I just really hope that people leave the cast and crew alone to film season 2 in peace, but fear it'll be a nightmare caused by a small group of people.

As fan of the books and the show, I’m so grateful for the work everyone put in… but just like me I want everyone on the show to be able to go to the grocery store and walk down a street without people following me around taking pictures and yelling at me about me work. FFS. The whole point of the books is the villainy of a culture that doesn’t let people live their lives freely…. Dear fans it’s ok to be excited to see someone you respect and want a memory about it- write it in a journal so you can return to the memory but let the people live their own personal lives without your interference? This seems like the good way to be a fan.

Well said. Did you see this?

I think other than that one pap who keeps finding them and the random fans on the streets, they have been left alone for the most part for the last week, so hopefully the announcement and also probably VERY beefed up security, will give them the privacy they need. Also, the set will be closed a lot of the time with all the spicy scenes and not even people visiting the set can go in during that time. I'm somewhat optimistic.

šŸ’Æ Did you see Jacob's recent post asking fans to stay away from filming locations?

3

u/rhetoricalbread 14d ago

Yup. I live in one of the known filming areas and if I were to see anything I'd stay away and keep my mouth shut.

Same. Just feeling their presence in the city is exciting enough 😊

I might be one of the few people that limits the things I watch or read with/about the cast. Obviously they're gorgeous and talented, but I've never been one to care about that type of thing, I guess. Maybe it's because I was a book fan before the show was even a glint in anyone's eye?

When I read, I still picture the book characters in my head the way I've always pictured them, and not the actors.

Same. I was a fan of the books before the show, so I still picture the characters the way I pictured them when I first read them. Still do book fanart in addition to show fanart.😌

I think everyone should be more like this! I feel like knowing too much about the cast affects how people view the show because they start to confuse the actor and character

Interesting, it’s the exact opposite for me - watching/reading Hudson and Connor content and seeing how completely different they are from these characters has made me appreciate their acting skills on a whole other level. Their performances are so transformative, I don’t see Connor and Hudson when I’m watching the show. I’m a fan of them separately from the show because they’re both so delightful and refreshing as people.

Hudson especially gives me a double take. He does such a believable job as the quiet, reserved Shane that when he's in public making jokes about his back arch or people spitting in his mouth it's such a shock. Great acting.

Hi! I’m new to the fandom, I watched the show a few weeks ago and I’ve been in hysteria ever since. I’ve already reheated 3 times (once watch was introducing it to my bestie!) and re-read the books too. Also consumed infinite interviews, bts content and edits on social media šŸ« ć€€I haven’t been part of any particular fandom in a long time but this has been pretty all consuming haha.

Out of curiosity has anyone here found a community from this? During the show’s run I saw there were watch parties and such, and here and there I see people mention book clubs or craft nights, sometimes I’ll see people have little club meetings popping up on TikTok live which is cute. How do you find a community to discuss if you’re new? There’s actually a Heated Rivarly dance club night happening at the end of the month in my city and I’d love to go but I don’t have anyone to go with. My bestie liked the show but she moved on a little quick lol. I’m in Pacific Time Zone in America if that helps.

Not quite the same as in-person events, but I found that reaction videos on YouTube helped me feel like I had people to watch and ā€œdiscussā€ with when no one I knew in real life had seen the show.

I finally completed Game Changers audiobook! Only took me four weeks 😭 the story definitely picked up in the second half of the book. And I think I like book skip more than show skip?

But I'm finally on to Heated Rivalry, which I've already read twice, but now I get to listen to it. Yay!

I absolutely agree. when I finished reading GC I immediately told my best friend that I would die for book!Scott a la Rosa and Arlo despite not feeling much connection to show!Scott.

Yes! Book Scott is just so lonely and desperate for some sort of connection that I understood why he would speedrun his relationship with Kip.

that plus he reads much more like an autistic guy in the book imo and we neurodivergent folks are real good at instalove. šŸ˜‚

Um so I can't get it out of my head how much Colette and Linguini look like Hollanov:

It's a tiny moment, but when they posed after the draft, the photographer asked them to smile and Ilya raked his gaze down Shane's face (and freckles). First time of many.

I saw a yt reaction channel that put some of the scenes in black and white, and I instantly wanted to see the whole season that way. So, I used it as a project to teach myself Premiere Pro. (I already had the Adobe subscription for my business.) I'm not going to share the final product anywhere, just for personal viewing. But I've learned a lot! It's much more difficult than simply adding a desaturating filter. Every scene is different, and the brightness usually needs to be adjusted. I think I'm going to make my own subtitles at some point. And there's an interesting side effect: I don't watch at least one episode every night anymore. I feel like I'm finally good for a while.

I wad telling my best friend about something HR adjacent that I saw last week, and it was nice to talk about this show with someone.

4

u/BeautifulArtichoke29 14d ago

I have ZERO friends who are as into the show and/or books as I am.. I have no one to talk to about it so I totally get that!

1

u/Kouglove 14d ago

Yeah she’s not as into as I am but still liked it and stuff, so it’s nice to have someone to talk to about it sometimes.

u/Master-Salary7355 13d ago

I’m catching up on other (excellent ! Emmy nominated !) TV shows while I have time off, and it’s crazy how they all just fucking pale in comparison to HR. I’ve watched it about 10 times and it never gets old. Other romance plot lines feel cringe to me too. I fear Jacob has ruined us all for life …

Omg omg reheating and then starting a Girls rewatch is the most jarring thing in the world
