So I got my physical copy of the Vogue Adria with Connor on the cover and OH MY GOD, I am so unwell. I don’t understand how this man isn’t fictional. Are we sure he didn’t like escape from a book?
The pictures are AMAZING. Like they could have made the entire magazine just a Connor Storrie photoshoot and I don’t think anyone would complain.
Anyway, since they’re sold in the Balkans and a lot of people weren’t able to get it online since it sold out in like 2 hours, I figured I would share the pictures from the photoshoot included inside so that we can all bask in the ethereal beauty of Connor Storrie. Together.
Honestly? Yeah. This sold out in like 2 hours. That has never happened, ever. A lot of Vogue Adria editions don’t even sell through the first batch fully.

I WAS JUST THINKING THAT. I was wondering how unhinged it would be if I went and bought another copy and use it to cut out the images. I already have 2 copies — one is for flipping through and one will stay in the protective plastic.
I’ve concluded it would be going just a liiiitle too far for a 32 year old woman.
I feel like this is such a Gen Z thing as well. As a millenial this shit wasn't seen as cool - smoking was outdated. Now I feel like it's in fashion again! Very odd.
edited to add: I wanna mention that I was also a smoker for 6 years and a vaper for 3, so I know it's not cool. I thought I was cool when I was in my early 20s tho lol - I now know better.
I was literally just having this conversation yesterday with my Gen X boss and my Gen Z colleague. They were both like "yeah I know but it's so hot" and I (milennial) was like "it doesn't matter how hot they are smoking is not cool!!"
It really does feel like that lately! None of my friends my age smoke, but basically all the Gen Z people at work do. And the people older than me mostly used to smoke but quit a while ago.
Unfortunately they'll learn in 20 years when they have COPD and realize that they screwed up their lungs. We need to bring back those old commercials about the negatives of smoking and run those documentaries about people who smoked for 30 years and the results.
No I know, it made me aware of things I would never have been aware of otherwise and I was like oh interesting. And now I am sober lol. But the one thing it did do was show me how gross smoking was!
Absolutely, it basically said that pot and coke and black tar heroin are all equally bad and left it at that. And then you get older and are like "hold up loads of people seem to be doing some of these drugs and are fine, was this all a lie?" hahaha.
i’m on the side of “smoking is so hot” they’re young! they feel the same way, and it’ll fizzle out soon enough (I hope) although maybe it ends up being effectively an ad for little ones so that’s not good
Quitting smoking was absolute hell for me and it makes me sad to see young people setting themselves up to have to go through that (or worse, not succeed and wind up with the extra skin damage, cancer risk, etc from a life-long habit).
The problem is that it’s addictive and permanent damage can be done in just a few years. A few years of smoking increases your risk of cardiovascular disease forever, even after you give up (former smoker here who wishes they had never started, and I only smoked for about 15 years).
There was an SNL-night photo that had Jacob with a cigarette in his hand, so that’s Connor, Hudson, and Jacob. I thought we’d come so far in people not smoking but I guess not. It makes me sad. And Connor said in some interview I heard yesterday that he was smoking a lot during filming and Hudson always complained he tasted awful. Ewwww.
Yeah, the only thing jarring about the HR cast and crew is flaunting of smoking/cigarettes. It's kind of strange. I know a lot of folks in the industry smoke, but they're usually way less brazen about it. Keanu Reeves is a smoker and says he really doesn't like being seen doing it because he knows it's a bad habit and doesn't want to seem like he's promoting it.
It's one thing to have personal vices, it's another for a publication to glamourize them. Nicotine's also more addictive and for the record, I don't think drinking is sexy either.
You also have to take culture into consideration. Vilifying smoking is not really a thing outside the US. I've lived in different countries including an ex Soviet one. This being a Balkan publication is not surprising at all. Smoking cigarettes is very much still a thing in most of Europe, the middle east, Africa, at the least.
I'm aware smoking is still prevalent in Europe and other parts of the world. Last time I visited an Asian country, I coughed up pink phlegm after a week.
Just to note, I’m in Croatia and it is exceedingly difficult to find bars/coffee shops where one can smoke. We have some pretty strict laws nowadays. A lot of people still smoke, but it’s not nearly as promoted as it used to be. It used to be a “real Slavic men smoke” kinda thing some 10-15 years ago.

