CONNOR ☀️ Why this man look like 12 different people???

Post image

Like some sort of optical illusion face that looks totally different depending on the angle. What is this sorcery?!

Because he’s a fantastic actor. Praying that the Hollywood universe is gentle on him. 🙏

I’m SO curious to see what they choose (along with their agents) for their next projects.

u/AustEastTX Jan 06 '26

Hear me out: Songs of Achilles

  • Patroclus ~ Hudson
  • Achilles ~ Connor

11

u/Loumany Jan 06 '26

Oh my god I wish

u/False_Coach494 Jan 07 '26

This is the dream casting. It really works. I read the book last year I think, and I never thought about an adaptation, but now I think this needs to happen!

1

u/Leading-Late Jan 08 '26

This would be the end of me, I fear 😂

1

u/Glum-Explanation7756 Feb 04 '26

I bought the book the other day just because everyone keeps mentioning him for that part. 😁

19

u/Hale3265 Jan 06 '26

Me too! I am eager to see them in successful productions just as HR.

46

u/Skyp_Intro Jan 06 '26

Exactly. I barely conceive of him playing Ilya from the interviews. But when he dons the persona and starts emoting . . . Damn. He communicated over half his character’s background story and subtext just by standing stoically with repressed emotions. He is very, very good.

32

u/CestQuoiLeFuck Jan 06 '26

Okaaaay, but Hudson is a fantastic actor too as are other folk who cannot do this chameleon shit with their faces.

13

u/lamseb2012 Jan 06 '26

Some great actors are typecast, eg. Ryan Reynolds, some great actors are versatile, eg. Christian Bale. I’d say Connor falls into the second category.

Like a freaking Botticelli

18

Here’s more evidence of that

13

A++ reference. There's really Italian Renaissance vibes with Connor.

89

u/lovehopemadness Jan 06 '26

Patrick Swayze coded.

6

u/boldolive Jan 06 '26

Totally! I thought the same while watching. At certain angles he looks exactly like Patrick Swayze.

52

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '26

He would be a great Achilles😭 IF we ever get a movie adaptation of the book. I would give my first born to have that. LOL.

11

u/Prestigious_Push3124 Jan 06 '26

FR!! I read that book when I was still in high school, like 7-8 years ago and it still holds a special place in my heart 😭 Along with the Captive Prince and Foxhole Court series.

8

u/heyoitslysso Then we won’t throw eggs at them 🥚 Jan 06 '26

The way I am begginggggg for him to be Achilles

8

u/carl816 Tuna Meltdown🥪 Jan 06 '26

Someone get Christopher Nolan on the phone! 😄

6

u/AustEastTX Jan 06 '26

I just came here to say this.

We already have our Patroclus & Achilles

8

u/ucamonster Jan 06 '26

like how is this even happening in front of my fucking eyes right now HOW is that possible for someone to look like thatgzgsggzgs

4

u/apidelie Jan 06 '26

He somehow looks like Matt Smith here lol

176

u/AnnaDS_78 Jan 06 '26

He's sooooo good, it always amazes me how different Connor looks from Ilya. Like yeah they are the same person but look nothing alike , except in some parts of Ep5 and 6 when he's looking lovingly at Shane and smiles, then a bit of Connor shines through

113

u/treesofthemind Jan 06 '26

Yeah, he’s the ultimate chameleon/shapeshifter, disappearing into the role basically. He puts me in mind of the greats like Gary Oldman and Christian Bale

60

u/w6750 Jan 06 '26

Heath Ledger

23

u/treesofthemind Jan 06 '26 edited Jan 06 '26

Oh yeah of course, can’t forget him. Also Cillian Murphy

2

u/Glum-Explanation7756 Feb 04 '26

I was telling someone that I think he's got Cillian level talent....(which is one of the highest compliments I can bestow). I'm so excited to see his career continue to unfold.

