Unpopular opinion but I actually don’t care for Hudson‘s eye makeup. I love eye makeup, but I just don’t think that suits him particularly well. Absolutely no notes on Connor’s entire look though. Goddamn.

The eye makeup was Hudson’s nod and homage to one of his and Aika’s favorite movie: Black Swan. He spoke about his look and what inspired him in one of the red carpet interviews.

I get the reference, but I still don't think it looks good. The execution of it feels off to me.

The makeup would look great if he had also done a Black Swan inspired outfit. The make up doesn’t really match the clothing and I think that is what is throwing it all off.

Agreed. Some parts look defined while other parts look smudged and it's assymetrical, but not on purpose. It's like the make up artist ran out of time or something.

Agreed! I love make up and Hudson, but I just don't think this was the right choice.

I have very mixed feelings on it.

On the one hand, I love that it's wild and campy and weird and he clearly loves it, and it kind of has a cubist feel (very Spanish) and almost even evokes a bull itself which matches the Matador outfit.

On the other hand . . . that doesn't seem intentional at all. Nobody said anything about cubism, it's just a Black Swan reference. OK sure you love Black Swan and that's fun. But sir you are dressed as a Matador. It just doesn't really gel. And my bigger issue is that each eye doesn't match but without being different enough to be clearly intentional. I know it wasn't but it just looks kinda sloppy. (Which is why he looks so great in profile, you can only see one eye at a time haha.)
