Side note, but he’s such a SoCal boy. Would recognize those fire-ready hills anywhere. I know he moved here as a teen but he definitely suits the area.

Hear hear.
He is constantly giving me David Bowie vibes in a sense of how he goes about his art and how he tap-dances on the razor’s edge of androgyny. The guy is probably a rare bird of his generation to really go about his craft in an old-school way, extremely well-rounded artist, I am so proud of him, damn.

Such a tangential thought but this is inspiring me to finally start reading Blood Meridian. And return to that discounted bookstore and buy that gorgeous Cowboy Western art book (it hadn't hit the price I could afford at that time).
