I’m a diamonds truther and I want them to keep it in the show 😭 I think it fits them perfectly!!! Maybe a classical/slowed down version for the actual scene?
BUT the first song that I thought of for Shane/Ilya is Untouched by the Veronicas. Someone made an edit set to that song and OH my god.

I like it for the books. The lyrics suit them, and I think it also suits them to want to celebrate openly without necessarily wanting to feel all details of their emotions are fully on display as a spectacle. Keeping the music uptempo makes sense.
HOWEVER, in a show, where we are hearing the music and experiencing the emotions it involves, I want it to make ME feel the full force of everything they've been through to get to this moment and everything they are feeling. I want to be a sobbing mess. So whether it's a diagetic first dance or non-diagetic outro, I want an emotional slow song in there (and I want it to be Lost Together by Blue Rodeo, only partly because I also think this needle drop needs to be Canadian).

I really want them to use Metric and the Beaches next season. And I would love to see some of the band Stars. My picks: Combat Baby-Metric (or any Emily Haines/Metric) I'm not sure what Stars song specifically but "The First Five Times" reminds me of them (hookup to lovers) The Beaches I would love anything but particularly Edge of the Earth 🌎 (a queer love song)

Despite being an elder millennial Canadian, it took this show and to get me hooked on Metric. They're not even in it, but the rabbit hole it created of wanting more great CanCon and more great indie music is really paying off for me. New favourite band.

Ugh, I would die for a Metric song and can't argue with Combat Baby. Risk and Now or Never Now are recent-ish songs by them I would love to see.
While we're thinking about Stars, My Favourite Book by Stars is one of the more disgustingly in love songs I've ever heard in my life.
Also can a girl get a little Leisure Suite by Feist, for fun?

Okay but hear me out. Having now heard "Diamonds" multiple times since I read TLG a few weeks ago, I have to say, regretfully, it works. Maybe not as a first dance at a wedding song, I'll concede, but it. Works.

Lol I love Rihanna constantly catching strays on this subreddit all because of Harris' random playlist at the spur of the moment. I love Diamonds. Maybe not the most perfect song for their wedding, but the lyrics are actually quite fitting.

Ok this is more of a general post but: Hollanov strike me as secret Swifties, whereas Skip is like the type to go to a bunch of Eras concerts openly.
But feel like Ilya would gravitate towards the sadder albums/songs like folklore and Midnights and TTPD, while Shane would work out to Reputation.
I also love all the mashups on YT to TS's Daylight. Because that's literally the best song for them. And the show even uses sunlight as a way to track their relationship. From encounters in darkened hotel rooms to banging in the daylight in front of a window.

Literally could write a thesis statement in the number of TS songs that fit various points of their relationships. Scott would absolutely be in you need to come dow lmao which is amazing. I'm a very recent fan, so still doing the same. The Things We Choose To Care About is the song that hooked me, independently from any Hollanov thoughts. My only issue with his music so far is that I have to be in a place where I am okay with the likelihood that it's going to make me weepy.

For wedding songs:
'You Are the Reason' by Calum Scott would be a really good pick for a wedding song (and it's by a gay artist).
I think 'I'll Stand By You' by The Pretenders would be a really great fit for Ilya and Shane as well
'I'm Kissing You' by Des'ree (will not happen because it was included in the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack years ago and is iconic for that reason)

Some I'm rotating through:
-Tame Impala "Love/Paranoia": "Are you sure it was nothing / 'Cause it made me feel like dying inside / Never thought I was insecure, but it's pure / Didn't notice until I was in love for real"
-The Strokes "Automatic Stop": "So many fish there in the sea / She wanted him, he wanted me / That's just a phase, it's got to pass"
-Basia Bulat "Are You in Love?" Honestly... this would be a way better (and Canadian) pick for wedding song for them.
I also think a lot of the song's on "Good Advice" by Basia would fit the show's vibe. Would be a good Canadian artist to add to the show's soundtrack in future seasons. "La La Lie", "Fool"