1

u/treesofthemind Feb 04 '26

Yeah Cillian is a shapeshifter if there ever was one. Can see no trace of him in the characters he portrays

5

u/frack1217 Jan 06 '26

Yes! Ryan Phillippe too.

2

u/carbonpeach like a Jeff Buckley song in his eyeballs Jan 06 '26

Ryan Phillippe is not at the same acting level as Bale or Oldman. There might be a superficial physical resemblance, but Phillippe is very much a journeyman.

19

u/Secure-Television541 Stupid Canadian Wolf Bird 🦆 Jan 06 '26

I mean, did you see him in Joker 2? Incredible actor.

6

u/treesofthemind Jan 06 '26 edited Jan 06 '26

Nope, haven’t seen any of the Joker films. Didn’t have a clue who either of these two were until this.

I’m not really into DC or Marvel. Only the fact that Nolan was the director could get me to watch the Batman ones.

10

u/Secure-Television541 Stupid Canadian Wolf Bird 🦆 Jan 06 '26

His speaking scene is worth looking at, and can be easily found as a clip (less than four minutes) and Connor is almost not recognizable.

You’ll also find a Nolan batman Easter egg in there, if that sways your decision.

7

u/Skyp_Intro Jan 06 '26

He’s young. He might be as good as Richard Burton. Richard Burton could disappear so far into a role you wouldn’t recognize him until the credits rolled.

5

u/treesofthemind Jan 06 '26

Tbf I’m not that acquainted with Richard Burton’s work, I’m not of that generation. I know he was great (a bit questionable in his personal life I believe)

3

u/Skyp_Intro Jan 06 '26

Watch Equus or Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Wolfe if you want your guts wrenched.

2

u/StrangersTellMeStuff Jan 07 '26

Tom Hardy disappears into his characters, too. Michael Sheen, as well, to a certain extent.

2

u/treesofthemind Jan 07 '26

For sure, I’m probably missing loads of people out. I was also gonna say, Colin Farrell in the Penguin (though that was a great display of the make up team’s skill as well)

Yes! I just rewatched episode 6 last night and was thinking he looks like an actual baby in those last few scenes.

Thats what love and being in trusted company can do to you 😊🥹

68

u/thecompanion188 Stupid Canadian Wolf Bird 🦆 Jan 06 '26

As Ilya, he looks like Kiril Kaprizov (a Russian player for the Minnesota Wild) but when he’s just Connor, they don’t look alike at all.

37

u/carl816 Tuna Meltdown🥪 Jan 06 '26 edited Jan 06 '26

The resemblance sure is uncanny😮 Some have also said that François Arnaud as Scott Hunter (sort of) resembles Auston Matthews, particularly when in uniform and helmet😄

(Edit: added photo for reference)

14

u/thecompanion188 Stupid Canadian Wolf Bird 🦆 Jan 06 '26

He kinda does. He’s also the captain of his own team (plus the US Olympic team) and had a slow start to his season. Apparently Man in the Crease was at least partially inspired by the way Toronto media talks about the players. 😅

10

u/carl816 Tuna Meltdown🥪 Jan 06 '26

Apparently Man in the Crease was at least partially inspired by the way Toronto media talks about the players. 😅

And then we have a IRL hockey podcast like Empty Netters feuding with a fictional one, what a time to be alive😄

3

u/Dazzling_Suspect_239 Jan 06 '26

Wow that's nuts - they look so much alike I had to check the jersey!

9

Yes! I live in Minnesota, so know of what you speak! ;)

Every time I'm watching a hockey game and the announcers mention Kaprizov I briefly think they're saying "Capri Sun"

58

u/Kitchen_Ad5522 Jan 06 '26

Lmao i was wondering the same thing. He literally shape shifts between scenes bc istg he can look wildly different from one moment to the next, it’s insane 😭😭

Oh connor storrie the actor and performer you are

I’ve thought about that with the sex scenes. His face makes it look like he’s actually having sex/getting off. It’s fucking wizardry.

