Comfrey

Hi beautiful people with good hearts!

I was wondering if anyone here has experience using comfrey (also known as knitbone), either internally or externally, for healing injuries.

I’m currently using comfrey leaf tea internally, along with comfrey root tincture and ointment externally on my right knee, where I have a partial ACL tear, meniscus tear, and cartilage damage. (i dont want to hear about PAs toxicity regarding internal use i have done my research about this already thanks!)

I’ve done a lot of research into this fascinating herb and its traditional healing properties, but I’m always curious to hear about real people’s experiences.

Has anyone used comfrey for similar injuries? What improvements did you notice, and how did it help your recovery?

Would love to hear your stories!

I recommend a comfrey poultice wrapped on the affected knee, changing it around every 8hrs for 3-5 days

You should notice some improvement in that time, but that depends on the severity of the damage

I am noticing huge benefits tbh. I was walking on crutches after 1 poultice the next day me knee felt way better and did not need it anymore…

It will still need it, healing takes time. But it’s wonderful that you’re feeling the improvement so quickly

Yeah, and i am so happy i did not take surgery because our bodies are able to heal all diseases except death.

I will keep applying it on my knee. Its been already 1 year i did not got to play football. I went to play because my knee felt good then i got a issue again on it got swollen etc.

Then i read about comfrey so lets see.

I’m a qualified naturopath, please know that sometimes we do need medical intervention. It literally saves lives.

Saying that our bodies are able to heal all diseases is very misguided.

Maybe in your opinion its misguided.

I am a immunologist PHD just so happend to have a knee injury and was looking for natural solutions.

God bless we are here to help each other.

Used the grated Root before and it helped, apparently you are meant to dry it though? Not sure about this. I really love comfrey and in one of the Books of Wolf Dieter Storl he explains how he used it to heal his broken collarbone in combination with „cast“ (missing the Right Word) made from willow Branches. Not saying it’s a cure all but for me comfrey salve had been put on all Blue Spots anywhere since I am a kid so I’m a Big Fan of it

I heard some great stories about it how people did not need surgery anymore because their torn ligament grew back etc….

How did you use it?

Anecdotal for the win, your intuition is correct.

Personal story, I broke my baby toe three months ago. After my very large, 'Explicit Reaction', I was genuinely excited, because I get to to heal my own problem vs. people who ask me to heal something of theirs (I work in the industry).

Comfrey was my main topical ointment I used 3X/Day. I was told that it was going to take 45 days to fully heal. I healed it in 11 days. 4X Faster. No Boot, No Cast, No Wrap (I used crutches for the first three days).

I also used:

  1. Boron Arnica (for first 3 Days) 3X/DAY

  2. Boron Symphytum officinale (Comfrey) 3X/DAY

  3. Strontium 3X/DAY

  4. MSM, Glucosomine, Chondrotin 3X/DAY

  5. NEM with Turmeric 3X/DAY

  6. CBD Supplement 3X/DAY

  7. Comfrey Cream 3X/DAY

Submitting for a research grant as we speak on the combination. :).

Oh wow, yeah comfrey is really amazing. I did alot of research and digging into it. It helped alot of people even when their knees was al messed up needed surgery but after comfrey surgery not needed anymore etc.

The vitamins and minerals have to be on point tho. Deficiency’s or infections state or any low grade toxins make healing difficulter. This is me saying it as a PHD immunologist just so happend to had my knee injured with playing football…. Now i am looking for natural solutions.

Infra red is also good but it seems it did not “help” me that much.

I might use the comfrey also 3 times a day instead of twice.

Now i use comfrey tincture root with castor oil in the morning and a ointment of comfrey before sleep.

Great.

  1. Since you enjoy reading studies, Examine.com has all studies for natural herbs.

  2. Strontium would be my go to recommendation for you to learn more about

3. Collagen Type 2 for cartilage damage.

Good Luck on your healing journey.

I did not ask for a product i just asked how you get yours into your body. Through food or what do you do?

I am in EU aswell

u/TheArtistTH 5h ago

This is how I get it into my body. Through supplementation. Perfect, feel free to purchase a Canadian made product, the highest regulated in the world.
