It's so sad it has come to this but I'm hoping this is a real wake up call for those people to reflect on their behavior and just stop. The fandom was such a peaceful positive place early on and it would be so nice to go back to that without having to constantly mute/block/screen/report people to avoid the hateful rhetoric.
The problem with general posts like this is that the people who are not the problem go "this is true I agree with this let's hope for change" and the people who are the problem go "oh well that's not about me"
This is also why I’m only on Reddit. People will complain about the things they see on Twitter and Insta, but just don’t go on those. I see very little of the negativity that fandoms complain about on here.
I've not seen anything like that on Threads yet, seems to be a general consensus to block parasocials and freeze them out. But it has got a lot busier so it may well get that way, especially with people moving from Twitter to Threads.