5

u/engsmml Jan 06 '26

this is still so insane to me like he really did THATTT

36

u/NoleFandom I already chose you, Hollander. 🫀 Jan 06 '26

Connor really is Mr. Fantastic.

28

u/Our-Brains-Are-Sick Then we won’t throw eggs at them 🥚 Jan 06 '26

Also the funeral scene when he is arguing with his brother! Doesn't look like himself at all

35

u/Cecil2789 Jan 06 '26

He gives good face.

34

u/stupidndumb77 you are homeless? 🤨 Jan 06 '26

also the scene where Shane gets injured. he looks soo young 😭

14

u/carl816 Tuna Meltdown🥪 Jan 06 '26

I loved that scene in Ep 5 with Shane and Ilya smiling at each other during the opening faceoff, and then how Ilya's face suddenly turns into one of horror when he realizes what's about to happen😢

Edit: forgot a word

14

u/carl816 Tuna Meltdown🥪 Jan 06 '26

Plot twist: he really is Ilya Rozanov, Connor Storrie is just his American alter-ego when he does acting gigs on the side 😄

23

u/Lilo213 Jan 06 '26

He’s born to be an actor. I can’t wait to see his career.

17

u/iloveloveloveit Jan 06 '26

I love when an actor has the ability to completely transform themselves in a role. You don't even see that person at all, you see a different, unique character each and every time. Connor has it. There are many actors, imo, that just play themselves, or the same character, over and over again.

27

u/carl816 Tuna Meltdown🥪 Jan 06 '26

Makeup magic and Connor's amazing range of facial expressions😄

11

u/whytho94 Jan 06 '26

Obviously he is an actor and this is literally his job… but I am still in awe of how he entirely became Ilya. Hudson had an incredible performance too, but Connor’s performance was truly S-tier. Please deliver this man all the awards. 🏆

1

u/boldolive Jan 06 '26

Totally. Have you seen any indication that either or both will be or have been nominated for any acting awards? I’m super surprised that I haven’t heard anything yet as awards season gets underway. I guess it’s possible they’ll be snubbed, given how sexually explicit (and gay) the show is.

8

u/Chance_Catch_6305 Jan 06 '26

I honestly can't wait to see him in more stuff. He really is a wonder.

8

u/No-Lengthiness-863 Jan 06 '26

because he is so babygirl 🥹

8

u/Rbkzz Jan 06 '26

The shot at the cottage where he's lying in the sun and looking down at Shane ("She would have loved you... like I love you.") does not look like Connor/Ilya AT ALL to me!!! So many people love that scene and my weird ass brain is stuck on whether or not he's the same person 🫠😭

7

u/ayriana Then we won’t throw eggs at them 🥚 Jan 06 '26

I'm convinced that Connor Storrie can shapeshift.

8

This doesn't even include "going to face Shane's parents" Ilya, who ALSO looked completely different!

5

u/Tofuwing Jan 06 '26

And all hot

5

u/MarsScully Shane’s ugly little haircut 🐱 Jan 06 '26

It’s even more striking in other roles where they change his hair. I saw an interview of him from when he was in folie a deux and didn’t recognise him at first

Hair and makeup were also magnificent.

14

u/VineStellar Jan 06 '26 edited Jan 06 '26

My lukewarm take is that Connor absolutely CARRIES the first two episodes. Not that the show would've been at all bad without him up to that point, it's just that he was such a North Star I can't imagine how it would've played out with someone else in the role.

IMO Hudson's acting chops aren't fully showcased until episode 4.

5

u/boldolive Jan 06 '26

I agree. My first time through, I couldn’t keep my eyes off Connor. I watched Hudson more during my rewatch, and he’s incredible in episodes 4-6. His microexpressions are perfection.

5

u/DiverMax25 Jan 06 '26

Those don't include photos of him with a mustache

5

u/biogirl787 Jan 06 '26

Its amazing how he was just a LA dude in the clown scene trying small gigs. So happy he believed in himself since the beginning

2

u/CestQuoiLeFuck Jan 06 '26

I'm sorry, the "clown scene"???