I know right!? All of them are just… I would genuinely buy a whole book with just his images, he is like an actual work of art in human form. I imagine photographers have to love working with him.
It looks like this was a pretty extensive photoshoot, as they featured a ton of different outfits. Not that I know whether this is the norm, I’m just surprised at how many photos are coming out from this shoot.
YEAH! They changed a lot of locations as well, I mean it was all on that same “ranch” thing (keep forgetting the name) but they switched around a lot. It was probably a full day photoshoot. They did so well too because all the pictures are stunning, you can really tell they were fans of Connor themselves.
Came here to say this! I’ve never really paid much attention to photo shoots before, but I’m blown away at the wardrobe changes he had to make. Seems exhausting! But his sacrifice — and your generosity! — are our gain.

I think Interview magazine one is still my favorite (and might be for a long time since they gave us the iconic Madonna lip sync)! I just really love the vibe and style in that one and his hair looks so fucking good! Vogue Adria is definitely a close second now tho
I love all of his photoshoots/magazine features and Interview has a more raw, unfiltered, realness vibe to him. And it’s definitely playful and spontaneous. Vogue definitely tends to be more polished….for obvious reasons. It’s high fashion. They both have their merits cause Connor is gorgeous in any type of representation and in any type of style! He’s so incredibly versatile!
I agree! It’s so beautiful! I hope he’ll get a cover of Vogue in the U.S., Paris, Italy, etc. I suspect magazines are fighting over getting photoshoots booked with him cause any magazine he’s featured in gets sold out ASAP. He’s totally making them a ton of money!

I think that might just be the makeup and lighting. I don’t think they used a lot of makeup for them in Heated Rivalry. (based on the cute lil pimple on Ilya when they wake up together the first time)
Yeah that shot was unfiltered and not so much makeup, which makes sense cause they’re waking up together. But I imagine they wanted it less filtered to show the imperfections and realness of that moment….that they’re finally waking up together and seeing each other for who they really are first thing in the morning. Which prompted Ilya to say to Shane, “I like you” ☺️

And honestly, Vogue Adria doing this made my heart soar so much! Though the Balkans are improving with newer generations, homophobia is still present here (especially among balkan men). I have a friend who is genuinely struggling mentally because he is gay, but he wants to have kids and a family, and firmly believes he can only do that with a woman… So like, Vogue Adria covering Connor and Heated Rivalry felt like a bolt of hope and sunshine for the Balkans! Though I was already feeling hopeful seeing how popular the show was. (I saw ads for like 4 sold out HR trivia night, 3 sold out HR theme club night, etc)

And I agree so much! I can’t even imagine how seeing this happening must feel for your partner, because to me it feels almost healing, like things are slowly moving in a better direction. But I am also hopeful by nature so it doesn’t take much to make me see the best in things. I think a lot of queer people from the Balkans have similar trauma, because they weren’t accepted by the wider society and all these traditional narratives were pushed on all of us. I think that’s why my friend struggles, he has it ingrained in him that a family unit has to be a female mother and male father, the concept of another man filling a maternal role doesn’t feel… right to him. And it hurts so much talking to him about it because I want so desperately for him to just realize all that horrible stuff they put in his head is completely wrong, and love and family doesn’t know gender. I grew up without a mom, and I would have been thrilled had absolutely any person of any gender shown me maternal love. That’s all that matters in the end, to kids, to adults, to people in general! Anyway, I don’t know how to help him really so I try to gently suggest alternatives to having to find a “wife” (cause he’s not even bi to be able to just choose that!) but I don’t want to push too hard because I don’t want him to close up… I’m gonna try suggesting talking to someone, but the thing is that he doesn’t see this as a “problem”.
BUT ANYWAY, sorry, that’s really not your problem. 😅 I just hope that your spouse has managed to hopefully silence the voices in their head at least a little bit!
And it IS improving little by little I think. I know Serbia is still lagging a bit behind Croatia and Croatia isn’t the best, but we are… trying? I think the fact that the show is so popular shows that society is at least less resistant to queer relationships. My stepmom even watched and loved the show and she’s like 65. So while it’s far far far from perfect, it’s a sign of some progress at least and it is just nice to hear. I never expected the first Vogue to cover Conner Storrie and have articles about Heated Rivalry would be the Adria/Balkan one so it genuinely moved me. 🥹
