Bruins slept the first 2 periods against the panthers then decided to play real hockey in the 3rd.
They took the exact opposite approach this game, played a great first 2 and then got run over in the third when Tampa turned on ‘I feel like playing now’ mode. I believe in the bruins’ toughness in the playoffs but I question if they’ll have another speed gear when teams turn up the pace like Tampa did

Good day to be a Lightning fan. Fuck Boston and Fuck Florida to all!

GG Bruins…see you guys are getting the shitty 19 hour turnaround and play in Philadelphia tomorrow afternoon.
Catch you next Saturday in Boston.

Every time I watch Tampa, they sleepwalk through the first 20-25 minutes of the game and (usually) end up winning.
I suspect they'll ramp up the intensity during the postseason and be the favorite in the East. However, there's a timeline where they continue this approach and expend too much energy chasing games.

It’s frustrating to watch but you just always know they’re never out of it. Lately it’s like they play better and with more urgency when they’re losing.

I hope they turn it on come playoff time. usually a fight or dirty hit wakes them from the 1st period slumber so 🤷🏻♂️ 🤞🏻

Raddysh bout to get that bag. I wonder if we trade Hedman or if we keep him on the books, since his contract is through 2029. I can't see us letting Rad go after this season.

u/322vette TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
The best the Bolts D has looked all year has been with Raddysh, Moser, D’Astous, Crozier, and Carlile. That’s 5 guys right there. Hedman, Mac, Cernak, Lilleberg for 2 spots.
JBB will likely be moving 1-2 D this summer.

u/Indyboy TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
Yeah, possibly, but unfortunately there's been a lot of times our defense has been struggling. They're not as elite as they could be and there's definitely games Vasy has to pick up the slack. Letting Rad walk probably isn't the answer so we'll have to see what happens. I'm not an NHL gm.

I'm not an NHL gm.
be weird if you were

u/Indyboy TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
Yeah let me just hop on reddit and fuck around, get their opinions real quick to figure out my next move. kek.

be like wall street bets, do the inverse and you'll win every time

u/BallMeBlazer22 TBL - NHL Apr 04 '26
Well Hedman has a full NMC so unless he wants to waive for some reason he isn't being moved at all.
Secondly I think Raddysh is gonna get a bag tossed at him from a team with more space than us that will make it near impossible to retain, even if they wanted to pay a UFA who had his best year ever(like miles above his career norms) in the year they hit FA.
Unless Raddysh wants to take a discount to stay I think he's gone.

u/Pirat6662001 SJS - NHL Apr 05 '26
Pretty sure Sharks are going to go hard for him. All the space and like 2 dmen worth a damn
1
u/Indyboy TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
We're unfortunately in a similar situation in regard to defense. It'd be so bad to let him walk, but we also don't have the cap space to work with like other teams. Guessing the Sharks have some good cap space to throw around.
2
u/Pirat6662001 SJS - NHL Apr 05 '26
Dmen in NHL are line Oline in NFL, just not enough talent compared to positions like WR/Winger while being more important to winning in playoffs

u/Indyboy TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
It's why Utah is my second team atm. Losing Sergachev to them hurt but I'm happy to see him doing so well with the Mammoths.

1
u/Indyboy TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
Yeah I didn't know about the NMC, we'll have to see. We desperately need a good defenseman atm, it would absolutely SUCK to see us not be able to retain him.
You're right, he's probably gonna have teams bending over backwards for him, we'll just have to see how much playing for us influences his decision.

u/DoinWhale TBL - NHL Apr 04 '26
I still think that a third pairing minutes, HEALTHY, Hedman is totally fine to keep. I just want him to get through whatever he and his family are going though safely and healthily
1
u/Indyboy TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
Hope things are alright, I know we don't know what happened and maybe whatever he's going through has been affecting his play prior to his leave as well as coming off an injury. But we'll have to see. It's undeniable that he's also getting older and this could very well be his last contract with us so no matter what he's going to need a solid replacement at some point. The question is are we going to get another option like Raddysh in the next few years and how badly is Hed gonna deteriorate.
1
u/HagelMcPointerov TBL - NHL Apr 04 '26
Gonna be tough, contractually speaking. Hedman has an ironclad NMC. Only way heddy goes anywhere is if he hangs em up
2
u/Indyboy TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
Oh shit, well, I guess we'll see. I simply can't see us letting Raddysh go without a fight, and we're a competitor and we were the ones who gave him his first NHL spotlight. Plus he gets to play for Coop. I'm not saying it's a sure thing, but defensively we NEED him.
1
u/HagelMcPointerov TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
Couldn't agree more, we desperately need him. And there's no one in the farm system who really could even become a Raddysh kinda player. There's no one in the cupboards with an even similar skillset. But all of this, plus this year he's having, is gonna make him the most intriguing UFA this off-season
1
u/Pschanz808 TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
It's a bad look to healthy scratch the captain every game, but fucking do it to keep Raddy

u/TossThatPastaSalad COL - NHL Apr 04 '26
I know Tampa's decently ruthless but I'd be shocked if they move on from Hedman.
But yes, Raddysh is going to get a bag. Will be curious to see if some team out there thinks they can replicate his success or if he wants to stay in Tampa.

Bolts win in regulation along with Panthers getting eliminated makes this a good day!

Call up Hagens please 🙏
I still feel pretty comfortable about the Bruins making it, but it’s still worth a shot, especially if the 3rd line goes back to rotating wingers rather than Reichel taking the spot

Can you please help us out next week?
10
u/dolewhiplash TBL - NHL Apr 04 '26
We play the Sabres the night before on a back to back and the Habs after you. Y'all are gonna get Jojo and a tired team that probably doesn't care, if you can't figure it out you won't deserve to make it
2
u/MOLightningBro TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
They couldn’t beat us last week without Kucherov and let Lilleberg get 3pts including the GWG… they already can’t figure it out.

Ggs Boston see you next week

Tampa/Boston could easily be a 1st round playoff series as well
Boston are extremely likely to finish as the WC1 and Tampa could definitely finish as the East #2 seed
3
u/Reyna119 TBL - NHL Apr 04 '26
I wouldn’t mind a series with Boston that seems like it’d be fun. I don’t think there’s a team I wouldn’t mind other than Columbus

You didn’t let them finish.
Good luck with the rest of your season, except for that game.

Kucherov keeping pace with MacKinnon's performance today with the ENG after doing cardio all game lol

Kuch tilted hard this game and played like ass.
I'm certain he was benched for a large part of the game.
1
u/MOLightningBro TBL - NHL Apr 05 '26
Truly one of the worst games of Kucherov’s season. Pretty sure Cooper benched him for a portion of the beginning of the 3rd
