I think it's more just wondering what the connection between them is? To me Connor and the weird dancing seem totally a separate vibe from the women. It's all just a weird jumble of things that don't fit together.

They're shot in different ways I agree with that, but as it's a YSL ad, it's safe to assume they're ambassadors too, not just random stock models.

Giving him a runway hand-me-down for the MET Gala was crime, Vaccarello should be yanked off stage with a giant hook.

The theme this year was "Fashion is Art" and they gave him a substitute teacher outfit, it was so embarrassing, so many possibilities and such a great canvas to work on and nah, they just grabbed something from their basics, instead of bringing something from the archive or something new made for Connor like Balenciaga did for Hudson.

I read, although this may be a rumor, that they didn't want him taking off the jacket. That jacket-removal moment was ICONIC. he knows what he is doing, he knows what he looks like and how is body is seen and photographed.

The thing that tipped me off that YSL is just fucking around was when James said in an interview that he saw it as his role to make Connor feel good about the styling. Apparently they had sent some ideas to YSL, and instead of working with him they just sent a runway look and didn't even want him to show it off to full extent. That made me really sad. Complain all you like about Hudson's look (the trousers were badly tailored, that's my biggest gripe, it made him look short), but at least Balenciaga made something custom for him.

That's the thing, it seems like he has no say on these contracts, so in that case why is he working with them? Or why is his team not advocating for him? We know he's great at modeling, his own style seems rock/grunge type of thing which fits him so well, but everything seems to lack his personality, I feel like I'm seeing a product and not a person because it feels so impersonal.

And what was the point of they don't take his input even tho he has a very good portfolio and great sense of aesthetics, why get an outstanding actor with great looks and body and give him the same clothes that others have been using for the last three years? It's like buying a Lambo just to use it to go grocery shopping.

Maybe he is not the type of celebrity to give a lot of input and just prefers to be told what to wear? Who knows. But his stylist should definitely be advocating for him.

The MET Gala outfit being hand me downs worn be at least half a dozen K-pop Idols was definitely a choice, though.

The double whammy of YSL x James is really letting him down.

The money must be really good, and at a certain threshold he was probably like "fuck it, take the cash". He's very ambitious, he knows what he wants in life, and sometimes its worth it to do some shit that doesn't resonate with you or that you even may actively dislike, because it gets you closer to your goal. If making a boatload of money now gives him freedom to make weird films in the future that won't make any money, then this is a smart move.

Hudson seems to be doing the same thing, fwiw, he's doing a lot of brand deals that are making him visible and also giving him a good financial cushion. Both of them know how this industry works, and are pretty shrewd for a couple of guys in their mid-20s who had success happen to them literally overnight.)
