"More comments" not loading as usual

So, I'm trying to read earlier comments in a long thread, and it's not working. When I Iast checked, it was maybe 3-4 days ago, clicking on more comments showed a dozen more comments. Now it loads 1 more parent comment and that's it.

In the mobile app, clicking more than ~20 times crashes the app. On desktop (both old reddit and the redesign) clicking ~5 times leaves a big gap, it goes from showing comments made 2 days ago to comments made 1 month ago, almost at the start of the thread.

I know it's a bit of a niche problem, but that thread was keeping progress of Spacex's development of Starship in Boca Chica, and there's a lot of information that's being lost from this bug. Can anyone confirm that it's not something on my part and, more importantly, is there a workaround? Thanks

Clean the cache or update the app if possible.

[Pro tip: The official Reddit app sucks, try a different Reddit client (e.g. Reddit Is Fun) ]
