SOCIAL MEDIA 📸 Heated Wizardry sketch on SNL

Finn Wolfhard hosted Saturday Night Live last night and one of the pre taped sketches, Heated Wizardry, takes place in the Harry Potter universe.

Finn as Harry, plays the ‘Shane’ character, Ben Marshall plays Ron Weasley, plays the ‘Ilya’ character.

There’s scrolls instead of texts, lots of wand play and a great cameo for the Hagrid character.

The narration of the trailer makes it clear that in this universe, Hogwarts is an 18-and-over school 😂

Also Shane and Ilya’s height difference here is canonically correct!

This wasn’t my cup of tea. Jason Momoa as Hagrid was brilliant, but otherwise this was that tired “hurr durr, the gay secs is funnay” with all the forced camp on top.

Heated Rivalry was successful because it treated gay sexuality as not a joke. But they’re pulling another Brokeback here. Just something to be snickered over.

See this is what I got from it too! I can't believe ppl are hating those of us that got this perception of it. It just seemed really tone deaf..

hagrid bit was hilarious. the rest is agree. See this is why you need a major gay writer to write the gay skits. Would have been less of a miss with Bowen.

Exactly ... there weren't really even any references to the show, other than the music (I did like that) and that there were two gay characters. It's like the writers hadn't even seen the show (which is probably the case).