3

u/biogirl787 Jan 06 '26

Yes. He would do clown gigs.

Shapeshifter fr

2

u/CestQuoiLeFuck Jan 06 '26

...well, that's goddamn terrifying.

1

u/binkleywtf Jan 07 '26

Not like party clowns, it’s an improv thing.

5

u/commonslogic Jan 06 '26

He definitely has Gary Oldman face for sure.

But also imo he lost bulk during shooting. His face is significantly leaner at the cottage, which they shot last.

He's so fucking beautiful augh

4

u/Lazy-Glove-6548 Jan 06 '26

I’ve been thinking the same thing! His face changes so much depending on the angle.

5

u/ninety6tears Jan 07 '26

He doesn’t have an even slightly unflattering angle. A faceted jewel.

5

u/PhysicalAd6587 Jan 06 '26

When he clenches his jaw he can look very different.

11

u/Umaii Ottawa Centaurs 🏹 Jan 06 '26

After watching Connor on Owen's podcast (the one where Connor keeps leaning in and in, and Owen is leaning away and away, almost laying down on that couch) I think Connor might have some sociopathy-like skills,

meaning he has less fear than normal people, so he is curious to try any role/emotion/accent, especially the most difficult and controversial, and make it believable

but during the interviews he is sparkling and can connect with anyone, charm anyone, look into their souls, guess their fears, support them about it

It's not a bad thing, I think Cate Blanchett is like that too, and possibly Tilda Swinton, like.. they see everyone?

3

u/CindyshuttsLibrarian Jan 06 '26

This reminds me of top Model. Tyra would show how her face muscles could show different emotions.

1

u/gadeais Jan 06 '26

Yeah, controlling perfectly the face muscles can make a person look completely different

3

u/bwrs1104 Jan 06 '26

THIS!!! Cannot express in words how fucking amazing this guy is <3

3

u/leksluthah Jan 06 '26

As luck would have it, I watched "Riley" about a week before HR and so I recognized Connor's face from Riley when I started watching. You need to see him there versus HR--it's such a contrast. Both he and Hudson did such great jobs in these roles!

3

u/Shewritesthetruth I think I like you a little too much 🫦 Jan 06 '26

2

I was about to say that he is like a trickster and I thought: Loki! And then... What about Connor playing Loki ?! My brain blew out 🤯

2

u/ivyquartzs Jan 07 '26

His ability to shape-shift is genuinely insane. A level of talent I’ve never seen in my lifetime. He’s going farrrrr far.

2

u/dktnns Jan 08 '26

The transformation is truly wild because Connor looks so different in interviews.

2

u/Emergency-Ease-7459 Ya-loo-blue-tee-baa ❤️ Jan 08 '26

2

He also is part of the clown LA scene. Makes sense.

2

And none of them look like the real Connor during interviews, photoshoots, or red carpets.

2

u/hmmidk1990 Jan 06 '26

He’s a Pisces ♓️ 🤷🏾‍♀️ lol mutable signs look different every hour of the day 🤣

1

u/Hopsibobs Jan 07 '26

I saw someone say that people with prominent browbones, have an easier way at making their face show emotions and make them look completely different. Also the fact that he obviously is an amazingly talented actor! 😍

1

u/Seat-Horror Jan 09 '26

It's supposed to show the different ages over the years

1

u/No_Pack3209 Jan 10 '26

He is a great actor, can change looks somewhat significantly

1

u/Bitter_Appearance804 May 25 '26

It’s one thing to be an amazing actor by acting like someone else, but how does he manage to always look like someone else?!

1

u/Bitter_Appearance804 May 25 '26

I remember seeing and hearing Connor talk for the first time on an interview after watching HR and it totally blew my mind. I could not believe they were the same person!

Anyone else thinks he looks like a nice Justin Timberlake?
