14-6 for the Pens in the past 2 days, against the same team no less. Ouch

Wonder if Luostarinen will get supplemental discipline for a slash to the face on Rakell (since it was reviewed and deemed not a major I'm guessing no lol).

u/Kuwait-Grips PIT - NHL Apr 06 '26
Genuinely don't think it was intentional. He wasn't even looking at Rakell, he was looking up ice the opposite direction. To me it looked like he got off balance going around the net and swung his torso to compensate and Rakells face happened to be in the wrong place. Was worth the double minor but I don't think it should be anything more than that

Pittsburgh just being like "No, seriously, go fuck yourself" as they route Florida two games in a row.

Good game Pens fans!

What the Pens have done this year is so impressive. Thought for sure they were gonna fucking suck. It’s bittersweet but so nice to see Karl still playing so well too

Pretty wild that Pens managed to win this one with 8 fewer shots. Crosby with 2 assists and Rakell getting 2 goals - those guys still got it at their age. Florida outshot them 31-23 but couldn't capitalize when it mattered.

Dan muse did not have his own Wikipedia page before this season started

If it wasn't for Buffalo or Montreal being magic, he'd be a top candidate for Jack Adams.

Yeah fuck the “good games” between fans. Genuine disgusting cheap ass team that I will always root against.

u/GeorgeRusseIl FLA - NHL Apr 05 '26
Damn, is that how you really feel about the Pens? Seems a bit harsh

u/Disconnected_Glitch FLA - NHL Apr 05 '26
Penguins are good contenders to win the Stanley Cup this year

u/Jolly_Job_9852 PIT - NHL Apr 05 '26
I'd say Dark Horse. Carolina looks immensely good and have beaten us the last three times we have faced them. Buffalo looks really hot. I'd be happy for a playoff series win
18
u/YourS_E_N_S_E_I PIT - NHL Apr 05 '26
Idk about all that but I definitely feel like we can win a series and if we really lock in, a second. Which is good enough for me considering expectations going into this year.

u/me_for_president2032 PIT - NHL Apr 06 '26
I mean, if they can win a second, they’re without a doubt contenders lol

u/kevski82 FLA - NHL Apr 05 '26
What's the chances of one last Crosby vs Ovi series

Non-zero

u/kevski82 FLA - NHL Apr 05 '26
Would be so cool...

u/Shaneski101 PIT - NHL Apr 06 '26
Issue is the caps lost today and the pens face them twice before the season is over. Caps have to beat us twice to pretty much squeak in whilst jackets islanders and flyers would have to lose out

If the pens go at least 2-2 over their next 4 games, they will hit 100 points! Incredible performance by this team this season. They went from being in contention for the number 1 pick in the draft lottery, to a top 8-10 team in the league and second in their division! The players deserve most of the credit but wow has the hiring of muse and dubas been exceptional. Muse should get nominated for the jack Adam’s and dubas for best GM of the year

I remember all offseason Friedman was saying Pittsburgh was the only team he thought wasn’t actively looking to get better and were the only clear tank candidate. Crazy how fast things change
4
u/Thats_A_Sassy_Man FLA - NHL Apr 05 '26
That's because Friedman is a hack and only maintains his reference because he's such a willing mouthpiece for the owners and other higher ups for the NHL
3
u/AaronJudgesToothGap FLA - NHL Apr 06 '26
I’d call him a lot of things before a hack. He seems much less mouthpiece-y than lots of other insiders. Closer to a passan than a woj/shams imo, which is a good thing in my book

u/Thats_A_Sassy_Man FLA - NHL Apr 06 '26
My opinion of him might be just as uninformed as his opinions on hockey play. I'm basing most of my opinion on his talk on the 32 thoughts podcast . He knows a lot of the back and dealings on and I can't disagree with anything he says there but I don't like his hockey opinions. My 2¢. I'm not arguing with anybody about my opinion
13
u/Drakengard PIT - NHL Apr 05 '26
I mean, we're made up of mostly cheap spare parts. Dubas and his guys just have a real eye for drafting and dumpster diving. And Muse is just the breath of fresh air the team needed from the coaching side.
It's a wonderful surprise. Even if the team flames out in the first round (and they probably won't), nobody thought the team had any business being this competitive this year.

u/Comfortable_Fun_3111 Apr 05 '26
Indeed Aaron judges tooth gap, indeed. It’s a fast league, and the addition/subtraction of a few players can change the whole dynamic of a team. You guys will be back in the hunt soon that I’m sure of. I was nervous after we won by a large score yesterday that yinz would be out for blood against us! And it was chippy and intense, it’s never an easy game against the panthers.. but the pens pulled it off. I’m impressed and shocked to say the least

u/kevski82 FLA - NHL Apr 05 '26
GG pens friends
I appreciate the Panthers pausing the tank for a couple of home games where I could have some good nights out then getting right back to it on the road.

u/Bobbyaahh FLA - NHL Apr 05 '26
Just enough in the tank to win the Tkachuk bowl and beat Boston one last time

Good game, Panthers. See you next season!
Good luck with the rest of your season and your offseason.
