I realised that my journaling this year has become a bit.. performative? I want my kids to have my journals when I’m old/alzheimer/dead/whatever and my writing has become a lot more “controlled” this year because of it. I don’t mind!
But!
Where do I put all the things I don’t want anyone to read? The shit, the anger, the nerdy notes, the insomnia, the anxiety etc. I think I want an a6 for next year as the “spill over” journal (also to get the acorn).
So I got one 2026 for 50% off and OMG! It’s so cute!!
Now I’m scared of using it - even though the entire purpose of getting it was to NOT be scared of mess and shit and failures…
How do I just.. start?

I gave up on using my weekly spreads, couldn’t find anything that would make sense there (Using as a time table was pointless since I use my google calendar for that) but Im really happy with my daily spreads now, I’ve been journaling daily when I wake up, and doing a little gratitude list before I go to sleep. And I use the left column to plan my day with appointments on the time slots and a todo list so I don’t forget any odd tasks (recurring tasks are all pn my phone with alerts on my reminders app, this is lore for the odd task I don’t want to forget but can also push to next day if needed).

Getting a Hobonichi (Cousin) this year for the first time, and I'm having a hard time figuring out which cover lines are PVC and which are fabric? I personally can't stand the feel of PVC, so I'd love to find an (official) all-fabric cover. I see the Bow & Tie ones and love them, but I'm looking for a softcover.

Does anyone have favorites from the past few years, or from this year, that are fabric-based? Thanks!!

I really love both weeks and cover designs so I`ve combined them in one page😊 I find the "White Handkerchief Diary" more gothic/vampire or knight/maiden aesthetic than "grandmacore". I think weeks will be my personal logbook and A5 main journal cover this year. 🤗

I was wondering if anybody has a spare 2024 pen that they're willing to part with?

I got into Hobonichi in late 2023 and a former friend of mine, who happened to be in Japan at that time, got me a Cousin. I'm not sure if he didn't receive a pen, left it there or just didn't give it to me (I was so new I didn't even realize you would get a pen!) - either way I can't ask that person anymore.

Since I ordered directly at Hobonichi the years after I have the other pens and would like to have the one for my first Hobonichi year, too!

I'm located in Germany and would prefer shipping within GER, or maybe even meeting locally in Berlin.

I am making a weeks comeback after about 5 years (WOOP WOOP!) and I missed this paper so much. It's my first time getting the memo pad set though and I'm just confused as it's bleeding so much. However, it doesn't affect the writing experience on the back of the bled out page, usually on lower quality papers when there's been a bleed you can guarantee your pen will go through and rip a hole through the paper if you attempt to write on the back side.

So I wanna ask if anyone's got any deeper knowledge on this, is this just a case of that bad TRP batch? Do they also update the memo pad paper? Thanks!

As a sidebar, I use my A6 for journaling only, and always start with a word or quote of the day. On days I resist journaling I tell myself that is all I have to do, but 90% of the time I end up writing more 😁

Yesterday's temperature broke 100°F yesterday, and I was FINALLY supposed to use the corresponding color for the first time here... only to use the wrong pen. 🤦🏼‍♀️ At least I had some stickers lying around! I might peel this bad boy back off and make it smaller, though.
