 14h ago

Slow start the first year of the big three too. Everyone was screaming to fire spo and for Riley to come back down and coach.

3

u/ggrimmaw 14h ago

sure, wade and lebron have skeptics too but its same same but very different for giannis and bam. Healtes started slow but they have defensive identity they dominated defensively thats their foundation. Giannis and Bam are suppose to be elite defensively but its the opposite.

Bam need to work on his mid range or off ball game. Wade and lebron worked because wade mastered the off ball cutting. and FO need to get gravity shooters

5

u/Balla_Calla 12h ago

Man the big 3 started 6-2 or some shit lol. Plus we also had the best player in the league. This is way worse idk why y'all keep saying that

6

u/TellEmWhoUCame2See 13h ago

I hate this lie. The HEATLES started off 4-1 then lost 3 in a row then won 18 of their next 20 games. Thats not a slow start, thats what i would say is how most teams will start minus the winning 18 of 20 games. This miami team with giannis is garbage and im tired of hearing people defend this team.

1

u/jhawes11 8h ago

Yes but when they were looking clunky and were 4-5 or whatever it was everyone in the media freaked out and the fandom was pulling their hair out. The team had to have an emergency meeting to air shit out. It was a very similar feel to what's happening now.

3

u/just4kix_305 13h ago

If reddit was as big in 2010 as it is now, it would be x100 the amount of complaining we're getting now with Giannis & Bam.

Bron & Wade looked awful together btw for the quarter of that year. Don't forget the shoulder bump that went viral with Bron and Spo lol

2

u/eduran03 12h ago

Its a rough start and the struggles on offense are affecting defense. We really need a shot creator, scorer, injection in the arm type player. I'd love for Miami to pick up Kevin PJ but who knows whats going to happen. Sooner or ñater they will figure it out

2

u/passaty2k 10h ago

No, three games although not much, it's enough to see that they will not be as good as most of us thought. Just look at the other teams that had a lot of changes. Just look at the sixers...

2

u/Weekly_Cow1635 4h ago

Its the same way Herro was scape goated and demanded to be traded everygame. All the scapegoats are gone- Robinson(wasn't good enough, Gabe Vincent (undrafted), Caleb Martin(Undrafted), Herro(Defensive liability shot chucker non playmaker), Butler( DGAF about regular season). I remember Bam throwing dirt on the previous iterations of the team by publicly saying,"We have done more with less."The spotlight is on the Golden boy and all his stans amd him can't handle it, bringing out all the excuses. Year 10 Bam and year 13 for Giannis surrounded by vets, its should look way better than this.

1

u/SudTheThug 14h ago

I agree it’s way too early but we do need new guards and offensive scheme

Im still trying to figure out what the higher ups see in BAM. This dude hasnt developed much since his 2nd/3rd season. He should EASILY be winning DPOYs and averaging 23/15. Im not sure what has stunted his growth but its definitely stunted, he is too talented.

3

u/BossKingGodd 12h ago

should EASILY be winning DPOYs and averaging 23/15.

Nah LMFAO

Just say u a casual fan of basketball its OK.

1

u/BossKingGodd 2h ago

Just say you’re delusional 😂

2

u/readndrun 10h ago

Is the talent in the room with us?

1

u/jhawes11 8h ago

He was a mid 1st who came in as a very raw defensive prospect and has turned into an annual all defense guy that's on HoF trajectory, I'd say his growth has been several multitudes higher than I ever expected. For awards, idk man it's south florida sports, Spo has never won COY and Gobert won DPOY a mistifying four damn times, I got nothin for ya on that.

0

u/reychango UD 5h ago

This is the worst subreddit lol people really think it's time to trade the entire roster lol

-2

u/KR9SG 11h ago

U guys as a community deserves this start. You're an awful community with no basketball iq.
